My son has been going to the North Long Beach location since May 2025 due to delays in some areas in development skills (fine motor, etc). His therapist since coming here has been Ms. Pau, who has been very attentive, detailed, and empathetic/understanding in therapy, especially breaking down what and how each weekly activity helps and improves his development skills. Since then, my son has made massive improvements such as being able to dress himself, button his shirts/pants, using zippers, brushing his teeth, tying shoes, every day living tasks. Ms. Pau is amazing and always ensures my son feels comfortable, safe, and heard, but also uplifts and encourages him when he used to give up on tasks. This place is a joke. One of the instructors (who my son just loved!!) left on maternity leave & ever since she left my son has been without classes. There's NO shame on the instructor, having 2 kids & myself, I get it. But not having someone to replace the instructor with the establishment KNOWING that they will be temporarily loosing an employee is so irresponsible. They don't even try to work with your schedule & instead give you the run around. "We are completely full up & we will be hiring in the next couple weeks." They really don't care about any of the kids' progress... at all !!! Don't even get me started on the front desk. I tried to see if they have any other time slots available as 3:30 is the absolute worst time in the world. Their response ? "I have 5 pm on friday" - clearly they don't listen when I told them I need mornings ! & they only give an hour's notice if the class is cancelled. I work in Irvine & live in Long Beach. I get a text at the last minute - these guys have no consideration at all. I gave up on this place & going to a different speech pathologist instead. read more

I've been going here for about almost 5 years and can only say nothing but good things about this therapy center. Both of my kids needed speech and I've had 2 wonderful therapist. I have been really heartbroken when Miss Emily left. I didn't think it was going to affect us but it did because from the moment she left, the following wks later I was always getting calls that Zara's session was being canceled and then they would give me an option to come the next day which is Friday and I don't live anywhere near there which is the reason why I chose Thursday from 11-11:50pm. They offered me Friday a couple times at 9am in the mornings. That is absolute traffic time coming from my area. It's been almost a month or so and Zara has only been seen twice so she's been canceled at least 3 times. They just left me a voicemail yesterday (Wed) just a day before her session to tell me that they have to place Zara on hold because they can't seem to find anyone to see her. I'm really disappointed and sad because Zara Was making great strides with Miss Emily. read more

My son Aiden has been going here since January 2024 with Ms. Rachel to help assist him with basic needs such as teeth brushing, socialization, learning to dress himself, and drinking from a cup. This is solely on our experience with Miss Lauren, my grandson loved seeing her and enjoyed his sessions with her. She was very kind, friendly, understanding and very patient with him. She did an amazing job with him; you could see the difference almost immediately in his speech. If you have Kaiser - be cautious. I've been reaching out to the front desk and spoke with Anna who advised me that I would need to speak with Sarah to do scheduling. I've been reaching out for weeks at least once a week to confirm availability and not received any type of communication or follow up. The last timed I called she asked me was my child named MORON.. and even spelled it out. I have been told that Sarah would reach out to me. It's been weeks haven't heard from them. I hope no one experiences what I experienced just trying to get therapy for my child. Be Cautious of this location. My daughter has been to the Harbor city location and they are great. I cant thankyou enough to the teachers/therapist here at learning tree. When my daughter started with them she was non-verbal BUT through the patient, kind and caring teachers at this facilty my daughter could do a sentence now and verbalize the things she wants. Shoutout to Ms. Taylor, Ms Hanna who always look after how my daughter is doing and make sure that every session, my daughter has learned something new. My daughter attended Learning tree for a couple sessions, she was placed her through the HRC. I expected more from this place but from the beginning they were unwelcoming. My daughter wasn't given an evaluation at that center or nor were any goals addressed when she first stared. I brought this up to the therapist the first day and felt rushed and not listened to. Most of their sessions are lead by students not therapist. I felt like the staff wasn't very professional or transparent when helping my daughter with speech. read more

I have been taking my son here for about three years the staff is great with him. He knows every one. The schedule is bit jammed packed for speech, and has been improving. But for occupational therapy is bit more open. The teachers ( Tram, Claudia, Melissa, Brittany, Reyes, Cassie) always give great pointers on helping outside of their facility. We've had such a frustrating experience here. My daughter was in PT and OT and we had many sessions cancelled day-of within minutes of the session. Once we were even in the waiting room for half an hour waiting before they told us the therapist was a no-show. It's very unprofessional. You cannot count on them to be reliable. They also overcharged our insurance and we got reimbursements in the mail with no explanation. I could go on with other examples of ways this company is not run well. We generally liked the therapists (except one who only had negative feedback for how my daughter did in session). I would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

My daughter was born premature and needed some help with her speech delayed issue. She started with nothing but "mmm" and pointing at objects. After a few session (3 months) with Ms. Tram and Ms. Claudia, we saw a significant difference. They also teach the kids sign language. We been going to learing tree for like 3 year now I have 4 kids going there 3 for ot & all 4 of them for speech they are very flexible with scheduling & make up. The therapy are so good my kids love them they make them feel like they are at home ("we are home" that's what my kids say every time they open the door). My son has been attending for a couple months now and loves it! They stick to a routine so the littles ones feel comfortable and know what to expect. The teachers are mostly graduate students who are immersed in current theory and are passionate about helping the kiddos. We have been going to Learning Tree for over a year. I have twins who had/have speech delay. Our daughter finished in about 6 months, and our son is still attending. He has been working with Claudia for a year and we have seen great improvement! He loves when we go to "school" and he gets to see Ms. Cla-d-ya. Along with learning how to talk, our twins have learned to follow directions, stay still in their assigned seats, and how to play with others. The staff are extremely nice and very resourceful. I can't speak for speech therapy because we only tried this place for OT. There's 2 therapists that are available and I was very disappointed with both. They both seem very inexperienced. The clinic is very limited with therapy equipment and sensory items. The 1st day there, the therapist was not very inviting. 2nd visit, both therapists attended and the owner walked into the session and they began having their own conversation that had nothing to do with my son. The owner didn't even say hi. This is time and money wasted. They asked me to bring in certain items I had to use in therapy and never even used them. Poor follow through. The last visit, the therapist said they can't work on weight bearing until my sons attention increases. Really? You clearly have no experience with special needs kids. My son has worked with many therapists and they have all truly cared about his progress and it never felt fake like it does here. That's key when investing time and money for your child's progress and being able to trust someone with your child's future. read more
