I attended the Project Management Academy (PMA) PMP Boot Camp in Atlanta, GA on 16-19 Dec, 2019, taught by Mr. Michael A. Giacalone. Although a Boot Camp in its nature is very hectic, I quite enjoyed attending this particular one. PMA has a great PMP Preparatory course they've put together and I would recommend to anybody looking to attend a PMP Preparatory course to seriously consider doing so with PMA. Their course comes with a lot of useful text books including the PMBOK 6th Edition. The PMA recommended study plans are great to use as part of preparing for the exam and I would recommend them to anyone studying for their PMP exam. Mike did a great job in delivering the course material and I loved how he used a lot of real world examples during the teaching of the material. Thanks to Mike and the rest of the Project Management Academy staff for caring about your students and for availing yourselves to ensure that your students pass the PMP Exam! I would like to also highlight the PMA post-course PMP tutoring service for 2 hours every Friday afternoon at 3pm (EST). These webinars are a great way to connect with the PMA's knowledgeable PMP Instructors who answer questions and give invaluable tips on how to study effectively for the PMP exam. I would like to specifically give a shout-out to Michael J. Martin II, who is an outstanding Tutor. He goes way above the call of duty by spending more than the allocated 2 hour webinar time to ensure that his students have understood the concepts that trouble them. He then spends more of his time summarizing his entire webinar to send to any of his students that are interested in the summary. I must say the real icing on the cake with Mike though is that he also offers his time for free to his students on an ongoing basis. His availability through email for any questions I had during my preparation time was what ensured that I got an "Above Target" score on the PMP Exam! Thanks Mike! I attended Project Management Academy's Veterans Day Virtual PMP Boot Camp Nov 6-9 2017. Michael Strachan was a phenomenal instructor who overcomes the challenges of virtual training with enthusiastic presentation and entertaining examples of real-world experiences. His experience and professional background as a military officer was key in helping his audience relate experience to and gain a better understanding of PMP concepts. Karl Cheney was a superb co-instructor who was instrumental in responding to Q&A and helping to close knowledge gaps. I took a Skillsoft mock exam and 4 Project Management Academy mock exams including the boot camp mock exam for a total of 5 mock exams. The PMA boot camp gave me the extra "umph" I needed to be a first time go on the PMP exam! I took a week following the boot camp to review areas of weakness and take 2 of those PMA mock exams to ensure I had the endurance and was prepared on exam day. Michael and Karl both made themselves available post-boot camp which was also very helpful! I also utilized a couple of PMA's online training videos to build up my weaker areas. Overall an outstanding experience, I highly recommend Project Management Academy and I will use them for other courses in the future! read more

I had a great experience with Project Management Academy. I took the virtual 4 day class held over two weekends in January. The class was really choc full of content and by Sunday each weekend I was pretty fried. However, the class was well designed and the content was perfect for the test. PMA provided excellent training materials and their website was great for practice questions in preparation for the exam. My instructor was Gary Lind. Gary was awesome! He kept the class lively relating his own personal work experiences as a project manager and was able to provide his personal examples to the 47 processes that PMI tests on. I really appreciated Gary's candor about how difficult the test was going to be and his suggestions for memorizing the key concepts and processes. Another great thing about Gary is that he is available for questions and assistance after the class was completed. I emailed him several times asking for his input and he always responded promptly. The best part about the class is that it is totally effective. I took the test the 2nd week in February and PASSED on my first attempt. I highly recommend PMA for the prep class and if you're fortunate to get Gary Lind as your instructor you'll have it made! read more

I took the 4 day boot camp in the beginning of January 2019 and passed the PMP exam above average my first attempt on February 16. It was a 6 week journey and I attribute my success to PMA. First I would recommend getting your application approved or at least substantially complete before the Boot Camp. The application is a hurdle unto itself and its helped me focus on studying once the Boot Camp was complete. Shika Carter did a great job teaching the Boot Camp. I came into it not being well versed on the PMBOK content. The information is daunting and her outline helped provide a framework that was easier to digest. She took her time answering our questions and emphasizing important information which I know the class appreciated. In addition to the boot camp, the content online is invaluable. As I got deeper into my studying I found the content online and mock tests very helpful. I can say the boot camp material, online content and the PMBOK as a reference was all I needed to pass this test. Lastly, they give you the material to succeed, but you have to put in a lot of effort to pass. Don't go into this casually. Be fully committed from the beginning. read more

I took the first PMP Boot Camp Class after the test changed in January 2016. The class was January 11-14, and my instructor was Shika Carter. I took the test on February 6, 2016 and passed the PMP exam on the first attempt. I can't tell you how outstanding Shika Carter was. She gave a very detailed explanations of all of the material, effective ways to put the content into the correct perspective, and tips to use when studying. She took extra time with those who were having difficulty grasping certain concepts, while keeping the pace moving for the rest of the class. She understands the entire body of knowledge extremely well and explains how to use the PMBOK effectively in studying for the exam. The course materials that I received were excellent. They had been updated to include the new material to use in preparing for the exam. The PMA website contains so much useful information including the practice exams. I highly recommend PMA as your source for preparing for the PMP. If you can get Shika Carter as your instructor, you will be well prepared and really understand the material. Two months ago I had not the foggiest idea what a PMP certification was. As a transitioning military officer I had been successfully leading and managing programs for over 15 years without any certification. As this certification is highly desired when searching for a new career, I had little time to study and earn my certification. I immediately signed up for this boot camp in Atlanta to assist me in my venture. I had not opened the PMBOK before I started the class, but five days after the instruction I passed! The course was amazing in highlighting the areas that I needed help in and proved instrumental in my overall success. PMBOK does have it unique approach to program management and this course was able to break it down into understandable pieces. Anyone who has little to know knowledge on the PMP test, PMBOK guide, or program management in general will befit greatly from taking this course. I took the PMP Boot Camp class 3 weeks ago and passed the PMP exam last week - first attempt. The boot camp was a great investment of time and money. I could not have passed the exam by just reading the PMBOK and studying on my own. Gary Lind is an excellent instructor. He understands the PMBOK material thoroughly as well as the structure and nuances of the certification exam. The in-class exercises and practice exam strongly reinforce the material that's covered in the class. The online practice exams that are taken after the boot camp, in preparation for certification, are excellent preparation for the real thing. Don't cut corners on the practice exams - you will need the experience to get through the certification. Everyone I have dealt with at Project Management Academy are helpful and professional. The Project Management Academy Boot Camp, as well as my Trainer, John Dokos, gave me the exact foundation and background I needed in order to complete my PMP exam. The class itself was intense but very well done, and the information provided was outstanding. The resources provided to help me prepare for the actual exam were phenomenal. Can't say enough about Gary Lind's quality of instruction and the care for his students that he demonstrated. Gary delivered not only a phenomenal boot camp, but also went above and beyond to provide a ton of actionable, extracurricular advice regarding the timing and content of my application. Due to the challenges with Pearson VUE center scheduling (the end of the year test change, upcoming holidays, pandemic, etc.), I was forced to sign up for an exam date that was 2-3 weeks earlier than I wanted. I was only able to take 1 practice exam and had to cram really hard for the 48 hrs. prior to the real exam. Since my job has me living a long distance away from any PMA on-site training, I took the 2 weekend online PMA PMP Boot Camp. However, the best part of this is that while Gary Lind was not my Boot Camp instructor, I reached out to him after one of his great tutoring sessions. Gary was awesome - he was so dedicated to support me and offer me guidance and advice to retake the PMP exam given many challenges at my current location. I recently attended the Project Management Academy PMP Boot Camp sessions conducted by trainer Gary Lind. Gary had in-depth knowledge on the topic. He was able to combine his real-life work experience with some of the difficult topics to make it a fun experience to learn and easy to remember. He had a lot of patience to answer questions from all the students without being in a hurry or rushing it. He also taught various test-taking skills that apply to a wide variety of tests, including PMP. If not for Gary's training, I would not have gotten "Above Target" in all the tested areas of PMP. I participated in PMA's PMP exam prep bootcamp in January and just passed the exam. My success on the first try is due in a large part to the instructor, John Dokos. Great instructor, virtual training class and very helpful online practice tests. I wasn't able to read PMBOK before the exam, but I had CAPM a long time ago. Gary Lind is a great instructor. I received the course materials before the class, took as many notes as I could while Gary was teaching the class during the first 3 days of the class, took the mock up exams and took notes while Gary was reviewing the test results. Took 2 practice exams, reviewed Gary's notes ans suggestions. Sure enough I wasn't surprised during the exam that I took couple days after the course and passed the exam. I attended the virtual PMP boot camp online at the end of June, but fell into a slow motion to prepare the examination and felt frustrated to the inefficient study without a good plan. Fortunately, I attended his Friday's PMA online tutorial and sent several questions about my preparation. Gary Lind, Instructor with the Project Management Academy does it again! 17 people took the PMP class in mid June to prepare for the Project Management Professional Accreditation. So far the class is 2 for 2 with several more people taking the exam within the next 10 days. Gary is an excellent and knowledgeable instructor. I attended the Project Management Academy PMP Bootcamp taught by Gary Lind the last week in January. I passed my exam February 21st. I know that without the bootcamp course I would not have been able to pass this exam on my first try!
