Omg! The workers here makes the material, easy to understand and provides unique strategies for tackling certain types of problems. The post course assessment was great to provide some structure on how to study after the course ends and before the real exam. It's also great that Manhattan Prep offers a post exam assessment if you don't meet your score goals so you know what to focus on to prepare for the next exam. The GMAT test is a pain in the butt! Thinking about it now is still congers up some pretty awful memories. After a few weeks of attempting to study for the test on my own, I made the same choice many in my position do, and I reluctantly signed up for a very expensive class. Ultimately, this turned out to be a great decision. The Good: James, the Atlanta instructor, is why this review gets five stars. He is fantastic. He teaches the required curriculum, but then he goes beyond that and helps students understand the test, the best guessing strategies, and even those pesky math fundamentals that I have not used since high school. What I feel set this class apart from experiences my peers have had with other companies, is that James was always available. Even 4 months after the class, when I it was Steve vs. the GMAT, round II, I still got help with my GMAT questions via email. The online tutorial sessions are also fantastic. You can use them to supplement your in class and at home work, and ensure that you stay on track. What I liked most about them, is that they tended to be very personalized. The attendance was low, so it was typically a 3:1 ratio, which provided a very interactive learning environment. My only complaint about the class, is that they don't have a very solid "guarantee." After my first try at the test, I needed more help, and though James was available to answer specific questions, and the online materials were at my finger tips, I would have appreciated a chance to sit for more live classes. I took this class after already taking the GMAT 3 times. I had scored 620, 610 and 630 so this was my last attempt to improve my score. I honestly thought at best I would score 650 / 660 after taking the class but ended up scoring 690! Now I can apply to the schools of my choice. James is an excellent instructor and he does make the class interesting right from the start. If you go to every class and complete all the weekly homework I really feel you can score in the high 600s or low 700s. This class is that good! On a side note I took a different course through a Groupon deal last year called "Manhattan Elite" and they sucked. I guess when you pay peanuts you get monkeys. All in all, if you are serious about improving your GMAT score, this course is worth every penny. Thank you James and MGMAT! read more

Manhattan GMAT was well worth the money. At first, they gave me so many prep materials that I didn't know how I would get through them all. But now, nearly 8 months later as I approach my goal score, I'm starting to exhaust them. I want to give a shout out to two people in particular who assisted me: my in-person instructor in Atlanta, Chris Gentry, and my post-course evaluator, J.R. Tomkinson. Chris is flat out brilliant--hopefully he doesn't read this and get a big head--but it's the truth. And what I like about his approach is that aside from just teaching you math and verbal, he teaches you how to beat the test with an array of psychological and tactical strategies that go far beyond what you learned in school. J.R. Tomkinson did my post-course evaluation with me and he was quite encouraging. After I missed the mark on my first real test, he helped me identify areas to grow in. One disclaimer--just because you take Manhattan GMAT doesn't mean you'll get a 700 or above. It's not that simple. It comes down to a combination to your own test-taking abilities and the amount of time you spend prepping. In my case, I saw my score jump 100 points from my first full-length test to my most recent official GMAT. And that's not uncommon. But you can't blame Manhattan Prep if you don't reach the "magic number" of 700. All that said, I think it's definitely worth the cash. read more

I would Highly recommend using Manhattan GMAT for your GMAT preparations. Studying for the GMAT was a mental / emotional roller coaster, and I could not have gotten through it without the help of Chris and James, the two Atlanta instructors. I took an in-person class with Chris, and really enjoyed his teaching style. He is very interactive, and mixes in advice about the test / test-taking strategies along with lessons on the actual test content. The resources that came with the class were also amazing, and completely indispensable to my test preparation. After I took the class, I signed up for some one-on-one tutoring sessions with James. He was incredibly helpful, especially in pinpointing my weaknesses and relatively easy areas I can improve & pick up more points. The class helped me gain the content knowledge I needed, and James helped me with my personal test-taking strategy. I could not recommend this more. After studying for a month with a Peterson's guide I picked up from Borders, I scored a miserable 580. I was not prepared at all, and realized I had made a poor choice of a study guide. i didn't think they differed that much. I was on a tight schedule (I had two months before I needed to submit my scores), so I chose the MGMAT self guided gmat prep plus package, and followed the syllabus closely for about a month and a half. i was hoping for a 640-660 based on my practice exam scores, but I came out with a 710! It will take some work, many hours of work, but the payoff is HUGE. I wish I hadn't wasted the time with other study guides. MGMAT is the way to go, you'll be fully prepared. I couldn't believe my eyes when my score popped up. Now I'm able to apply to top 10 schools that I otherwise would never have given a second thought to. read more

I had been "studying" for the GMAT for almost 18 months when I finally bit the bullet and signed up for ManhattanPrep's GMAT course. It was worth literally every penny, and the instructor, Chris, was a lifesaver. I jumped 110 points from my diagnostic test in just 4 months. I give a strong recommendation to the Manhattan GMAT preparation course. After completing the 9 week classroom course, I took the official test and scored 710. This course was simply phenomenal. The instructor was extraordinary while the books and class were excellent. Quick Story: I arrived at MGMAT having read books by Kaplan and Princeton. My practice GMAT scores had made it into the mid-600 range, but they were stuck there. As it turned out, I was missing quite a bit that MGMAT helped me work through. Both my verbal and my quant scores increased significantly...allow me to quantify. I took the actual GMAT exactly 5 days after completing the class. My practice scores had increased steadily from the beginning to the end of the course, but I never expected the actual result...a 760. That's right, a 760! Without MGMAT I would never have applied to the schools that are now within my reach. Just this week I have received invitations from two top-10 B-schools (and it's only Tuesday!). I 100% recommend Manhattan GMAT. I had previously studied for the GMAT but not to the level I needed, so I turned to Manhattan. Due to work and the inability to commit to in-person classes, I bit the bullet and was assigned a tutor, James (from Atlanta). James was tremendous. 100% recommend this class. It brought structure and process to not only individual problems but my study strategy as a whole. James makes the class enjoyable and as strange as it sounds, Mondays from 6:30-9:30 were the bright spot of my studying week. A lot of the course quant material especially is more difficult than the actual GMAT, which is great because you feel more at ease during the actual exam. My friends had a lot of great things to say about their own MGMAT experiences, and they set my expectations extremely high going in. After my first few MGMAT classes and MGMAT practice tests, I was a little disappointed with the scores. However, after the real test, I was quite pleased with my official score! I think the MGMAT practice tests were harder than the real thing, but they definitely made me work harder during the class. I really enjoyed the class and the challenge of trying to explain the logic of my responses to others. That was something I never would've gotten studying on my own.
