MOOD: On the hunt for Oregon souvenirs. REVIEW: This is my 2nd visit to this Love's. It's so clean and spacious inside! The employees were friendly and I was able to get some snacks quickly and get back on the road. My only negative was that they had the exact same postcards and souvenirs that were there in the Fall of 2025. I looked all over Oregon for souvenirs and postcards! Not a deal breaker, obvi, just a bit sad. Looking forward to my 3rd visit here in the near future. Just fingers crossed they will have updated their inventory of Oregon souvenirs. :) Stop by Love's!

The guy asked if I wanted to use my 10 cents off a gal, and I said yes. For whatever reason, I eventually looked at the receipt and see that I did not get my 10 cents off, even though it says I did. I contacted Safeway, and it was like "bummer, nothing we can do about it," so today I went to Philomath customer service and the woman treated me like I was an idiot. The guy who manned the pumps was fairly friendly and was used to people from other areas who were not used to the process. He was reasonably efficient and kept up a conversation about it while he filled up my car. I appreciated his help. On the whole, though, this strikes me as appallingly stupid. It is reason #1 that I would not live in Oregon. Why not extend this to restaurants as well - hire some additional people who cut up and feed you your food. That makes equally as much sense... I appreciated this station even more later in our trip, when another station attendant, managed to pull the nozzle out early (for whatever reason), spill gas all over the cement, and then require me to do a 2nd credit card authorization to complete the fill-up (prior to returning the rental car the following morning). I'm not the sharpest guy on the planet, but I do not recall having done this maneuver. If you have to visit Oregon, just be prepared for this. I was at least satisfied with the service at this Chevron in Covallis, though.

In a pinch visited here yesterday, pulled in, asked for $10 in gas on the card. We were informed that the minimum for a card is $15, no problem, asked for $15. Asked the guy if he would mind washing the windshield. His response was, "Nope." Our response, "excuse me?" His response, I'm only making like $.15 on this sale so no." "Okay.... so would you mind if I used your squeegee?" NO ANSWER. So louder, "Can I use your squeegee?" he just pointed and said it's over there. There happens to be Marines stuff in a few place, I was thinking to myself that i would never imagine saying that a Marine is lazy but this guy is lazy. Maybe he's not the Marine. Either way, he made $.15 off us that day and lost any future business that he would ever get from us. Living half way between the Mill City and the Lyons gas station, we will make sure to go to the Mill City station from now on. What happened to the days when people just valued a hard days work and that was part of the reward. If you need a better profit, then you mark your prices to get that profit, don't punish me for your business plan.
