If you want to buy leather apparel you head to San Francisco. And in San Francisco if you want leather apparel you head to the Folsom Street area in SoMa. Now you have a couple of choices. Mr. S is famous in the Leather Community for high quality, custom pieces and is always fun to browse. The downside is that it can be pretty pricey. Ok, very pricey. You get what you pay for but...ouch. Nearby is Leather Etc. which offers similar goods but at a fraction of the cost. If Mr. S is Nieman Marcus, then Leather Etc is Target. I don't mean that as an insult because the market needs both options, and on my latest trip to the City by the Bay I was in the Target budget range. While their selection isn't as good as Mr. S, Leather Etc. still had a wide range of clothing for both men and women, and in sizes that would accommodate my "bearish" frame. The clerk might not have known the meaning behind the different colors of piping his products came in, but was friendly and accommodating helping me search out the clothes I wanted, suggesting alternate products and was available without being pushy. I found a shirt that I wanted, but after noticing a slight defect in the leather he was willing to knock 10 percent off the bill. If I were competing for International Mr. Leather I might want something higher in quality, but for occasionally dressing up "high cow" this shirt will fit the bill nicely without sending me to the poor house. Amazing place! The staff is extremely friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. My girlfriend and I are used to sex shops and these type of stores but I know many aren't. This is a great place to go if you're new or just want some help figuring out what you want in terms of items. I'd say Leather Etc is nicer (in terms of friendliness and atmosphere) than good vibrations, definitely more so than Mr S (Sorry, some staff there are kinda rude or unapproachable but there are plenty of others who are awesome). They have a wide selection of outfits, toys, and restraints. A lot of their inventory is actually done in house. This was great because we got a custom restraint made for my girlfriend that was pretty reasonably priced. We also got a gag's harness reduced in size to fit her better. The adjustment was just cutting some leather off and reattaching the clasp, that was free and done in minutes. Though Mr S has a wider selection of higher end toys like vacuums, inflatables, and dildos... Leather Etc wins out for outfits, flexibility, and customer service because of their amazing commission work and just how awesome their staff is. This is a must go to store for everyone! read more

I have bought several jackets here and loved them. The lambskins especially are really nice. I saw a very similar lambskin jacket I bought for $80 here on a Macy's rack for $400. If you are into the leather or BDSM cultures this your superstore. They have everything leather - both kinky and vanilla.
