While I was sitting there, a woman driving a green vehicle pulled into the space next to me with dog tags hanging from the rearview mirror. The person inside kept staring at me and giving me what could only be described as dirty looks. I initially wondered if they thought I was improperly using the takeout parking without actually ordering. Then they went through the employee-only entrance. When I went back inside to pick up my food, that same person was working behind the counter, and the uncomfortable looks continued. I still have absolutely no idea what that was about. I had ordered food, was parked exactly where a takeout customer should be parked, and was simply waiting for my order. Whatever the reason, it felt unnecessarily rude and made for a pretty awkward first impression. I could have easily overlooked that if the food knocked it out of the park, but unfortunately it didn't. The chicken Philly was disappointing. The chicken was chopped rather than the shaved-style meat I was expecting, there wasn't nearly enough cheese, and the entire sandwich desperately needed seasoning. It was incredibly bland. The pizza didn't redeem the experience either. The large felt much closer to what I'd consider a medium elsewhere. The cheese tasted inexpensive, the crust was just okay, and overall there wasn't anything memorable about it. I hate to say it, but I've had frozen pizza I enjoyed more. Supporting local businesses is something I genuinely enjoy doing, but the experience has to make you want to come back. Between feeling strangely unwelcome before I even picked up my food and then being underwhelmed by what I ordered, this just wasn't a great introduction. Treat new customers like you want them to become regulars. First impressions matter, and unfortunately this one missed the mark.

Prices are great (you can have a slice and soft drink or water all for under $10) and the ambiance is always lively.
