They accepted both of my insurances; I've had trouble finding a dental office that accepts both my Fed. BCBS and Humana. I couldn't ask for better care!! read more

We lived in Leander years ago and my 2 oldest children visited Dr Hogge for routine visits and braces. We moved to Austin so switched dentists to find a closer one. Dr Hogge is worth any drive! We have since returned to Leander Smiles. Katie, at the desk is the most friendly, welcoming person you will meet. She makes you feel like an old friend with every visit and even phone call. The ENTIRE staff makes a trip to the dentist fun. Our little 8 year old loves going for checkups and can't wait for us to call them if she fell and has a potential chip. We have been coming to Dr.Hogge for many years and I love it. Everyone there is always so friendly and happy to see us. I realize we only see Dr.Hogge and his staff every 6 months but we look forward to it every time. I also love the fact that it is family owned and it is not commercialized like other places. 2 years after I got a root canal by this dentist, I went to another dentist in an incredible amount of pain. It turns out Dr. Hogges missed a canal in the exact same tooth. Now I'm just disappointed. read more

I went in for a trouble tooth and have never been so impressed by a dental office. Everyone was extremely warm and caring in the staff. I was in alot of pain and they worked me into their schedule very quickly. I had previously been told a week prior that I would need an oral surgeon to remove this too , however Dr. Hogg was able to remove it no problems and no drama. I couldn't believe I was leaving a dentist office not feeling as though I had just been taken for a ride like so many other places that overcharge. My girls saw Dr. Hogge a few years ago when we lived in Leander. Everything went great. The girls had a few fillings in the office at the ages of 7 and 8 with no issues. When we moved to Cedar Park we tried another dentist a bit closer, and in just one year he told me they needed 7 fillings between the two of them and would have to go somewhere else and be put under anesthesia. That seemed outrageous to me over the course of one year. Things just didnt feel right, so i returned to Dr. Hogge and he informed us they only needed 3 fillings between the two and he did them in the office with local anesthetic. I find it very disturbing that some professionals put money over the safety of children, but we trust Dr. Hogge and will never try anyone else again. I want to start this out by saying my 5 year old is the one who actually sees this dentist, and I am still giving them 5 stars even though I rarely think anything is good enough for my son. The staff is very friendly, especially the male dental assistant, I WISH I knew his name so I could give him a major shout out! My 5 year old hyper active child is all giggles through out his entire visit, cleaning and flossing and even x-Rays! That is no easy task. The dentist is very friendly as well and puts my son at ease. He explains things to him, like his adult teeth, in a way my son understands. He always leaves looking forward to taking care of his teeth, and that is something any mommy would appreciate! read more

Dr. Hogge is awesome! We've been seeing him since we moved to the area two years ago after he came highly recommended by several friends. The office is very clean, and the staff is incredibly helpful. I have 3 daughters, one who is deathly afraid of pretty much everything- Dr. Hogge is patient with her and does a great job at getting her to smile and calm her nerves. With so many dentists around (many of them dishonest) we feel so lucky to have found an honest dentist that genuinely cares about his patients! 5 stars! read more

I WILL NEVER GO TO THIS DENTIST EVER AGAIN IN MY LIFE HE IS AWFUL.... I went in for some pain in my upper right and lower left. he was happy to see me and fixed my problem.... he was great with the shot and so forth however I managed to break my new filling and I went back to him to get it fixed.. you could tell he was so mad about having to fix it..... I told him in the beginning that i needed a strong filling because i had a strong bite so therefore he did not listen.... My gums on my upper right still bleed by there selfs and are still shredded he has messed up my teeth not only do i still hurt now i have to have Root Canals because he went to deep while drilling. I went to this Dr. had total trust in him to give me honest and professional advice. He told me to put an upper temporary as this was best. He pulled the upper teeth, ordered the partial and then the teeth he left in all broke so it left me with a partial that would not hold in. I told him what had happened and he seemed like everything was alright and never offered to refund anything or no course of follow up. He had made the wrong decision which took all my insurance and personal money that was almost $5000 and I can't eat most things and have to glue what I have left back in everyday. I have a suit filed with Texas Dental and they accepted it. So at 72 years old I have no upper teeth and cannot enjoy a meal. I'm a terrible patient when it's time to go to the dentist. It seems they're always expensive, they hurt you and I have a terrible gag reflex. Most dentists don't like to see me coming any more than I want to be there. About 5 years ago after seeing a dentist that completely botched a root canal on me as well as my fiance at the time. They actually lost part of a tool down in his tooth that's still there today. I won't mention the dentist, I will simply say stay away from Crystal Falls. I refused to see him anymore and really had no idea where to go. After talking with a few people I was told about Leander Smiles and Dr.Hogge. I needed a tooth pulled that was causing me a great deal of pain. They scheduled need for an appt immediately which was impressive! They put patients who are in pain top priority. I went into the office very hesitant, however right away the staff was so friendly and engaging I didn't feel like they just wanted money, I felt they truly wanted to help me. I then met Dr. Hogge, and I was surprised at how kind he was and very thorough. He went through all of my options and the cost. They know that I have a terrible gag reflex and always make sure there is nitrous on hand for any procedure. I have been a patient every since. During each procedure Dr. Hogge hums along with the music and let's you know what he's doing each step. I have been there for root canals, cleanings, x-rays, teeth pulled and most recently I fell face first hitting a metal counter and knocked out 2 front teeth (horrifying) I didn't want to leave the house I was so embarrassed. Once again Dr. Hogge had to do 2 root canals and put in a permanent bridge. My teeth actually looked better after the procedure than they did before the accident. I will NEVER go to any other Dentist as long as I still live here and he's still in practice. I have sent numerous people to him and they all feel the same way. Also Heather who deals with the financial part is so personable, knowledgeable and friendly. I highly recommend Dr. Hogge and his staff they are without a doubt the best experience I've ever had in dealing with a dentist and coming from me who HATED going to the dentist says A LOT! read more

I have had extensive work done here... Staff wonderful... All 4 of my children have been coming here for 3-4 years... From the age range from 7 to 13.. Every visit has been a wonderful experience.. I have needed a couple root canals and crowns, and my wife has had a more complicated issue that has impacted her since childhood. Another dentist had recommended aggressive (and expensive) treatment for all of our issues, but Dr. Hogge approached our needs in a very personal way. He considered our current and long-term health, budget constraints, and overall comfort in a way that is unique in my experience with dentists. In addition, he referred us to great specialists when that was needed. On top of all this, he's funny, personable, and has a great staff. My teeth were supposed to be in pretty good condition when I moved so thought I would get a dentist close for future needs. Office was neat and he showed me that I needed some crowns, I said I couldn't afford all that and gave me the alternative to have upper temporary made. So after all the money I could put up and using all my insurance got that work done. Then support teeth broke off. Tried to get them to at least glue back on said it couldn't be done. No refund nothing. I filed with Tx Dental Assoc. They took they took case. I ate with upper glued in for almost two years waiting to get some money. So last month they fined Dr. Hogge and asked him to take courses. Know what I got? Not one penny from anyone. Now I have to somehow find the money to just get an upper denture. Who would have believed that I wouldn't have had some type of refund from a dentist that knew the situation I was in. May be ok for simple things but don't trust on anything that costs any money at all. read more

I have been seeing Dr. Hogge for several years now and have been very happy with the service and quality of care. I have major dental anxiety and need a dentist that is sympathetic to how hard it is to even get me in the door of a dental office and one that can provide Nitrous to calm my nerves. He does both. He cares about his patients and is honest and fair with treatment recommendations and procedures. I have always been suspect of dentists because you don't know if they are recommending unnecessary work and you don't know any different. While in the chair Dr. Hogge spends time showing the X-rays and explaining different options, but is never pushy about what to do. I would recommend him to others. read more

I just had to take the time to write a review for Leander Smiles. The dentist, Dr. Robert Hogge, and staff are so sweet and so caring. They go above and beyond to satisfy their clients. You can tell that dentistry is their passion and that they are not there to rob you. I have a huge history of dental issues and I have never been to a dentist who understood my budget like he does. He understands how expensive dental work can be and he helps you figure out a plan that will work with your financial situation. For being such a busy dental office I found it suprisingly quick to get in a room and he took his time explaining things to me. I didn't feel like he was rushing me to move on to the next client. I called with a dental emergency and he saw me within the hour. I took my daughter to him for her check up and he as well as the staff were such kid friendly people. My husband goes to him as well and I will be bringing my youngest to him soon for her check up. This is a great dentist for the entire family. read more
