Posted a review on their Facebook about how the owners were gossiping about their employees while I was shopping there. Naturally they called me a liar and insane. Then they blocked me, so my review was deleted. Looking back on yelp here, it seems other people have had issues with the owners so I am not at all surprised. They said my motivations were "suspicious" for posting the review. I was embarrassed that while I was trying to shop, they were name dropping employees and talking about them. I am disappointed that there is not a selection of pencils with cute designs for children starting kindergarten. There are many markers and pens but teachers prefer a pencil for printing skills. Although the store is called Learning Express, I was disappointed that primary printing skills to be developed are not supported with cute pencils and erasers. read more

Complete rip off, everything is 30% higher than any other store so even with a "20% off" sale it's still more than Target or WalMart for the same exact stuff. We came into Learning Express over the weekend to look for some birthday gifts for two 7-year-old girls in my daughter's first grade class. I have never taken her to to this store and she LOVED it! There's something for everyone in Learning Express! She found things that her friends will love. The employees were so friendly! We got our presents gift wrapped and that's a great service! If I could give this place zero stars I would. I made this Yelp account today just to leave a review here because I am furious with this woman and her business. I left a Google review on Learning Express about a month ago, and suddenly it's gone. It seems to me that whoever is in charge of this store CLEARLY does not care about customers or their needs. I was advised not to shop at Learning Express by a friend, considering she read extremely controversial and nasty posts that are now (surprisingly) deleted off the owner Caroline's Twitter! I have heard awful things about this woman and her business but decided to brush it off as unhappy customers. Despite all this, I popped into the Bluebell store as I needed to get a last-minute gift for my granddaughter, and boy do I regret it! Customer service is awful. I walked in without being greeted, and it seemed to me that I was interrupting a conversation between the two female employees who looked displeased to see me. The prices are insanely high and almost unaffordable, and the management just disappoints me overall. The two young ladies were rude, talked to me as if I were a child, and were no help whatsoever. Ended up not purchasing anything. I will be telling people not to shop here. I am extremely disappointed. And as for the young ladies whose conversation I interrupted, work shouldn't be your social hour. Manage things better. read more

I am embarrassed ! I went to this store for my 24 year old daughter. Who is all of a sudden obsessed with squishmellows. As per request i went. This store is very clean, all the toys, games, and squishmellows are well displayed. The employees are very nice and are willing to answer any questions. This is the only place I go when we need a birthday gift. They have a great selection of puzzles, sports, Legos, and stem games that my kids enjoy. I love that they handle gift wrapping. I will never walk into this store again. It is a shame bc there are some cool things in here for kids to look at and wish for even though a little overpriced. It seems the same lady that other reviewers are complaining about also turned me off. When going to check out, I asked what the rate was for an item to the clerk(not her) and she interrupted me yelling that the price was there. It was not. She proceeded to talk loudly while looking for a price on the display and could not find one. She told me I was right but didn't apologize. Next thing I know, she is behind me in the McCaffreys next door telling me how I was now wrong and she found a printed price up high on the display and I 'must have missed it'. Stopped in this store to return a game we received. Went to the clerk and was told he couldn't do returns, and that we would have to wait for the owner who was at the supermarket. Since we live over an hour away and was passing by there, we waited. About 10 minutes later, she comes in and looks at the receipt and blurts out "Im not giving you a cash refund for this, it was purchased all the way back in December!" Now the game was unopened and the receipt said returns within 60 days which it was. We didn't even care about that and were going to pick out another item anyway. After looking around we just settled on a book to exchange so we could get out of there. Almost everything we looked at was almost double what it cost on Amazon and with such rude customer service, I have no idea why anyone would shop here! read more

And while prices appear high, the majority of items are same or less than Amazon. They carry quality items that typically have a high price point. On the morning of 8/31/21, I was in the store with my 5 year old granddaughter and purchased for her, a face mask. I paid the price of $10 in cash. This was the last face mask available in her size. I asked the sales person to show me quickly how to open the package and thought it was strange (and she was surprised) when it popped open without any effort. In retrospect, I think the package was likely previously opened. Upon getting my granddaughter settled in her car seat in the store's parking lot, I helped her on with the face mask. Immediately, she commented that the mask smelled "funny." Upon removing her new face mask, I took a whiff and it smelled like a previous wearer might have eaten something before putting the mask on. We immediately went back into the store and after confirming that the purchased face mask was the last available, I asked for a cash refund. The response from the sales clerk was that the store does not accept return/give refunds on face mask purchases. When the sales clerk saw that I was unhappy, she asked the store manager to intervene. The manager did not express a disagreement with our "strange smell" claim, and asked for my credit card (I assume her first thought was to give me a full credit against the charge). When the manager realized that I paid in cash, against my protest, she would only give me a store credit. Based on my belief that the store re-sold to me a previously opened and used face mask for a child's use, I don't intend to ever give this store my business. Based on the actions of the store employees, the culture indicates that the store's policy is dishonest with little regard for a child's safety. read more

I received a gift from the learning express for my baby shower. I was told by the person who purchased the item that I could walk into any learning express to have the baby's name put on it. When I called the store to confirm, they said they would unwilling to do it at this location because I don't have a gift receipt. The store just lost a potential customer. read more

I am all for supporting small and local businesses. That's why I went in today to buy gifts for my nieces and nephews but unfortunately experienced terrible customer service. I had my 3 kids with me and since we were the only customers inside, I let them wander through the store on their own. My kids called out for me when they were looking for me. When my 3 year old did that, the older lady working at the store said "Your mother left you, did she? She's back here." Then, when my other son was looking for me, the same lady yelled at my son saying, "She's right here. She's right here!" and when she made eye contact with me, her voice changed instantly and she was being very fake. I am all for someone reminding my kids to have better manners but do not yell at my kids. This is a TOY store for KIDS! They lost my business today and for the future. I was there buying gifts for my 5 nephews and nieces. Instead, I headed over to Barnes and Noble and spent my $250 there. What a shame. I love supporting small businesses. read more
