Enjoyed doing business with Irving and his hardworking partner, Brando. They are super nice people, and are dependable and very professional. They always arrived by 8am or earlier and hard at work. We replaced our crumbling rock retaining wall with an Allan block wall and it looks super sharp and sophisticated; and functional to boot. Irving put a lot of thought into the design of the wall, factoring in the slope, gravity, settling of the dirt around it, reinforcements, weight, setback, and aesthetics. He was able to design us a very attractive wall with a drainage system and we couldn't be more pleased. He and Brando managed to move dirt and rocks away from the site and build a wall within 4 days and even ended up charging us less than the original asking price! They even set aside some of the large rocks from our rock wall for our next door neighbor to take what he could use and hauled away the rest. Irving is a really nice guy, but unfortunately I cannot recommend this business. I hired him to do some repairs and layout changes to our irrigation system. I thought the price was reasonable at first, but after the work was done I feel we overpaid significantly and for poor-quality work. He refused to do some repairs; the changes that were made to the layout were incomplete and left our system without proper overlap; he caused damage to a zone which renders it unusable and never came back to fix it after saying that he would; and the points in the yard where digging had been done were carelessly put back together if at all. Lastly, communication throughout the process was quite poor with multiple text messages and emails going unnoticed. read more

APPOINTMENT OFFERED ON A SUNDAY WAS IDEAL. I asked that the window of time to arrive be between 12:15 and 1 pm, instead of noon to 1 pm. They said "no." WHY NOT ALLOW ME AN EXTRA 15 MINUTES TO ARRIVE AT HOME? What seems to be a minimal accommodation would not work. If they would reconsider accommodating me in a rather minor manner (45 minute window (12:15 to 1 pm) instead of requiring noon to 1 pm, I would have been happy to invite this company to provide a quote. Great reviews. But unwillingness to work with us over this seemingly small matter does not enhance confidence. An offer for a different day will not allow my wife to be present. We had Irving and his crew complete our backyard at our new house. He installed a 3 zone sprinkler system, 4 trees, rock and lot's of sod, in addition to a great flagstone path. They worked very quickly and had the job done way faster then I had anticipated. We got 4 bids and irving was the most reasonable. Irving is a great guy and takes pride in his work, plus he gets back to you quickly via email or text, which is unusual with contractors from my past experience. Irving and his team at Leaf & Stone were unbe"leaf"able. Throughout the process, I was able to reach them via email, phone and even text which made coordinating and making progress so easy. They installed backyard landscaping including pavers, sprinklers and sod, mulch, shrubs and buried drain pipes. The work was so fast and well done, I added a few things on my front landscaping too: a few drip lines, shrubs and boulders. Irving is a fair and thorough business owner- when I went to Pioneer to look at material options (including some he'd recommended), the employees there raved about his integrity as well. My next door neighbors loved the work so much, they've hired him to do their backyard landscaping too. Highly recommend! read more

I communicated this tree ring project in detail with photos and your company sent me an email that said you would do it which I have a copy :-(. You said it will take weeks to have you come out for an estimate, but said you were interested and I honored that delay. You came to house and estimated $430.00 which you sent me in writing. I responded that we would do that but now I get an email saying basically that the project is too small. Don't waste my time estimating projects that your too stuck up to do. I would recommend Leaf and Stone to anyone. Irving and his team were very pleasant and they personable. They got my sprinkler system fixed in 1 hr and over $100 less than quoted. I can't say enough about Irving and his team! It is very refreshing to find someone in this industry who truly does what they say they will do. Not only does Leaf & Stone have very competitive rates, they do really good work! We had our back yard landscaped with rock, sod and sprinkler. We also have a walk out basement with steep grade on the sides. They did a great job grading and installing a breeze path. Also installed a split rail and a raised garden bed. Not much these guys can't do! I would highly recommend them to anyone interested in a multitude of landscaping services! read more

As perfectionists, my wife and I debated whether to install another retaining wall ourselves or to hire it out. We'd done several smaller walls around our property, but we needed a larger one--about 100 feet long and 5 feet high, incorporating stairs. We opted to hire it out, and of the 3 recommendations for landscaping contractors we received from Pioneer Sand Company (landscaping supply), we went with Saree Leaf & Stone. Their bid was professionally done, and their price was comparable to the other bid we received. And that's just where the good things started. The owner, Irving (also a perfectionist), has a substantiated confidence balanced with professionalism, personality, and customer empathy. These characteristics flow through his crew, both in their work ethic and in the results they produced. I offered our guest bathroom to them; every time they asked to use it (which was few), they voluntarily removed their boots as if it were "just what you do." When Irving knew that they wouldn't fill the Dumpster they brought in, he offered the remaining space for large items I needed to get rid of. The Saree crew also uprooted an old stump and helped tear down an old fence--as a courtesy. Before they finished, we asked Irving to provide an estimate on another section of wall that we'll need later. Saree Leaf & Stone was truly a pleasure to work with, and the wall they built continues to drop neighbors' jaws. read more

I waited several weeks for an estimate appointment and Irving did not show up for the 4:00 pm appt. on 6/22/18. I sent a message through Yelp was told that he forgot, but that he would come by to do my estimate. He looked at the area and said he would email the estimate to me. A week later, it hadn't arrived and my phone message to the office was ignored. July 1st, I reached a woman in the office who said she would check with Irving. I subsequently received the following email message from Irving: "I apologize but at this time we are not able to provide a quote for the services needed in your project.  Please accept my apology for any inconvenience.  Thank you Irving." He completely wasted my time for the past month- beware! read more

I used Irving on a project at my house. He showed up to do the estimate and took my chicken scratch drawing and was able to create an estimate very quickly. When he said he would be there he always showed up his guys did an excellent job. During the project we ran into a few issues and after a quick phone call we had everything resolved and the project never slowed down. A few of the issues were clearly my fault and he did not nickle and dime me with change orders, (They were not huge changes) He just took care of it. We got quotes and had several people come out to look at our yard, which was just dirt and needed to be fully landscaped. Iriving was the only one who made recommendations of what he thought might look best with the layout. He was knowledgeable, helpful and friendly and after receiving his quote, very competitively priced. We had a few small delays on long the way, but overall, we were very happy with his crew and the final outcome. We love how the yard and patio look, especially the sitting wall and fire pit! Side note, we also used him on a rental property we have in the Denver area, he did a great job on that project as well. read more

On April 2, Irving arrived right on time to take a look at my backyard. We talked about the changes I wanted to make, and he offered a few helpful suggestions. I was impressed with his professionalism and manner. He told me that he would send a bid and a rough drawing of the work within a couple of weeks. He also told me then that he was booked through June, and I didn't have a problem with that. I never got the bid or the drawing within the two-week time frame. My bad for not contacting him again at that point; but, I knew he was busy, I was not in a rush, and I gave him the benefit of the doubt. When I e-mailed him on June 25 to find out if I was still on his radar and to let me know if he was still interested in doing the work, Amanda responded: "I apologize, we went through a small transition within our office and this seems to have fallen through the cracks, I am so sorry, but we are still more than happy to get you a bid. Irving can get this to you this weekend,. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to reach out via phone or email." I was so looking forward to seeing the bid this weekend, but for the second time, I never got one as promised. I'm very sorry to say that I am not one of Irving's many satisfied customers. read more

I was the largest project for Saree as of April 2016 - 13,000 sq ft lot that needed irrigation, grading and landscaping. I met with Irving in February as I was interviewing prospective landscapers. I enjoyed Irving's enthusiasm as his company is relatively new. I had anticipated that energy and our discussions to transfer to the quality and workmanship. However, that has proven otherwise. My yard was a blank canvas needing everything. I immediately had concerns when the project started regarding Irving's knowledge of managing a large and expansive project. The project was scheduled to take 2 weeks and it was my understanding it was based on the quotes he had given me. I had requested 3 quotes broken down by projects. I had decided to implement all 3 at once, but Irving failed to confirm and communication was a constant issue. Product began to be delivered immediately in front of my house. However, the yard had yet to be graded and properly prepped. Irving was more interested in focusing on the patio with pavers. His area of expertise.The irrigation was also implemented at the same time. I had drawn a picture of my vision. It showed how I wanted the pavers and the style. When I came home from work, it was nothing like what I had drawn or discussed. I didn't have the heart to have him pull apart and he did offer. He told me to help my with my vision he would be marking the yard with spray paint. This did not occur until we discussed the placement of the 2 berms which were to mirror each other. Size and shape are anything but matching During this time, the sod had been delivered, sitting on the pallet for over a week. As you can guess it was dying and drying up. His solution was Revive. Some of the sod needs more than Revive, it needs replacing. Once everything was in place I was happy to have it done and I thought it looked nice until I began to maintain my yard. The grading was never done as he tried to cover up areas with the rock. Inadequate us of weed guard and poorly fitted. I'm fighting weeds every week. The mulch he placed is ground up garbage (CD's, sponges, old wood) dyed a nice shade of brown, but literally garbage. The sod is poorly fitted, gapping in many areas. The burying of down spouts, but not preparing the drainage area to handle substantial down pours. Having the rain backup against the house. Sod has settled reflecting the dips and valleys that were in my yard before he started. The sprinkler manifold leaks, using construction grade material and not professional grade. My biggest regret is wanting to work with a young company versus a licensed landscaper with experience to back it. I am in the process of working with other professionals to correct what I can. I had reached out to Irving on numerous occasions, but once I wrote the final check it was goodbye from Irving. Oh yeah, if you have a project as extensive and as long as mine and they don't deliver a Porta Potty, but ask to us your house, you might want to rethink your decision. read more
