I would complain heavily. An agreement is a simple thing that is part of every surveyors job. I am not using their service. My property in idlewild will rot and not make them any money in property taxes.

I researched land surveying companies in Lake County, Michigan and decided to go with Wetherell to survey land my husband and I had recently purchased. The RFP I completed on their website was answered promptly, and the next few emails between Patrick and Tiffanie were also promptly answered. I was informed of the price and that it would take three weeks to complete the survey. They requested a 50% deposit, so I sent them a check the next day (Friday) and it was cashed that Monday. When 3 1/2 weeks went by, beginning from that Monday, and I hadn't heard anything I sent Tiffanie an email asking for an update. We couldn't drive by to see if the work was done or stop by their office since we live hours away. After a couple of days, I followed up with a phone call and left a detailed voice mail message asking for an update, and that it's ok if the work has to be delayed since we aren't in a hurry, and being hours away we would REALLY appreciate an update. After waiting several more days and not receiving an email reply or a returned phone call, I reached out again via email being terse and requesting to receive an update that day along with a picture of the progress. Still no reply. I called the Lake County Building Department to make sure Wetherell Land Surveying is a legitimate business and they said it was. So the only thing we could do was wait until we were able to visit the property to see if the work was done. If it wasn't, I planned to file a report with the Better Business Bureau and possibly call the authorities since I had no idea what recourse we had since our check was cashed weeks before. Five weeks after they cashed the check, we finally received an invoice for the balance and two copies of the registered land survey. We waited to send the balance due until we visited the property to make sure the work was done properly, and it was. If they had a backlog of work that resulted in us having to wait a couple of months to have the property surveyed or something like that, it would have been fine with us. The major issue we had is as soon as the check was cashed, we never heard a word from them again until the invoice arrived. What should have been an easy, pain-free experience turned out to be a very frustrating one.

After my daughter signed a purchase agreement to purchase property from this realtor, my daughter drove from Cincinnati, OH to Baldwin, MI to deliver what Anna Riling said she needed to do by bringing a $500 earnest deposit (which you don't need to execute a purchase agreement) Anna Riling flat out lied to my daughter the day she arrived with the deposit. My daughter was told that someone came in and paid cash for the property. No courtesy call from Anna, no options discussed like cash offer or land contract just here's another property next to railroad tracks for the same amount of money. Hmmm... property on the Baldwin River or property next to railroad tracks? A week later the property was still listed for sale and was never changed on the MLS as pended from the apparent "cash" deal a week ago. We called another realtor in that area to see if the property was still available for purchase and it was. My daughter put in both a pre-approved conventional loan purchase agreement and a cash pre-approved purchase agreement and John Weeks rejected them both saying someone came in over the weekend and did a land contract purchase on the property when we had a cash offer in before that. IF YOU SEE A PROPERTY LISTED BY NORTH WEST REALTORS RUN IN FACT SPRINT THE OTHER WAY. JOHN WEEKS AND ANNA RILING ARE DISHONEST PEOPLE!!! PS - There will be an ethics complaint filed to the local area realtors association governing body. Innocent people need to know about the business dealings of North West Realtors.
