Great food around the corner from home. The one draw back are the hours of operation. I can never remember what days they close at 3 and have shown up to dinner to a closed place. The food - delicious. Menudo tasted like my grandmothers - lots of flavor and tender chunks of meat. So good! The barbacoa is perfect. We ordered the huevos rancheros and the pancake platter for breakfast and they are well served and delicious!!! The eggs came w/ a side of potato chunks, beans, and two freshly made corn tortillas. Those tortillas impressed me! They were the real stuff if u ask me:) And then I saw the pancakes my husband ordered and wow they were big and fluffyy(I wanna say better than IHops). Also the coffee was served in jarritos(mexican clay cups) which makes the coffee even taste better. Great customer service and clean place. He had been waiting at least 10 minutes without even an acknowledgement. The Cashier looked in his direction but nothing just a blank stare. We stood in the doorway as we watched a table get up and leave. Tables that weren't waiting for food were dirty and there seemed to be only 1 person on the floor. This seems like a management/ staffing ussue. My friend lives in the neighborhood and seemed embarrassed by the place he had talked up just moments earlier. I have been there many times in the morning for breakfast tacos and they've always been delicious. I met a friend of mine there for lunch today, and was equally impressed with their lunch offerings. My friend spent many years in Mexico as a missionary and said it was the best food that he had had outside of Mexico. We both agreed the enchiladas con mole were amazing. I have always found the service to be good, and the wait staff to be quite Pleasant. I will continue going back and will probably be bringing the rest of the family soon. read more

What they have going for them is location. They are currently the only taco joint in the neighborhood. It's nice to only have to drive around the corner vs 3-4 miles. Also, their breakfast taco special is very cheap, perfect for carryout on those lazy mornings. The food is mediocre. No consistency with the breakfast tacos. On one visit they may be skinny wimpy tacos, other days full bodied. One day they use real cheese, others, tastes like processed cheese. As for tortillas, eh.. The downfall of this place is the actual restaurant. It's dark and gloomy. I'm not saying it's dirty, but when i pick up for carry out, I always feel like the place is dirty and like I'm in a cave. Parking is absolutely horrible. It is shared with all the other businesses in the building and is way to small to accommodate. Will I continue to eat there? As I said, its convenient and cheap when I'm in a hurry. However, I prefer taking the drive for a better taco. read more

We always go to Brenda's Mexican restaurant which is the Brothers Restaurant and the experience there is just so awesome and the food is just so great so that's why I figured this would be the same but it's definitely not. When I tried to explain to the lady that I've never had that issue before and that it doesn't say that on the menu her only response was "well I've always been here and it's always been that way so I don't know what to tell you." Leah's Mexican Restaurant took over where China Garden used to be. I ordered a shredded chicken taco salad, Leah's Nachos (for our appetizer) and my husband was really craving some caldo de rez. We got our order to go, I had to order from the restaurant in person so that I can see the menu because there's no website with the menu posted. They told me it would be ready in 10 minutes so I ran across the street for a quick errand and came back to my food being ready. The seating is a little bit strange, and the entrance is on the opposite side. Outside they have Leah's restaurant closed off on one side, and there's an arrow to go in the opposite side. I think the kitchen is in the middle? Like between the two sides? Oh well. Other than that slightly strange seating area, the food was delicious. The menu is quite extensive. The options are a little overwhelming because there are so many options, it takes a while to look through the entire menu, but I actually enjoy all of the choices. Will definitely be back to try their many menu options! So far, so good! Portions were nice and big, and although Leah's nachos were delicious, it was actually more food than we realized it would be. The food was good enough to come back , service was a little slow , had to ask for silverware and it took 10 minutes from sitting down to get menus and greeted . Sweet tea was left hot too long so it tasted "off". Portions were great , prices were good , I'll come back after they have been established a bit longer to work out the kinks in the service . Update : they still seem a little hectic , went for breakfast tacos twice this week to give them a try and they are definitely good tacos . However its apparent that they are unorganized and need to stream line some stuff . They just dont seem to care that much here, they are rude, the lady at the counter constantly puts her head down on the counter like its such a horrible thing to wait for the credit card receipt to print out.
