Prompt and professional. Completed the survey within 2 weeks. In addition to the corners (base price survey) I asked to stake the property line (a reasonably priced add on) of my heavily wooded 7.5 acres, which resolved some issues with my neighbors, who are very nice but over time unmarked property lines could get lost in the woods. read more

Called to get a survey and they said "send me money, we dont do contracts". So i hung up and started writing and calling. I dont do surveys without an agreement and neither should you. I would complain heavily. An agreement is a simple thing that is part of every surveyors job. I am not using their service. My property in idlewild will rot and not make them any money in property taxes. read more

I was hovering between 1 and 2 stars, so I decided to round up only because the work was finally completed. I researched land surveying companies in Lake County, Michigan and decided to go with Wetherell to survey land my husband and I had recently purchased. The RFP I completed on their website was answered promptly, and the next few emails between Patrick and Tiffanie were also promptly answered. I was informed of the price and that it would take three weeks to complete the survey. They requested a 50% deposit, so I sent them a check the next day (Friday) and it was cashed that Monday. When 3 1/2 weeks went by, beginning from that Monday, and I hadn't heard anything I sent Tiffanie an email asking for an update. We couldn't drive by to see if the work was done or stop by their office since we live hours away. After a couple of days, I followed up with a phone call and left a detailed voice mail message asking for an update, and that it's ok if the work has to be delayed since we aren't in a hurry, and being hours away we would REALLY appreciate an update. After waiting several more days and not receiving an email reply or a returned phone call, I reached out again via email being terse and requesting to receive an update that day along with a picture of the progress. Still no reply. I called the Lake County Building Department to make sure Wetherell Land Surveying is a legitimate business and they said it was. So the only thing we could do was wait until we were able to visit the property to see if the work was done. If it wasn't, I planned to file a report with the Better Business Bureau and possibly call the authorities since I had no idea what recourse we had since our check was cashed weeks before. Five weeks after they cashed the check, we finally received an invoice for the balance and two copies of the registered land survey. We waited to send the balance due until we visited the property to make sure the work was done properly, and it was. If they had a backlog of work that resulted in us having to wait a couple of months to have the property surveyed or something like that, it would have been fine with us. The major issue we had is as soon as the check was cashed, we never heard a word from them again until the invoice arrived. What should have been an easy, pain-free experience turned out to be a very frustrating one. read more

5 Stars for Wetherell Land Surveying. This is a review which covers the many years which my office and I have been doing business with Wetherell Surveying. It goes back 40 years and hundreds of surveying projects they have helped us with. Pat Johnson, the present owner, and his staff have always been a great help and provided outstanding service. I believe he has been the owner for something around 20 years, yes I remember when he started, and personally he has become someone whose business practices I totally trust and appreciate. Over the years Pat has been very helpful and at times he's had to be very understanding with my office and staff. Being a real estate broker (North West Realty) and developer, my agents, staff and I have taken Wetherell Surveying for granted many times. They always smile and help us. I would recommend Wetherell Surveying and Patrick N. Johnson to anyone looking for a professional surveyor. They go out of their way to be honest and professional and have always offered outstanding service to my office, my customers and myself. read more

I want to thank all of the employees at Wetherell Land Survey for the unbelievable service I received for both of my Survey jobs. I received such great service for the first job, I had them do another survey three (3) months later. The office staff from manager to reception, the surveyor was awesome. The office personnel were thorough in answering all of my questions, giving me a service date and keeping to it, along with getting my papers to me in a timely manner. The great surveyor was patient, (I ask a hundred questions) , knowledgeable, helpful, I know he took more time with me than he needed to. I appreciate all of them very much. They returned my calls right away, answered the phone every time I called. Made me feel like I was genuine important. I thank them. Elizabeth Boyer read more

Wetherell has been a friend to me for some time. I first used them to survey my adjacent properties for a septic system install and when I sold one of those properties, they were out to mark the property line. Both times they sent competent surveyors who were friendly, helpful and thorough. I felt like I had an old friend come out promptly and was fair on their price. Recommend them highly and will use them again when the time comes. Kim, Patrick and everyone there are easy to talk to and understand their business. read more

I had my property surveyed recently and was very happy with their work. Professional, friendly, and very helpful they are always in high demand, which I found out when I ordered... They told me I would have a 3-4 week wait, however one day out of the blue, Patrick was in my area and managed to fit me in early. He was very patient and answered all my questions when I had them. I would recommend them to anyone and everyone I know. You can't go wrong with these guys! read more
