Stopped in today on the recommendation of a family member. Oddly empty for a weekend--only one other customer. Asked a salesperson named Gail to sell us chairs that we could on their website. Total would have been about $2k, over and done in ten minutes. Gail derided them as "imports" (even though most of the stuff in the showroom is made overseas), showed us nearly everything else in the store, and ultimately pressed us to buy chairs that were literally 10x more expensive than the ones we asked about. Every time we asked about the ones we wanted she told us about something far more expensive. As we left, she offered to print out data sheets about both chairs. She gave us the sheet for the super-expensive chairs, but somehow forgot to include the sheet for our first choice. I have zero faith that any deal with these people would go as expected and I'll never buy anything from them. read more

First off, you won't be allowed to browse without being hounded by a sales person following you around. Yes they had some good information, but I couldn't look at anything or even keep up with the rest of my family because the sales lady wouldn't stop talking. Also, there was an African American couple in there the same time as us and this longer haired sales guy/owner I didn't catch his name, actually told them they "segregate" customers "not by color of course" but by "style." Due to covid there were some expected delays but Mitch was more than willing to give us a status report. After going through 4 sets in 14 years, we were determined to learn just what goes into a long lasting, high quality piece of living room furniture. For a long lasting sofa/sectional, you should look for: 8 way hand tied springs, kiln dried hardwood frame, and cushions that are both replaceable (not sewn onto the sofa) and refillable (because any cushion material that's comfortable will eventually need to be replaced.) Solid construction is key to a long lasting sofa. We went to all of the major furniture stores in the area, spoke with countless sales reps, and left each time feeling dissatisfied. Often, a sales rep didn't know their product and couldn't tell me anything about it's inner materials and construction. Reps at PB with 18 years of experience selling their furniture? Couldn't tell me a thing. Right off the bat, Mitch (owner of Leathers) greeted us and pummeled my senses with his New Yorkers personality. We told him we didn't think leather was our best choice, due to having two cats. He was quite abrasive with his insistance of how wrong we were. My eyebrows raised quite high, I tell you. But he begged me to hear him out, so we did. What we learned from Mitch was incredible, and he knew exactly what we needed. He was able to show us actual models of the interior construction of his sofas, went over each material and how/why it's chosen, down to the manufacturer and where they source their materials. He was patient with us as we considered what we wanted, as I was personally quite picky and conflicted on color options. We eventually landed on a beautiful Campio Legacy Italian leather sectional. Our sectional is stunning and everything we wanted. Surprisingly, a cats claws don't really puncture thick, high quality leather, and the superficial scratches just rub out! While on the search for a new dining room set today we noticed yet another "Tent Sale" sign here this weekend. Since they already had the furniture in the parking lot I figured it couldn't be too much of a waste of my time and boy was I wrong. My first stop was the huge tent in the parking lot. I made my way through the entire thing without once being acknowledged. There were no "hellos", "let me knows", nothing. It was like I was completely invisible during my entire stroll through the tent. As if my self esteem wasn't destroyed enough I decided to waste even more time inside the building. It seems I was again invisible because inside someone who appeared to be the owner of the business was screaming like a child denied his favorite thing in the world. Apparently one of his employees had made him mad enough to not see me. This confirmed my decision to get the hell out of this place as his people skills are very lacking and I could not imagine things getting any better if I purchased anything from him. Based on the mixed reviews, I wanted to share my own experience to hopefully help others. My husband and I have spent hours/days here. If you're looking for high quality leather furniture, this is the place to go. The owner, Mitch, is super knowledgeable and passionate about his leather. But there's so many non leather goods to choose from as well. And they have cool, unique pieces that give you the wow factor. You will not be disappointed with the quality of the products which is real leather, solid wood, and well-built chairs and tables. You will see a huge difference when you compare the furniture here with many of the other retailers. There are a lot of amazing, beautiful furniture at Leathers. I also wanted to address the negative reviews on customer service. The salespeople are incredibly knowledgeable and they are not your typical high turnover salespeople. Mitch in particular will talk your ear off about which materials are great and the pros/cons for what you are looking for. I can see how he may come across as rude, abrasive, etc but he is actually a very kind soul. If you prefer a softer style, you should ask for Cynthia or Corbin. Mitch's staff has remained loyal to him for many years so that is very telling. Mitch is great and he's kind of like what you'd expect from an inappropriate but fun and crazy uncle. If you accept him exactly how he is he's a hoot! He truly cares about helping you find exactly what you want. He wants you to love your furniture. He has spent hours combing through all of his furniture manufacturers inventory to find me something that is perfect for me. Not very many places would take that much effort. He is old school so you need to know that going in. He believes in quality and wants things to last forever like it's supposed to. Spent about 1 1/2 hours here a few years ago before buying two recliner chairs They have a ton of recliners, so I wanted to take my time and make the right decision. After an hour, the owner came to the sales rep standing with us and said, "So what's going on here? Are we going to make a sale, or what?" (one star lost - rude owner.) Despite his attitude, we went through with the purchase. Spent about $5,000. 10 weeks later we got a call that the furniture had arrived. To avoid paying the delivery fee, we rented a truck and picked up the furniture ourselves. We were told to drive to the warehouse. The warehouse guy pointed to our furniture, which was wrapped; we picked it up and drove home. Upon opening it, the recliner was a (hideous) orange leather, not the beautiful brown we thought we'd ordered. Rather than complain to the owner -- we'd seen how he interacted with the public -- we figured we must have made a poor choice on the color. We went on with our lives. Ten weeks later, yes, you read that right -- 10 WEEKS later -- we got a call from them. There had been a mistake, they said, and we had picked up the wrong chair. (second star lost -- inept warehouse people.) Our chair was still sitting in the warehouse, and we'd taken someone else's (hideous) orange leather chair. Can it be!?!?! You mean we don't have to see this (hideous) orange chair the rest of our lives?!?! You mean someone actually ORDERED this color!!!?? Imagine our delight! Until they asked if we could just bring it back to them, and then we take our chair from the warehouse. Um. Well, I said, since it was their mistake, and since we spent $80 and 2 hours renting a truck, bringing it down, would they be willing to come pick it up and deliver ours at the same time? His answer? "No. We don't do that." (3rd star lost -- rep being a dick.) Well, you send people home with the wrong furniture, and wait weeks to tell them, so, maybe you should reconsider your position here. My husband later contacted them and the sales guy said, "Your wife said you'd come get it." When all else fails, lie. What are the odds a husband and wife will ever talk and compare stories? After having an amusing few minutes discussing the options, my husband finally said, well, you can either come and get it and bring me mine, or pay for the rental truck and my 2 hours, or you can explain to the person that they aren't getting their (hideous) orange leather chair. Guess what? Yeah, miracle of miracles, they were able to pick up the offending orange chair and bring us ours. Everyone happy? Problem solves? Apologies all around? No. As they were bringing our chair in, one of the guys said, "The other lady was really nice about not getting her chair on time. SOME people don't get uptight about things." (4th star lost -- just rude...and petty.) Wow. Dayam, dude. Thought we were being pretty darn cool about having to living with a (hideous) orange chair for 10 weeks and then having you play games with us in order to get ours. But no. In any case. They win. They don't ever have to deal with us again. By the way, the leather chair is well made and comfortable but the linen-covered custom one is badly done and is quite uncomfortable and has a lean to it when sitting. He checked back in and I had some questions of which he answered thoroughly and politely. He spent time figuring out what I liked and what I needed in selecting some bedside tables. My girlfriend and I moved here to Issaquah around December and we needed a new higher-end leather couch. We decided to stop by here and take a look. We had walked in the door and started looking around their store. We had been stopped by an older women that had mentioned when we were looking to buy. I replied "about a week or so" and she quickly took my girlfriend and I and redirected us to their store across the street and said "they have would have more there in your price range have fun". Actually found a beautiful dining table that my husband and I both fell in love with at the recent "tent sale" All was fine untill we went and picked it up the next day. Being as it was pooring down rain etc, and they were going to charge and addition 1++. to deliver less than 2 miles away they wrapped in plastic etc. Upon getting our table (which we carefully reviewed the day we purchased and had not seen till it was in our house) we discovered large scratches on the table surface. We immediatly took pictures and went back at which time we were given many different points of view from how the owner personally wrapped with plastic and they were not there to how does he know we did not put them their since he did not deliver to they were there and we just did not see them... REALLY.. for the price we paid I would have expected a compromise or a little bit of courtasy rather than being left to fell like tough xxxx. I drove to Seattle to explore home furnishings options. We where blown away by the diversity and cool stuff at Leathers. They had so much variety that we hadnt seen in the average furniture store. We wanted some of those pieces that we love in our catalogue from that overpriced catalogue store, and Leathers not only had the big leather sofas, with hundreds of leathers, but they had some of the reclaimed wood we love. I personally , being in sales, found a level of product knowledge that was reminiscent of the old ma and pa store will people cared. The owner and his staff where interactive and he is a hoot. Sense of humor mingled with a knowledge of design and options, made us not only buyers, but like family. Leathers has so much more then leather furniture. We purchased a monster sectional with a wax leather for 25 % less then where we seen it everywhere else. We wound up ordering a fabric headboard and the most amazing desk from a line called Theodore Alexander. Simply stated,, we are happy campers. Check them out if your tired of some of the hard sell drones at some of these big chain stores or over priced boutiques. Two months ago my wife and I were on the hunt for a new couch, our first stop was Leathers in Issaquah. Walking in the store my wife gravitated towards a leather sectional that was pretty much exactly what we wanted, we sat in it and my wife looked at me with a "can we please buy this" stare. We were greeted and welcomed by someone who took the time to play with my son while educating us on the difference between leathers. Myself being in sales, I was not interested in buying as this was our first stop and I wanted to look around elsewhere before even entertaining the thought to purchase. We left Leathers to visit literally every big corporate chain in the Seattle area only to find out that they had exactly what we wanted in the first place. After an afternoon wasted and one cracking child, we went back to Leathers and bought our couch. Frankly, they had the best customer service, the best attitude and were willing to help us get the right couch for our home. We just went back today and purchased a new dining room table with chairs, they actually remembered us. I would highly recommend Leathers to anyone looking for quality furniture. read more

Well... where to begin? We are your typical consumers - want high quality, solid construction, good treatment, and all at a fair price. Here's what we got - the summary version. Great quality (solid-wood north-american construction) with gorgeous leatherwork; exceptionally polite service from Mitch (owner); and a true-to-the-trade negotiation experience. Here's the details: we researched all the ratings online, Yelp, Google, Checkbook, etc. and headed to Leathers in Issaquah. Upon entry, we were met by a shirt-tails-out, way-unbuttoned, hairy chested, bearded, longhaired Woodstock throwback look-alike - named Mitch (the owner it turns out). Don't judge a book... He spent 4 solid hours explaining every aspect of furniture construction, history, differences between manufacturers, various qualities, leatherwork processes, etc. He also regaled us with countless interesting and entertaining stories about just about everything under the sun...some of them even pertaining to furniture. I'm pretty much a no-nonsense, get in and get out kind'a person...and don't relate well to someone's penchant for story telling. Mitch was the exception - his stories woven around furniture, national and global politics, etc. were highly entertaining and educational. Four hours later...we purchased what we sat in/on in the first 10 minutes of our visit. Mitch was/is an amazing and unique character...well worth the price of admission. We'd be remiss if we didn't get to the negotiation piece of the equation. Mitch held a firm line, and we finally wrote a check... our initial mistake. We went home and did some homework now that we had the details of what we were buying. We called Mitch back the next day and, after a spirited discussion - met in the middle. Fair for both. I don't fault Mitch for this - he has a right to negotiate...just as much as we do. But... I will advise to anyone still reading - do your homework and go in with an informed position - and get ready to be completely entertained. Would we buy again from Mitch? But mostly, I enjoyed the commitment and sense of humor (frequently lacking in most furniture stores) from the owner, Mitch. What a surprise today to actually enjoy furniture shopping. We've browsed for years but never bought anything until recently. We went in to browse again after seeing a TV ad and met Corbin, who greeted us and left us alone when we said we just wanted to look around (we appreciated that). After we decided to engage him, Corbin walked us through the process of getting exactly what we wanted in some leather furniture (style, grade of leather, etc.) and set clear expectations on the shipment date range and any factors that could move it sooner or later. He was incredibly friendly and helpful and we've since bought a few more things through him (and will continue to ask for him). We also got to meet Mitch (the owner) a few times who's also been helpful as he adds the color commentary. Mitch knows his stuff and tells it how it is. She was very knowledgable, kind and easy to work with. She is also very creative so I felt like her advice made it easier for me to make my choices. I purchased a sofa, oversized chair, ottoman and a set of custom throw pillows and I love them and get a ton of compliments on them. My husband and I bought a sofa 1 1/2 years ago from Leathers. The batting on the frame started to sag, it was super noticeable. I truly went in with little hope of resolving the problem but Mitch, the owner, did not hesitate for a second. He said "that's not right and we will fix it." We had Edd, the repair man who is awesome, pick it up 2 weeks ago and returned it today, clean, fixed and looking like new. It is so rare these days to have companies stand behind their product in such a positive way with no haggling or aggravation. Have been a customer for over 20 years but will not be back unfortunately. While the leather furniture is beautiful, and our most recent custom order was executed perfectly, the covered buttons on the (expensive) footstool started popping out in the first year. This was in spite of being covered with a doubled up wool Pendleton blanket to protect it from feet (and no shoes allowed in the house). I submitted an on line request for assistance, no response after a month. I call and spoke to Mitch who was happy to hear from me until he found out I was calling about a problem, and suddenly he was 'swamped with customers' and too busy to talk, asked me to send an email. No response, nor to a follow up email. It has been 6 months now. I did not ask for a replacement or to make a claim, just advice on how to repair or proceed since it now unsightly. I want to like this store, I really do. I've been sofa shopping and liked the idea of buying from a local store instead of a chain. I also think they do offer better quality at slightly lower prices then the chain stores like Pottery Barn or Restoration Hardware. Some of the sales staff are even moderately helpful BUT the owner is rude, rude, rude. I don't know how anyone works for him and he makes me not want to step foot in that store. He didn't listen, talked over me and was in general, insulting. I was told after not being sure that I was seeing exactly what I wanted to buy for my living room that "no one your age should spend this much time thinking about a sofa." Really? So I'm supposed to just spend over $5000 and commit to this thing being in my main living space for many years without thinking about it? Great sales pitch. He should leave the sales to his staff. We purchased a leather couch, love seat and matching leather ottoman from Leathers five years ago and have had nothing but problems with the furniture. Fortunately, for the first several issues that came up (i.e. flaw in the leather, sagging cushions that wouldn't stay upright and weren't filled properly) we bought the leather protection warranty and were able to get them resolved (which was NOT an easy process). Once the warranty was up, the stitching on the side of the couch started coming un-done and when we contacted Leathers about this they were no help in providing a solution since the warranty was up. In the last year or so all the paint on the leather has started peeling on the sofa and love seat and it looks awful. You would never guess looking at our furniture that it was bought from a specialty leather furniture store. We've contacted Leathers about the "peeling" issue to ask if they are aware of ways to stop the peeling and have the leather repaired and never heard back. For what we spent on this furniture we have been SO dissatisfied with the quality and expected much more, not to mention expected the furniture's life span to last longer than 4 years. I've had a couch from Costco that has held up significantly better than our stuff from Leathers. I highly recommend purchasing from somewhere else. read more
