We ordered two soul food plates -- 1 meat and 2 sides for $19 each. I went with the garlic and herb wings, and my wife got the hot honey wings. Both came with about six wings each, and they were so flavorful and meaty! For sides, we both chose collard greens and mac & cheese. The collard greens were seasoned perfectly, and the mac and cheese was rich and delicious -- definitely comfort food done right. Each meal also came with cornbread, which for me was the only miss of the night; it didn't have much flavor and didn't seem super fresh, but to be fair, we went around 6 PM, so it might've just been late in the day. We tried two desserts -- the pound cake and the peach cobbler. The pound cake was a bit dry, but that peach cobbler? Amazing. Sweet, warm, and full of flavor. We also got a side plate of fried catfish, and wowww... that was a showstopper! Crispy, fresh, and perfectly seasoned -- I'd honestly make the 30-minute drive again just for that catfish alone. All in all, this spot deserves way more attention. You can tell the food is made with love, and with a few small tweaks, it could easily be one of the best soul food restaurants around.
