For all my haircuts, you ask where I go? In Beverly Hills, salon Lea Journo. The secret is out, and now I can boast! The one to cut hair, his name is Carlos. You only need to, know how to get through, the labyrinth I tell in the Four Seasons Hotel. Walk by the valet, go in the entrance, you can take the stairs or the elevator. Makes sense? You'll pass many doorways that all lead to rooms, where happy travelers stay I presume. Just follow the signs so you don't go astray, or ask an employee, they'll show you the way. And then you will reach the lounge and the pool, take one more flight of stairs that shine just like jewels. Finally, you have reached your greatest endeavor. You'll be greeted nicely by the front desk guy, named Edgar! He'll ask who you booked with, and you'll say Carlos! They'll put on your hair gown, they are quite the hosts! Carlos will then greet you! You're finally there, "Just come take a seat, and I'll do your hair. He'll ask, "How do you like it?" And" What is your style?" Like an amazing client, you'll tell him with a smile. Once he has heard all that you have said, he'll get all the things he'll need for your head. He'll snip and he'll snap. He'll cut it away, the hair you don't like. What more shall I say? And then he will guide you to sit in the chair, where he then can wash and rinse out your hair. A nice scalp massage, just relax and feel fresh. Salon Lea Journo is simply the best! And when he is done, you'll look in the mirror. Things don't always seem to be as they appear. At first thought you might think it's an impostor, standing in front of you holding an Oscar. But it is in fact you with a fresh looking cut! A haircut with Carlos, is clearly a must! The Doctor Seuss inspired poem aside... Carlos! Thank you for making sure I am always ready even for the last second meetings where I gotta look sharp and my best! If I shine today, I am reminded who worked his magic on my hair! read more

Took my teenage son here for the weekend to get a haircut, mani and pedi for a huge holiday party. Dropped my son off and was told to be back in 90 minutes. I came back and was told, "sorry our barber had a conflict in his schedule and couldn't make it so we just did the mani and pedi" As a result, my son went to our big gala without having had a haircut. They didn't bother to call me right back and tell me their barber was a no show. I could have taken my kid to a barbershop nearby in time for the party. They instead said, nothing and gave me no option. I would have liked the option of turning down the entire service and rushing my son to a nearby barbershop. How in the world was this no show by their barber not worthy of an immediate call to me so I could figure out an alternative? Awful communication especially for the price. Not very well handled. Would not recommend this salon unless you want to say you went to Beverly Hills to get pampered and styled for the superficiality of it all. read more

Ridiculously expensive. Charged m $800 for two mani/pedis with gel on three. Absurdly expensive with no clue ahead of time.

Lea is the best hair specialist in my entire life. I have never been able to achieve such a beautiful blonde, usually it was yellow or at least turned yellow after a few washes. But everything is perfect here. Despite the fact that we do a strong bleaching, the hair remains shiny and alive. I adore Lea and definitely recommend it to everyone. Her own products are great too! Shampoo, conditioner and oil! read more

The salon is located at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel with a great view of the pool. The prices are expected from a Beverly Hills salon, but the quality matches the price tag. I've had my share of disappointing haircuts elsewhere, and this salon is worth the splurge. The staff was very nice and welcoming. Mariano cut my hair and did a wonderful job. He did the perfect balance of keeping my length with a noticeable change. I loved receiving compliments from my friends and family for my new haircut. I also came with my boyfriend's daughter. She was extremely happy with her new haircut by Xavier and can't wait to go back. read more

Always enjoy a cut here. Top of the line. Lea has the experience to make your style superb! Thanks!!

Mariano is the hair whisperer. I've been going to Chaz dean, and they're good, but they take forever when they do my hair. I went out on a limb and tried Mariano and he got me in and out in an hour. Such precision and it wasn't a rushed experience at all, but he just obviously been doing this for a while. Couldn't recommend him enough for a great fast cut. I can't wait to do color with him next month! See my hair flip video I uploaded! Lol read more

Lea is an artist and incredibly talented hair specialist. I have never met anyone like her. First, she looked at my face and precisely told me what I needed to become more feminine and to emphasize my eyes. She built the haircut meticulously and the result was outstanding. She taught me how to wear it and do it myself. I completely adore her and her kindest team. The atmosphere is relaxing and enjoyed every minute at the Salon. read more

Met a fabulous stylist, Crystal Pray!, while vacationing in LA.. Simply went to salon Lea Journo for a blow out & met Crystal... She did not blow out my hair, the next day she was changing my color... I instantly knew she was going to make my hair look awesome! It was exactly what I wanted! A blonde Balayage!!! Crystal is a true artisan! Can not wait to see her in NYC... The entire staff is lovely at Lea Journo! read more

I began going to the Lea Journo salon less than a year ago, but it didn't take me more than one visit to know that I had found my new hair-home! Living in LA and as someone who has worked in the beauty industry for several years, I was inundated with salon recommendations from friends and co-workers. When I heard about the salon from a friend, I immediately began following them on Instagram. I was blown away by their cuts and color! I started with Crystal Pray and I will stick with her until the end. She is an amazing, innovative stylist and I feel gorgeous every single time I leave her chair. If you are in need of a seriously amazing salon that will never disappoint, look no further. Plus, you'll be able to meet the salon's head mastermind, Lea Journo, who could not be sweeter and more kind. A true GEM in Beverly Hills! read more

Amazing! Went in for a blow dry and Xavier Coll transformed by dry, lack luster hair into a masterpiece! Had a glossing treatment (lipgloss for my hair according to Megan, styling assistant) and he trimmed it and viola a new me! Visiting from Chicago but tempted to fly there just to have Xavier and team pamper and primp me again. Expensive but worth every $ it cost! 5 stars, bravo and what a wonderful salon. read more

I got a hair treatment here (made a previous review here too) and I highly recommended my sister to go as well. Well...My sister just got a trim AND Milbon deesses conditioning treatment. Her hair was so dry and severely damaged, but after going to Mariano (same stylist I had) her hair is so silky and shiny now and no split ends! She says it's a lovely salon with great people too. She will definitely be going back! read more

I've been going to the Lea Journo Salon for years and Crystal Pray is absolutely amazing. She's done over 10 sets of extensions on me and they've been so good that nobody even KNOWS I have extensions unless I volunteer the information. My real hair is pretty short and very thin but Crystal does a full set of long blonde extensions on me and it's always looks absolutely Incredible. Crystal also always does my highlights, etc. I love this salon and I definitely recommend Crystal for whatever it is you need done..she's amazing at everything read more

If you're looking for a chic, fantastic & multifaceted salon - look no further! Lea Journo is full of kind, capable & talented stylists - especially Crystal Pray. In a land of homogenized bottle blondes - she'll make yours personal, unique & a stand out cut above the rest. And speaking of cuts - she's quite adept at those, too! I can't remember the last time I loved a double whammy cut & color so much. But she's a BOSS with blondes. Follow her on Instagram @theblondieboss & check out the whole team at www.leajournosalon.com And might I add, even with an elite list of celebrity clientele, this is the most unpretentious & hospitable environment I've found in a salon in Los Angeles. And their prices are reasonable, too. Ridiculously expensive doesn't always mean better! This is a classy establishment all around. Perhaps because the owner is French? Trés beau. Trés chic! read more

I have been going to Jesus for many years and when he moved to Lea Journo, I was so excited because it's next door to where I work! Jesus is an amazing hairdresser! He has magic fingers that make your hair look amazing without even taking scissors to it. The Salon is a little hard to get to if you don't know where it is, but it's definitely a hidden gem! It sits above the pool at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel, has a great view! Everyone is SUPER nice and supportive. You can order food and drinks there as well. My boss was getting a major honor at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel and we needed to get her hair and make-up did stat! The Lea Journo salon was open on a Monday, which is unheard of for salons and catered to our needs amazingly! First of all, you feel transported to another beautiful universe when sitting in the salon which is located hovering above the beautiful hotel pool and the service was great. Priscilla did a fabulous job on my bosses hair, which she styled to perfection and Adela did just a stunning and natural make-up artistry on my boss, and did i mention everyone was so kind that they joozed up my hair and make-up as a courtesy! Great service! Would come back for sure. read more

This review is for Crystal. I have been going to Crystal for quite a few years now and not only is she fantastic at her job but she is friendly and a pleasure to be around. Recently she highlighted my hair the currently popular silver/gray and I could not be happier. Apparently this color is extremely hard to get right but Crystal really knows what she is doing because I am constantly being complimented on my hair! She is totally willing to work with what you want to do with your hair and will make sure you leave feeling happy. I am now at the point where I trust her so much that I just tell her to do what she thinks is best and guess what, I always end up thrilled! I highly recommend visiting Lea Journo and Crystal for your next do. read more

After a recent visit to Lea Journo,The Salon, located at the world-class hotel, The Four Seasons Beverly Wilshire, in Beverly Hills, California, we were excited to find out how many of the stars are sprinkled with the magic touch of owner Lea Journo, the beauty alchemist behind most of the A-Listers and stylist Robby LaRiviere (who is just OK.) This tony little enclave overlooking the luxe swimming pool and spa, is the source for some of Hollywood's most sparkling stars. This salon is famous for creating Hollywood's most noteworthy glitterati from Ellen DeGeneres and her beautiful partner, Portia de Rossi, Jennifer Aniston and even Brad Pitt. The list is long and all of them are delivered the royal treatment, with glamorous, beautiful, healthy-looking hair and beauty. Before any Red Carpet event you may see Catherine Zeta-Jones, Ryan Seacrest, Britney Spears, Natalie Portman and Orlando Bloom to other A listers. After a brief encounter with LaRiviere at a gifting suite before the 2013 Oscars, this Los Angeles Examiner Fountain of Youth columnist was convinced that she would never have to suffer the frizzees again with one treatment of GK Global Keratin Resistant. After one treatment and an hour of beauty and fashion info, you can walk out of this salon knowing that you are in great hands. Silky, shiny hair, glowing skin and makeup that enhances your personal best beauty. Lea Journo's "line of coveted beautifiers include an impressive array of hair products with such exotic ingredients as French Plum Oil, Cashmere Proteins, and Marine Extracts." So this is how French women look so fabulous. A visit to the salon, and you will glean years of secrets from Journo and LaRiviere. Beyond all the star-studded glitz and glamour, this salon has the warmest glow, especially Lea. read more

This review is for CRYSTAL PRAY. In short, she's amazing!! I needed to go from a dark blonde to very, very bright blonde in a short amount of time. A friend sent me to Crystal. She saw the photo I had to follow and adjusted it according to what would be most flattering for my skin tone. I was there for 5 hours, but the results were incredible! My hair looked natural and healthy. And EXACTLY like the photo. Only better. :) She is a genius with blondes and puts so much care and professionalism into everything she does. She cares so much about her work, and about gaining the trust of all her clients. I will come back to her. I will recommend her without hesitation. I came back for a hair cut later in the week and literally said, "whatever you want to do is fine." She gave me a fantastic cut that gave my thick, wavy hair much more volume and shape (it can get heavy and look like a triangle otherwise). It was great. Bonus: she's super laid back and so easy to talk to. None of the gossip that sometimes plague salons (and frankly wear me out). So I appreciate that as well. Everything about my experience with Crystal was 5 stars. She's smart, talented, and will hear your desires and give you results better than you imagined. read more

Jesus - Yes, by the time you walk out with a very stylish men's haircut the experience was truly 'religious'. Where others rush a mens hair cut and use too much clippers, Jesus finds the perfect blend btwn. using clippers for a tight blend, he also masters the art of 'scissor blending' - My haircut is very unforgiving when rushed and every time I come out of my appointment I feel like a million bucks. For those of you looking for that 'proper mens hair cut' that is extremely tapered on the side and so modern, don't waste your time @ a barber as Jesus will give it that 'extra touch' to set it apart from a typical buzz-cut. He takes his time until he is himself 100% satisfied and is a true pro in his art - A true rarity that Salon Lea should hold on to and you readers should give a try. read more

Back to Alexandra for a root touch up and a blow out from Priscilla. I looked like a Million Bucks when I walked out.

I recently had my hair cut at Lea Journo Salon, The Salon located above the pool area of the gorgeous and famous Beverly Wilshire Hotel. I was referred by a friend of mine who raved about Marc Bensemhoun a very attractive frenchman, and his technique of cutting and coloring hair. I had to try him! Immediately I booked an appointment ,which I was expecting to take forever like it has with many other salons in the area, but Marc fit me in within a couple days of making the appointment and was as accommodating and sweet as they come. He even encouraged me to send him photos of the look I wanted to accomplish so he could review it and see how my skin tone and coloring would look with what I wanted. I was so impressed by how thorough and professional he was and was so comfortable going into the appointment knowing he was prepared to accomplish the look I aspired for. I model for a living so getting the right cut and color is essential for me in bookings and it has been difficult to find someone who knew how to get that perfect blonde color that looks "beachy" and effortless but without looking overly ombre or trendy. I knew he was the man or the job, and I was so right! Marc sat with me at the beginning of our appointment and we went over everything from my texture to the options I had in color and what he recommended. I felt at east and told him I totally trusted his opinion and was in his hands. Marc broke the base of the bad skinny highlights I had prior to give me a clean slate, and then did Balayage hi lights to give me a true blonde color that looks natural and bright. I couldn't be happier with my cut and color and feel he really allowed me to feel more confident in myself by giving me texture, shape, and color that highlighted my facial structure and skin tone. I am absolutely in love and walked outta that Salon with a pep in my step feeling sexy and beautiful. My agents were also obsessed with my new found hair and I will NEVER go to anyone else again. MARC BENSEMHOUN is where its at and I really cant say enough good things about him. I highly recommend him, you wont be sorry. read more

Crystal Pray is not only a genius when it comes to my color, but she's absolutely lovely. That's something she shares with every member of the Lea Journo team...they're all so nice! Considering they work with a ton of Hollywood's elite, I couldn't feel more comfortable and pampered when I visit. My hair is finally healthy and colored perfectly for my skin tone. The massage at the wash bowl and occasional glass of champagne while staring out at the hotel pool is just the cherry on top. If you're a blonde and want perfect highlights, go see Crystal!! read more

If you're a man looking for a nice side fade, only go with Mariano. Someone else handled my hair and it went terrible. He had to step in to fix it. It was a rescue mission. 5 stars for my 5 star hairdresser Jesus! I've been going to him for longer than I can remember and have followed from salon to salon and that's how I ended up here. The place is a bit hard to find the first time, but after that it's no biggie. Super cute and trendy and everyone that works there is very friendly and professional. I have thick wavy hair and Jesus is the only hair dressed that knows how to work it. The best part is that the haircut looks even better over time! I've found that anyone else that has ever tried to cut it leaves me feeling like my hair is "heavy" - but not Jesus. He even does my color and I love it. Natural sun kissed brown tones so I don't look over processed and he never hesitates to tell me if something won't work for me - which I appreciate! read more

Agree with previous posts - you always leave Lea Journo Salon looking and feeling like a supermodel. The salon itself is gorgeous, bright, clean, and chic. The staff is exceptionally sweet and helpful. For a cut, Angelique is AMAZING - the first thing we did was talk about what look I wanted and what my morning routine can handle in terms of styling and upkeep. I have long thin hair (lots of it, but its thin) and I generally don't have time to do a blow dry when I wash it in the mornings and I'm just not that skilled with styling products. I needed a look that could air dry and still have shape and body without falling flat. The result was a cut that is PERFECT for my hair texture and length and lifestyle. It's so versatile! Angelique is a true artist and pays attention to every detail - she will not let you walk away until every strand is perfection. Plus she's sweet and so much fun to spend your time with while in the chair :) I can't imagine getting a cut anywhere else! P.S. The hair product line is wonderful as well!! read more
