Two weeks later we're told we have a new instructor just for the second day another family emergency occurs with her which isn't her fault. However the following day everyone is waiting outside the locked doors 15 minutes after class was supposed to start because no one's there! No lights, doors locked, no one was answering our calls, no emails or a heads up, nothing! Our class of 25 dropped to 8 that following week because the lack of unprofessionalism and communication was absurd. The one saving grace out of this school was our instructor Miss Terri. She went above and beyond making sure we weren't behind on our course due to the inconveniences that occurred that disrupted our learning days. She was patient, understanding, and lit up the classroom with her lively energy. If it wasn't for her I think the course would've been postponed again for god knows how long until they found another teacher on short notice, she saved my time and made sticking through the struggles worth it. I couldn't be more grateful but besides that I would not recommend. The lack of communication was terrible from the people in charge and even though Google reviews has a high rating (god knows how) I recommend going somewhere else for these kind of certifications. Yes it might cost a bit more but trust no low price is worth the headache and uncertainty.

I have been to General Assembly Atlanta two times now for different workshops and cannot be more…read moreimpressed with the business, location, accessibility, setup, and overall operations. The first workshop I attended was an intro to Adobe Illustrator. We had people of many different professional backgrounds in attendance. Although the class was beginner, they also answered the questions of those with a little more experience. When the presenter did not know the answer, the group may have chimed in to help. (Did I ever mention I love Atlanta) The most recent workshop I attended was the Transferable Skills workshop led by Nita Penn. This session was amazing! It was interactive, relevant, high energy, and applicable to our everyday lives. Nita was well prepared, fun, energetic, and inspiring. A lot of times we take workshops that work on our hard skills and it was nice that General Assembly scheduled something to help us learn about soft skills and how they can be transferable and applicable in various situations. I hope to see Nita continue to lead workshops at this location. I can guarantee that as she starts doing more workshops on various topics I will for sure be there with my friends! I am looking forward to building my personal and professional portfolio and am thankful for the opportunities that General Assembly is providing at such a reasonable cost.

But if you look past that and really throw yourself into your studies, it can work itself out. As far as the staff, some there are better suited as McDonald's cashiers than admin/staff at a technical school. It's not 100% terrible, however. There are also a few administrators there who are actually pretty cool. There are 3 professors there whom I'll never forget and to whom I'll always be grateful. It is because of those 3 people this school earned the extra star. Overall, if it is quality which you seek, then there are other schools in the metro that will give you more for your money. I wish I'd have done more research... but hopefully others will be able to learn from my unfortunate mistake.

He is not really a comedy guy at all, but he nailed it. So I signed for the class next day. I wasn't sure.. someone can teach me to write a joke, but as time pass by in Jeff's class, exactly 6 weeks later, I had my 5 minutes comedy routine to perform on stage. It was kind of magical. I didn't just learn how to write jokes but also worked on delivery, study different techniques, practice, had enormous help from Jeff's team, his feedback and support. I met new friends.. who were on the same page with me and created amazing memories on working with them on stage and off stage. Taking Jeff Justice workshop is an amazing experience and can be helpful to anyone with sense of humor or not. You don't believe, try it yourself! :)

Fine. How do I pay I asked? "Ummmm..... well you can just send me your info in an emai.....l I guess....."WTF? okay..... No thanks, I will just pay in person when I come. When I arrived Renee wasn't there and apparently neither was anyone else who could process my payment. Not only that -they were not ready for my daughter either and suggested that I take off and that she "hang out" there for about an hour and half with them. She's 8!! ok...... Surely they mean that there are some other kids perhaps in the same situation and they have some activities planned for them or something along those lines. I quickly figured out that was not the case as I watched the instructors skip out to lunch. Since no else said anything else to me I decided to sit and wait with my daughter until they returned and made time for her....A few days later I checked my bank account only to find that school of rock had charged me double. #$%^&*(. And when I called and spoke with the owners Mike and Renee, they cheerfully responded with sarcasm and reassured me again that "WE DONT GIVE A SHIT!!!!!" AND just to make sure that I got the message Mike sent me a cheerful email..with all exclaimation points..that he PERSONALLY DOESN"T GIVE 2 SHITS!!! . My next issue with these assclowns. After talking to my daughter I realized she was not receiving the private lessons I was paying for....so I emailed the owners. Who again treated me with zero respect. Ok, i get it. You are in a prime buckhead location, making money hand over fist and DONT GIVE A SHIT but really...that's just not cool. I emailed Mike AGAIN for my refund and this time he didn't respond with all all excamation points!! hey! Christina! We don't give a shit!!! So maybe I will get my well deserved refund. In the meantime, all the instructors seem nice and my mini me likes coming here..which makes the fact that owners don't care about customer service all the more incredibly frustating.

Magno ran the week long camp that my son attended and I was blown away at the end of camp concert. Not only was my son drumming in time, but he was playing like a rock star among his peers for the first time. During one song, he sang and drummed at the same time. This was all learned within a week. What?! The kids all show each other great love within the school. I have seen my son so proud of himself this last year, which in turn, makes me all the prouder. Payments are easily automatic withdrawals from my account. . I'm so thankful for the instructors that run this place! I can see my son staying here until he ages out at 18.
