I went to this location for Adobe After Effects training. The instructor Mr. Smith was very knowledgable and helpful. There were many levels of education in the class, and he was able to speak to every level so that there wasn't anyone who felt left out or lost. I learned a lot during the course. I'd only played around with the After Effects program a few times, so taking this course helped immensely. I'm going to take the great training that I received here and pass it on to my coworkers. Thanks to the thorough teachings of Mr Smith I'll be able to explain the lessons well. I'd definitely recommend this education center. read more

I took Sterling Ledet & Associates' Adobe Flash Professional class a couple weeks ago and was impressed with the quality of this 2-day course. My employer footed the $800 bill, so I guess it's easy for me to say the class was worth the money. When I drove into the Northlake Quadrangle, the office park where Sterling Ledet is located, I felt a tad sketched out at first, as the large, spread-out development is dilapidated and devoid of many tenants. However, the classrooms were extremely clean, along with the restrooms and break area. The break area included comfortable chairs, along with a coffeemaker and hot tea, providing caffeine boosts to help us keep trucking through the lectures. Not that the lectures were boring, by any means. My instructor, Michael Snodgrass, was quite pleasant and inserted subtle humor into the class, making the 7 hours breeze by. Michael emphasized his willingness to answer any and all of our questions. Plus, since there were only seven class participants, it was easy for him to stop the lecture or an exercise to dole out individual help. I was a little wary of taking the basic Flash course, since I've been using the program for several years. In fact, I wanted to sign up for the intermediate-level course, but the staff member I spoke to was adamant on my taking the beginner's class first (of course, so there would be the possibility of my taking two classes, and paying double the money). Although I already was familiar with many of the processes the instructor presented, I would say 40% of the class included new information. I was shocked that, before the class, I would spend an hour or so doing something manually in Flash that can be done with the click of a button. So, I left the class with knowledge of how to carry out techniques much more efficiently. I got to keep a Flash book published by Lynda.com and the accompanying DVD, with exercises to apply the knowledge presented in class to actual program situations. I definitely would take another class at Sterling Ledet & Associates (if my employer agreed to sponsor me). Bonus perk: there is a Schlotzsky's right down the street from the Northlake Quadrangle. I only wish the class sign-up confirmation would have included such important information, so I would have known not to bring my lunch! read more

I completed the Adobe Dreamweaver Web Development Bootcamp Level 1. This included learning CSS and HTML5 basics. I was very impressed with the breadth and depth of knowledge of the Instructor. He was passionate about the software specifically and web development in general. He took a very technical subject and made it interesting and easy to follow. Being in a creative field some of the technical concepts were hard for me to grasp. He was patient and made sure I understood them before moving on. He also was great at sharing some of his real world experience, not in the book, with us. Which makes it clear why you want to take this class and not just read a book and go it alone at home! I would highly recommend this class for anyone who wants to learn Dreamweaver and the most current technology of web development! read more

I took the After Effects training and thought it was really great! It was definitely geared more toward people that are completely foreign to AE and really need to learn the basics, but all-in-all two thumbs up. You had the option to use Mac or Windows platform and the instructor walked you through every lesson. It was 3 days long and I feel that was the perfect amount of time for something this caliber. I would definitely recommend this training to someone who is interested in starting from scratch with graphics and special effects. read more

As far as instructors goes... you need look no further than Dan Margulis, who is without question the best in the business when it comes to Photoshop and color correction in general. If you can take a class taught by a Photoshop hall-of-famer you're definitely at the right place. Even besides the quality of instruction (which is the most important part), Sterling himself is a really good guy. Every interaction I've had with the people at Ledet Training has been positive. No COVID Refund... disappointing money grab. I booked to attend Adobe After Effects training in June. As a state employee, I wasn't allowed to attend the training due to virus crisis travel limitations. Tried to cancel and accept a $100 cancelation fee. Ledet employee convinced me to reschedule to an August date. Still, government travel was limited so I had to cancel. Now, because I re-scheduled, there is no refund of any money. The training is good -- because I attended a training with Ledet a couple years ago and was satisfied. But this no refund in the virus crisis seems very unethical and not al all customer focused. You lost me as a customer forever. read more

Last week, I had the pleasure of taking the Adobe CS5 Bootcamp class in Washington, DC. The class spanned 3 days and focused on a day of Photoshop, a day of Illustrator, and a day of InDesign. This amount of training and the way in which it was taught was perfect for the CS5 beginner. I am a manager of designers, and until I took the class, it was hard to understand exactly what they were working on or how to manage their workload. After taking this class, not only am I a better manager, I also can do lots myself! Susan, the instructor, was fantastic. She went at the perfect speed and slowed down for questions as needed. Susan has a wealth of Adobe experience combined with a background in classroom teaching, making her a perfect instructor for this software. From an administrative point of view, I had to reschedule a few times and Ledet worked quickly with me to work with my calendar issues. I look forward to taking more classes with Ledet as I expand my Adobe skillset. read more

I took an ActionScript class at ledet which could have been better. Basically our teacher seemed to be a little shy and couldn't keep the attention of all 4 of us in the class. So it ended up with all of us, teacher included, doing the exercises in the adobe book by ourselves. If I had known that at the time I would have just bought the book for $40 and done the exercises on my own. However, it was nice having someone I could ask questions and ultimately I walked away learning more than I would have on my own. read more

I completed the inDesign Bootcamp part I and have to report: Excellent instruction, facilities and staff. Having never used photoshop, illustrator or indesign before, I walked away with the confidence and the ability to use InDesign to create great-looking, functional material from scratch, and to use the program efficiently and creatively. I already feel like I have intermediate-level skill from just practicing what I learned at the beginner's two-day workshop. This class continues two more days as bootcamp part II, but I haven't been able to return yet due to my job. However, I definitely plan to! Ledet Training is in a convenient location, has a great facility, good customer service and registration, e-learning materials (and physical books), and great instructors. Maurice was our instructor and he was excellent - extremely talented, a wealth of information as well as able to connect with all students in the class, able to reach each individual's level of knowing and move all of us along with patience and humor, and able to provide real-life application knowledge. Plus he covered a great deal of material in two days! I definitely feel the value of this training outweighs the cost. A superb return on investment, and I highly recommend. read more

I just completed an Adobe After Effects motion graphics course at Sterling Ledet & Associates and I would highly recommend taking training with this company to anyone wanting to hone their professional graphic skills. The whole experience was great. The facilities were clean and comfortable. The staff were courteous and friendly. The instructor, Dean Velez was basically a guru -- not only was he an extremely knowledgeable and engaging instructor, but funny and patient with us all too. The projects we completed were amazing and I was amazed that we were able to build such phenomenal pieces in such a short time. I learned an awful lot in three days and was given the Adobe book to help cement that knowledge when I got home alone with my computer. I would definitely take another class at Ledet's! read more

Even if Ledet confirms your class, they still maintain the right to cancel the class if not enough people sign up (read the entire confirmation). I have had classes cancelled after I made travel plans (hotel and plane). I recommend not scheduling classes with Ledet if you have to travel to get there. read more

I took the after effects class at Ledet. These guys were really good. It's not cheap but it's well worth it. The instructor was fantastic. The greatest thing is the instructor is available after the classes are completed. If I have a question, I can call or email the instructor. That's huge. Classes are small so you can get one on one help if you need it. I highly recommend Ledet. read more
