Feeding a family of 5 a quick meal on the road during a pandemic....Leah's hit the spot. We ordered about 14 tacos and a quesadilla for under $30. (Potato, bean, & cheese & bean & cheese) They were full and delicious. The salsa was very yummy. The red sauce was a nice kick with lots of flavor. The green was very flavorful and just enough kick for my teen to enjoy. read more

So glad to have them back in Converse after there brick and mortar closed. Fast friendly as always. Breakfast tacos can't beat, plus you're supporting small and local. Would be awesome if they had picnic tables and such but i understand that would require more work and such. The location of Topperwein and 3rd st is perfect! Honestly would be a great spot for other food trucks read more

Good food nice people the only problem is the parking sucks but overall its good the barbocoa is my favorite

Great food around the corner from home. The one draw back are the hours of operation. I can never remember what days they close at 3 and have shown up to dinner to a closed place. The food - delicious. Menudo tasted like my grandmothers - lots of flavor and tender chunks of meat. So good! The barbacoa is perfect. Greasy enough without being too greasy - warm homemade tortillas some onion and cilantro it's a perfect breakfast. Definitely worth paying attention to business hours and trying out their dinner. read more

We ordered the huevos rancheros and the pancake platter for breakfast and they are well served and delicious!!! The eggs came w/ a side of potato chunks, beans, and two freshly made corn tortillas. Those tortillas impressed me! They were the real stuff if u ask me:) And then I saw the pancakes my husband ordered and wow they were big and fluffyy(I wanna say better than IHops). Also the coffee was served in jarritos(mexican clay cups) which makes the coffee even taste better. Great customer service and clean place. It looks like they have a small party space for rent for like a small gathering or b-day. I recommend the food here, amazing for my 1st time there. read more

2 stars in the hopes that if I try it again there will be an improvement. My friend and I had gone in for lunch on Wednesday at about noon. He had been waiting at least 10 minutes without even an acknowledgement. The Cashier looked in his direction but nothing just a blank stare. We stood in the doorway as we watched a table get up and leave. Tables that weren't waiting for food were dirty and there seemed to be only 1 person on the floor. This seems like a management/ staffing ussue. My friend lives in the neighborhood and seemed embarrassed by the place he had talked up just moments earlier. We left disappointed and opted for the Jalisco across the street. Ironically we followed the people who walked out before us. Not a good experience. read more

Great menudo! Enchilada plate was good. Thank you for a great birthday meal for my Daughter.

Excellent food and very reasonably priced. Salsa is very fresh and tasty. Chips are crisp. Plates are large and made to order. We love this place and it's now our new neighborhood place to eat! Specials have never let us down, and can't go many place and feed a family for under $20! Staff very friendly. Update! Another great meal! Absol this place! Another update! We love Leah's food so much, we asked Jorge to cater a party for us. Everyone raves about how great the food was. Generous portions, with a great selection and price. Absolutely phenomenal job! Highly recommend! You will not be disappointed! read more

We love this place! Food is great I just wish we would have tried it sooner. Now we are hooked! Awesome service

Great food at decent prices. Only down side is their online menu isn't very clear about the details of their meals. An when I called them to clarify. I got some person that only talked in Spanish, very fast. I recommend the Enchiladas. read more

Great breakfast taco specials and quality food. I ordered bacon and egg tacos on corn tortilla (yes, they make them in-house) and it was delicious. The customer service is great and the best part of it all--hablan español! The prices are beyond fair in comparison to other Mexican restaurants located within the area. Hard to pass it up! If you're an early bird then do yourself a favor and grab some breakfast from here. You won't regret it. read more

Perfect neighborhood spot. Menudo is great. Barbacoa is great. Prices are reasonable. It's our weekend go to in the Converse/UC area.

I have been there many times in the morning for breakfast tacos and they've always been delicious. I met a friend of mine there for lunch today, and was equally impressed with their lunch offerings. My friend spent many years in Mexico as a missionary and said it was the best food that he had had outside of Mexico. We both agreed the enchiladas con mole were amazing. I have always found the service to be good, and the wait staff to be quite Pleasant. I will continue going back and will probably be bringing the rest of the family soon. read more

What they have going for them is location. They are currently the only taco joint in the neighborhood. It's nice to only have to drive around the corner vs 3-4 miles. Also, their breakfast taco special is very cheap, perfect for carryout on those lazy mornings. The food is mediocre. No consistency with the breakfast tacos. On one visit they may be skinny wimpy tacos, other days full bodied. One day they use real cheese, others, tastes like processed cheese. As for tortillas, eh.. The downfall of this place is the actual restaurant. It's dark and gloomy. I'm not saying it's dirty, but when i pick up for carry out, I always feel like the place is dirty and like I'm in a cave. Parking is absolutely horrible. It is shared with all the other businesses in the building and is way to small to accommodate. Will I continue to eat there? As I said, its convenient and cheap when I'm in a hurry. However, I prefer taking the drive for a better taco. read more

They have either changed cooks the last two times we visited, or they have really gone down hill along with many other locations.. it's sad. I don't like dining anywhere anymore. No flavor in the fajitas, I had to dr them myself, Chile Verde I also had to dr up.. I tried calling and they don't answer. I was a usual customer.. as well as a great tipper. Don't waste my time or money. read more

They have great food but VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!! We always go to Brenda's Mexican restaurant which is the Brothers Restaurant and the experience there is just so awesome and the food is just so great so that's why I figured this would be the same but it's definitely not. We've gone & dined in there about 4 times since we live so close to them but as said before the service is not great and it's worse over the phone, our call in orders are always missing something but we overlook it because it's not always worth the hassle of going back. Today, I called to place Taco orders from the specials and all of a sudden they said they all have to be the same when before I've never had to order three of the same. When I tried to explain to the lady that I've never had that issue before and that it doesn't say that on the menu her only response was "well I've always been here and it's always been that way so I don't know what to tell you." It's okay I will continue to give my business to Brenda's and I will no longer be coming here even though it's literally down the street from my home. I know that you all are probably questioning if the service was so terrible why did I keep going back....well it was because like I said I literally live down the street from it and the good food outbeats the poor service if you just pick it up but enough is enough. ** Let me just add that I would have been okay just paying separate for each individual taco but it was the way that she spoke to me. It wasn't what she said it's how she said it and her attitude. She could have gone a whole different way about it and everything would have been fine but it's always that way... every single time. read more

Leah's Mexican Restaurant took over where China Garden used to be. I ordered a shredded chicken taco salad, Leah's Nachos (for our appetizer) and my husband was really craving some caldo de rez. We got our order to go, I had to order from the restaurant in person so that I can see the menu because there's no website with the menu posted. They told me it would be ready in 10 minutes so I ran across the street for a quick errand and came back to my food being ready. The seating is a little bit strange, and the entrance is on the opposite side. Outside they have Leah's restaurant closed off on one side, and there's an arrow to go in the opposite side. I think the kitchen is in the middle? Like between the two sides? Oh well. Other than that slightly strange seating area, the food was delicious. The menu is quite extensive. The options are a little overwhelming because there are so many options, it takes a while to look through the entire menu, but I actually enjoy all of the choices. Will definitely be back to try their many menu options! So far, so good! Portions were nice and big, and although Leah's nachos were delicious, it was actually more food than we realized it would be. But there ain't nothing wrong with that! Some for later! read more

Delicious!! The best tortillas in town and pure comfort food .. We always stop by and grab a plate on own way home ..

The food was good enough to come back , service was a little slow , had to ask for silverware and it took 10 minutes from sitting down to get menus and greeted . Sweet tea was left hot too long so it tasted "off". Portions were great , prices were good , I'll come back after they have been established a bit longer to work out the kinks in the service . Update : they still seem a little hectic , went for breakfast tacos twice this week to give them a try and they are definitely good tacos . However its apparent that they are unorganized and need to stream line some stuff . They just dont seem to care that much here, they are rude, the lady at the counter constantly puts her head down on the counter like its such a horrible thing to wait for the credit card receipt to print out. Orders are wrong pretty much everytime we try to take out. read more
