I like the product but it's not performing as the sales rep stated it would. I had water seep into my basement due to not having long enough downspout extensions. I asked the crew if it was long enough, they said yes. Clearly not. There's a tech here right now to adjust for the second time. It should have been done right in the first place. I also should not have had to purchase on my own extensions for them, the techs should have seen I had long ones on my old gutters and installed additional extensions. Communication is abysmal, I called the local office multiple times and nobody picks up. Called the national office, they pick up and talk to me, but for any of the actual work, communication needs to get back to local office. I've requested multiple times for a phone call from a manager, but it doesn't come. Today I requested an email but I'm not confident it will actually happen. I requested multiple times for a callback from a manager to discuss warranty options, it's been a week and I just called back today. They said someone will be reaching out, we'll see if it actually happens. Initially, a rep said that I couldn't claim warranty because of natural causes, tree debris on the filter causing overflow -- isn't your product supposed to prevent overflow in the first place, having the rain get the debris to go over? A major part of their marketing materials was "never get on a ladder again". At this rate, I will have to clean them myself and that defeats the entire purpose of gutter guards. Edit: called back from manager, basically said there was nothing they could do. They are sending out 6 additional downspout extensions so I can return the ones I purchased, but not able to honor warranty. If your installers installed incorrectly CAUSING WATER IN THE BASEMENT, some compensation should be offered. Working in customer service, I would have at least offered a partial credit. We paid $6K for gutter guards from them, with almost 0 need for gutter repair included, and afterwards they treat you like crap. They even hung up on my wife without transferring her to the correct department to finalize our appointment for the estimate...for almost a month out, when we could have go one the same day if we were a new customer. I had new gutters and the leaf filter guard installed in May 2024. In July of 3025 a tree fell on the roof and damaged the gutters. After 2 months someone came to look at them. TV advertisments state, "You will never have to use a ladder again!" So, after have LeafFilter installed on our home back in March of 2021, we didn't get up on the ladder. Due to the high number of Maple tree whirlybirds this year, we went on the ladder to clear them from the top screens of the LeafFilter. Upon inspection, we find that they never finished installing the LeafFilter screens on the garage roof. Found that there were no screws holding them in place. Who knows if the same is true on the other gutters on the second floor gutters. Called customer service and was told there would be a $95 service charge to come out. Keep in mind this is work needed because they didn't install them properly to begin with. This wouldn't be warranty work but COMPLETING THE JOB THEY DID'T PROPERLY FINISH. When you say your product makes it so you will never have to get on the ladder to clean your gutters, I am beginning to think it's because you don't want the customer to see that you didn't finish installing them. Why would you charge a customer to come and FINISH the job you were paid to do in the first place? Warranty apparently doesn't include customer service. Leaf filter appraiser left before I could get to the door! He knocked (about 10 knocks in rapid succession). I went to answer, it took me just 20 seconds (across living room and down a flight of stairs to entryway and door) and as I opened the door, all I caught a glimpse of was the rear end of his vehicle departing! Yes, I actually timed how long it took me several times after he left! 20 seconds! Not bad, considering I have arthritis in my knees and legs. I called Leaf Filter and they did nothing except offer to come another time. My time is valuable--when I set aside time to get an estimate, I expect the company to honor that and send someone who really wants to service a customer. When I had a problem with some areas plugging up with leaves and sticks I called them and they wouldn't come out unless I paid them $95 even though I supposedly had a warranty for life the whole idea of putting gutters on so I wouldn't have to climb up on ladders and now they expect me to climb up on a ladder. Current state of gutters is far from ideal and underlines lack of execution and communication within the leaf filter department with high sales pressure to book the job rather than focusing on the person and the service. Downspout installed provided was not long enough and stops at a poor location leading to large water pooling around the area. Job was pushed to completion regardless of how it was executed. I highly recommend double checking the design provided by the seller as the installers will have to strictly follow it. If the seller assures you that everything discussed will be done ensure to get it in writing. Most likely you won't hear form the same person again after the sale. read more

After spending the money for the lifetime guarantee, because I no longer wanted to go on the roof of my two story home, I experienced clogging. To be fair, for the first couple of years, a technician was dispatched to my home and they did clear the blockage. Now I am told it is a $95 charge, and the most recent technician said I would need this twice a year. When I asked why this was no longer covered, I was told that warranty is only good for one year. When I asked what other options I had, I was told I could clear them myself. I reached out to the Leaffilter main offices, and they told me this is something the local office would need to address, and said they would contact them for me. Nothing since. I CANNOT GIVE ZERO STARS OR I WOULD High pressure, deceptively fraudulent sales tactics were used just to get us to sign the $5611 (MIN32219, installed 12-9-22) contract on the spot. We told him that we were getting our soffits and fascia redone in the spring and we were assured that the guards would not interfere. WRONG. As seniors aging in place, we were told we would never have to clean our gutters again. We were NOT told that the guards have to be cleaned at least 2X per year! (Their so-called technicians told us this.) We were convinced that winter installation was not an issue (NOT!) and that the "technician" would clean the gutters out before applying the guards. He didn't take the time to do that, apparently, because there was plenty of built-up crud in these gutters once we had to have the guards removed and then new gutters installed by our trusted contractor. LeafFilter's installer snipped off all of our existing gutter straps in order to put the guards on. We found evidence of this once the snow melted--lots of strap pieces and screws were found in our yard come spring. These cut areas now are causing our shingles to bulge over each former cut strap. These guards iced up immediately when the weather turned cold, then any further ice/snow backed up under the shingles, causing ice dam ceiling damage in our home. (In 38 years, this has never happened.) We had a cone-shaped ice mound 10" high right by our valley near the front door, making for a dangerous, icy sidewalk. In the spring, the guards immediately became matted with tree debris like cottonwood seeds, ash seeds and roof granules which don't wash off with rain. The result? Water never enters the gutters and instead spills over everywhere. Barely any water came out of the downspouts. This overflow caused one corner of our laundry room to have water come through the masonry. If these guards actually worked, we would be okay with the expenditure. THEY DON'T! They are absolute GARBAGE. They also look terrible from the ground, and twist, bend and bulge. Each section is only about 4 feet long, so there is no way to hide the fact that they warp extensively. Furthermore, I was told after airing my complaints that "because we did not have their 'technicians' remove the guards (our contractor did), our warranty is completely void. Their "technicians" show up in beat-up unmarked cars with a screwdriver and drill in their back seat. Totally unprofessional! We had all of these guards removed from our home, paid to have new gutters installed, and are totally disillusioned with the unethical behavior of this sales rep and company. We've had ours for about a year, and I'm not that impressed. With the system or the company. They are EXTREMELY expensive. We got a "special deal" but we had 24 hours to sign and it still cost $7500+. The salesman completely lied to us saying a crew of 3-5 guys would be out and it would only take 3, 4 hours tops to install. So we scheduled an afternoon install so I could sign the papers after work. They sent one guy to work by himself and it took him 9 hours, finishing just before it got really dark. He was missing time with his family because of the way they schedule their work and staff their sites. This spring, I was still on the roof with a broom sweeping debris off the system. So not everything floats off like the sales person will tell you. But sales people lie all the time. After a hail storm caused some damage to our roof, we learned the system as well as our gutters would have to come down for the roof to be fixed. According to the warranty department, the warranty is void if anyone other than Leaf Filter removes or installs the system. Mike at the Eden Prairie Minnesota office does not return calls, even after the warranty center sent multiple emails telling him it was urgent he returned the messages. In two days I placed a total of 9 calls to Eden Prairie and the 800 number and got nowhere. When Mike did finally call me, he acted like I was overreacting because I had called on a Friday saying "You did call on a weekend." And the warranty is a joke. It only covers you if the gutters suddenly start clogging. If any type of weather causes problems, it's not covered. And to have them remove and re-install them for the contractor costs you money. So what good is the warranty? Once they have your money, they're not there for you and they have no support for their product. Time will tell if the product lasts, but solely based on their customer service, avoid this company at all costs. I wish I'd read others' reviews before I spent $2700 for not very much product for my townhome. I am taking the time to write this detailed review in the hopes that I can help other consumers avoid this company. In early March 2025 I began experiencing a clanging noise and clogging. LeafFilter sent a "tech" out for $95. He was to arrive between 12-4 on 2/26. He arrived at 10:30 am. I wasn't home and had to drop everything and race home when I got his call. I told him to stay until I got there (I was 10 minutes away), but as I pulled up he was heading out. I caught him. The tech seemed disheveled and did not appear to do anything, though he did mention that he put some silicone in one area. I said that both the flyer and my signed contract (which I showed him) said 50-year silicone would be applied to all areas. He said, "Yeah, they don't all do that, they should take that out of the flyers." After he left, the clanging and clogging continued. I wrote a detailed message to customer care about the continuing problems and the silicone comment. I said I wanted my $95 back. They said they'd send out another tech on 3/26 between 8-12. On 3/25, a DAY EARLY, I got a call while at a doctors office from the SAME TECH that he was in my driveway. I explained I couldn't get home and he couldn't access the deck area problem because that can only be accessed from inside the house (which he knew from the prior visit). He said he'd look around as he could. I asked him to leave a note. He said he'd send a text. I asked about his statement that the promised silicone wasn't always done. He denied it! He absolutely said this. I wish I'd recorded it. And he left no note, no text. Crickets. LeafFilter never reached out about the visit, so I wrote yet another email on 3/31. I got a form response that my message would be forwarded and I'd hear back "soon." After two weeks I wrote again that I'd heard from no one. On 4/23 I got a voicemail from someone asking me about the issues. I was in court but four hours later I called back and got voicemail. I left a message saying that the caller needed to review my detailed, multiple communications and then call back. I received no return call, no response of any kind. I don't recommend Leaf Filter Gutter Protection. They do not stand behind their product and while it looked all right the first few years it didn't last 7. years. They hung the new gutters over damaged wood which caused further damage. As a single woman I didn't know that I should be knowledgeable in-home repair. I didn't know I needed to hire a contractor to tell me what work needed to be done and put in a contract. When I spoke to the local representative, he told me, I was a disgruntled homeowner. If he continues to treat women, the way he treated me, I don't expect they will remain in business long. The Company I hired were honest and let me know that they couldn't hang the gutters over the damaged wood. In the long run I hope Leaf Filter get's what they deserve. read more

Do not talk to this company. Very high pressure sales tactics. Quoted me over $10,000 for a "normal" size house (3200 square feet). And this was for regular getters and not for Leaf Filter gutters.; I wish I remembered the sales guy's name. I agree with Tony S . . he told me I would have to sign right away to get his discount . . $10,000 is a discount? When I told him this was unreasonable, he left my house and told me that I wasted his time. Laughable. Called the company and was transferred to a manager who was very belligerent and did say that $10,000+ was silly and offered to requote the job. I highly doubt that will happen. We're very happy with our recently installed Leaf Filter. The sales and installation were very professional.

We had new gutters and a leaf filter system installed by Leaf Filter two weeks ago at a cost of just over $15,000. While the sales person was great, the installation was not we have leaks, the installation team caused damage to our deck, left piles of dirt, all over our deck, and left screws everywhere, including in the driveway, causing a friend to get a flat tire from one of the screws, I have reported all of this to the company. The earliest they can get out for the leaks in the system they just installed is in December. given the temperatures in December I have a little faith they can do an effective sealant. I have followed up with the company regarding the damage to our deck, the screws, and the piles of dirt left everywhere and have heard nothing back on those issues after a week. I have now sent a follow up email. We are horrifically, disappointed with the entire experience and wish we had saved the money and simply hired someone to clean out our gutters three times a year I do not recommend this company. read more

Well after about 3 months after installation I am writing this review, first of all I can not recommend this product at all. To start out the installation was very messy. I bet I can still go outside and find peices of metal and screws laying in the yard. Secondly the price was very high and I own a small home. The sales pitch was very high pressure and could only honor the price for the same day. And now on to the gutters themselves. So I was told time after time in the sales pitch that I would never have to clean my gutters agian. And honestly that my be correct but they never tell you about the top of the gutters this is now the second time I've had to climb up a ladder to clean off the top. They get so clogged on top the rain just completely bypasses the gutters. I hope this is helpful to at least one person so they know what they are getting into. read more

I purchased from LeafFilter in March of 2019. My wife and I had gone to a home show and talked to a representative of LeafFilter. They showed us how great their leafless gutters were. We filled out a card for more information and setup a time to have someone come out to our house and give us a quote. The salesman came out to our house and explained the leafFilter product along with a huge sale they were having because of the home show and the time of the year. He initially gave us a quote for close to $4,000 for our house. I thanked him for his time and said we cannot make that work into our budget at this time. He then lowered the quote and said because of the timing he could do it for a lower price. I again said that it was still more than what we were expecting. That night the salesman texted me saying that he wanted to keep his workers busy this time of year and he was willing to come down to cost on the product around $1700. My wife and I thought we got a great deal on leafless gutters so we decided to go for it. The work was done 2 days later. I then noticed that the downspout color did not match my house color like the salesman had said they would. The downspouts are lighter than my house color and stick out. We would have went with a different color if I knew at the time that they would not match. I was recently on my roof to install lights and realize that my gutters are not leafless gutters. I texted the salesman and contacted LeafFilter of Eden Prairie to see what had happened here. The salesman no longer works here and LeafFilter has said that I should have known I was not getting leafless gutters by the price I was given while also questioning why I even want leafless gutters in the first place. I never received a paper invoice (after asking), never signed anything, and was told when I bought the gutters they were leafless. As a new homeowner, never purchasing gutters before, how am I supposed to know I am not getting leafless gutters when I am buying them from LeafFilter. I had my first appointment last summer, Jeff Lamkins was the rep that came by. Jeff did the demo and I was interested, but at the beginning of my shopping. Next thing I know Jeff is giving me a state fair discount, a buy today discount, and a Vet bonus, even though I am not a Vet. I told him that I wanted to look at other products and Jeff said; "Why, read these consumer reports, they even say we're the best". I told him I was not buying that day and he became angry and more obnoxious with the high pressure sales tactic. I asked him to leave my house. As I escorted him out my door, he said "if I walk out this door those discounts are gone". I tried a few times to talk to management and finally reached Steve. He was pretty easy to work with and said he would honor Jeff's lowest quote. I parked the gutter project for the fall and decided to resume it this spring. I scheduled another appointment with LeafFilter provided the Jeff did not get the sale and that Jeff not step foot on my property. Eric Vevea came by today and was a very nice guy. Unfortunately he was not well prepared. He did not have the notes from Jeff's bid, and after doing the measurements, he did not have the filer with him for my style of gutter and wanted to book another appointment. So I could not get a bid today and my wife could not see the product. This did not go well with my wife. I have seen many other reviews that have 3 common themes: high pressure sales, poor communication, and the have sloppy work and leave huge messes. After all of this and reading several reviews I am leaning towards purchasing from a different vendor. read more

This is a good product. The salesman was courteous, not pushy and laid out all of the process completely. The positive experience ended there. The installers showed up a day late. It took them 6 hours for a job that was promised to take 3 mostly because they took long breaks. They said that all of the current gutter hangers were to be removed, well they just broke most of them off leaving shingles waving. One gutter was left away from the eave about 2". The contract was to have all the end caps sealed with new caulk, right, they didn't do that. I found screws and broken hangers on the roof and in the yard. That even left a tool on my roof. When I called the customer service people and scheduled a technician to fix the install, well they rescheduled the appointment without telling me and then didn't show. Although a return call yielded that they had "closed out the ticket" but customer service said that a manager would call me. Still waiting. Terrible way to do business. I will update this review when and if this ever gets resolved. read more

The installation didn't go as well as I hoped. LeafFilter was able to setup an install date fairly soon after we signed the contract. I was told the installer would arrive between 8 and 10. He arrived about 10:30am. He completed the install within 1.5 hours (which I thought was a little quick). Later in the day I decided to get up on my ladder and clean the "outside" of my gutters, hopefully for the last time. My plan was not to "check up" on the installer's work, but of course I wanted to see the new guards that I paid for while I was cleaning the gutters. I was not impressed with the installation of the gutter guards. Some guards were pushed down while others were raised. I expected a flat surface all along the top of the gutter guards, but I did not see this. I was concerned that the areas that were not flat would gather extra debris over time. Upon further inspection and pushing down on the gutter guards themselves, I found that the guards did NOT have a solid foundation to rest upon in back and gave way to the touch as if they were missing the hangers that the salesperson assured me would be installed. Since the next day was a holiday, I did not call LeafFilter about my findings until two days later. The person I spoke to on the phone said he'd have someone call me back to set up a second appointment to fix the matter. The second installer called me back later in the day and set up an appointment for the next day. The second installer arrived on time and spent an extra 1.5 hours fixing the installation process from the first installer. He said that the hangers had not been installed properly. After the second installer left, I re-inspected his work which looked (and felt ) as I expected it to after the first install. I subsequently called the company (twice, because my first call was not returned) to express my displeasure with the install process and the fact that I had to take a 2nd day off work due to the bad first install. I was very respectful in my interactions with the installers and the persons I spoke to on the phone, however they didn't seem to really care. Thankfully I DID inspect their work right away and I would highly recommend any customer to do the same should they use them. Luckily I was agile enough to scramble up a 2 story ladder. I think they have a good product (though maybe a little expensive for what it is), but unfortunately their initial installation was not what was promised. read more

We signed a contract with you on 9-12-20. The sales person left me a message on 9-14-20 stating he forgot to add the down spouts. Today 9-16-20 when I spoke to him he's now saying it's the financing fee he forgot to add. I told him we signed the contract with the price. He also said no one in the shop wants to do the job since it's under price. A signed contract is a done deal with the agreed price. Please have someone contact me from the corporate office. Needless to say they forwarded this to the local office in Eden Prairie, MN. The project manager called and would not uphold the signed contract, he said we had options 1. Was to hire the third party contractor to install the gutters. 2. Pay in full and take off $200.00 . 3. Is to add the $645.00 to the price on the contract. I would not recommend leaf filter as they don't uphold a signed contract and will come back asking for more money. After speaking with others that have leaf filter and they stated they take a long time to return calls and to come back to correct installation issues and when they do come out the warranty has expired on the installation. They came and gave me an estimate, set up an installation time. I had to coordinate this with being out of town. I drove 150 miles at 11:30 PM the night before the installation at 8 the following morning. No one came. I retrieved a message saying the tech's truck was in the shop, that he'd be late. I phoned the tech and left messages, there was no reply either time. I then phoned the main phone number and was told a manager would get right back to me. It is now 8 hours later and no one has contacted me. I sensed this was a phony operation when I was unable to reach anyone to change the appt. When someone finally called to change the day I was assured they were legit. Still no one has appeared or phoned today and tomorrow is Saturday when I won't expect a response. My next call will be to file a report with the Better Business Bureau. Stay clear of this "business". read more
