Christelle is an artist. my wife, was tired of coloring her hair, and wanted to just go gray. She is Asian, so her hair is very thick. Christelle was able to strip the years of box color from my wife's hair and blend it so well with what will eventually be her natural color. read more

If i could give them a 10 plus I would!!! I spend years trying to find a great hair salon in Calvert. I am particular. Not only is the owner friendly and knowledgeable, but really cares about her customers!! This past year I was not feeling great. I went for my hair color and she said no, she said I needed to see my Dr as my hair was not healthy. I see Dr regularly, so I was skeptical. She checked in with me till I got in to see my Dr. Thank goodness!! Turns out I had a serious health issue that if not discovered when it was - would have been extremely critical!! read more

Amazing. I called on a super snowy day and was able to get squeezed onto the books. I needed a hair treatment very badly and was able to have Christelle advise me properly. I wish all hair stylists, like Christelle, took the time to examine hair and give professional opinion that will help strengthen and grow hair. I had amazing service and highly recommend this place. Not even one star !! When I stopped by the owner told me that she was totally booked and one of her hair master was at lunch but when she comes back she can cut my hair. Anyway she came back and started to cut my hair. She was very unprofessional and very lack of positive attitude. She needs lots of training. She hardly cut my hair since she was also so slow. BecUse probably she doesn't know what she is doing. She didn't clean the hair on my neck which she told at the end she will clean. I don't know how an owner hires someone that still does not know how to cut hair. I don't want to be mean to her but that's a hair salon and it is important that what you are doing. Plus even though the owner told that she was pretty booked she was dying a lady's hair but then chatting with a tall guy or texting on her phone. She would definitely could find a time to deal with my hair but she didn't and she directed me to her employee that knows nothing about the job. I was to give them zero Star but it isn't avaible I guess. Please do not go there for your hair unless you don't care if they know what they are doing. I am charged $35 for this ugly hair cut and gave her $10 tip so maybe she can use that money to go and have some kinda hair cut training. I never ever recommend this salon to anyone. They really need to implement that negative star thing- This place is a complete scam with extremely poor business practices. The stylists do not have a clue what they are doing, and even though the owner thinks she does and boasts of her 27 years of styling, the outcome is dreadful. Atmosphere- 1 cheap decorations, really uncomfortable chairs. Stylist said maybe 5 words to me the whole time. Prices- 0 completely unfair and unprofessional. I had no problems paying $150-$190 when I went to my old Aveda salon in Seattle. The outcome was amazing. Here- run. Run far away. Quality- 1 Haircut wasn't terrible. Color was horrendous. I am new to the area and needed a new salon. I called for a cut and color and was told the price would be $80. I asked "and how much for the cut?" because this seemed low to me. She responded "that's included in the color price". After my 4 hour service in which the stylist left bleach on my hair for over 2.5 hours, and teased each foiled section of my hair into awful knots- which had to be combed out and took another 45 minutes- my hair looks terrible and is completely ruined. Over 6 inches of my hair will need to be cut off to make it look decent. The ends are luminescent blonde- so fried that even my boss noticed and asked me what happened to my hair. My hair has orange/copper stripes leading up to bright blonde ends. The effect was supposed to be Ombre but looks dipdyed. I showed the stylist several pictures of very natural ash blonde ombres before we started and asked if she could do this, she assured me she could. I was so traumatized when she flipped me around to show me I just wanted to get out of there as soon as possible. I told her to just dry it and don't style it- I was concerned my ends may just fizzle away if any heat was applied. The cut she gave me was decent and I have no complaints about it except when I asked the stylist to blend in my side-bang so they can grow out less noticeably, she had to ask the owner how to do it... and then the owner use a razor on the actual bang part making them super short and fluffy- not helping at all. The owner and the stylist seemed to think this was a great outcome. I agreed at the time to get out of there and go cry (I can never say that I hate a color when I'm in the salon- I feel so guilty). I then went to pay and she told me $90- and was cut off by the owner who said "$165"! I was like wait what? You told me $80 to start, and then she says $90 and you say $165! The owner wouldn't budge. I paid and left and started sobbing in my car. I was never told it would be more expensive, let alone double, at any point during or before my service. Any other salon Ive been to would say something like 'we have to use extra color" or "your hair is longer than we expected, your price is actually going to be closer to "X". DO NOT go here. The other people I saw coming in and paying were all charged random prices off the cuff, and always more than they were quoted when they walked in. read more

I have been a client of Crystale for many years and was devastated when she left my salon and I didn't know where she went. I was elated to find she had opened her own shop. It is a bit of a drive for me but VERY WELL WORTH IT!!!!! The atomosphere is serene, the music is relaxing, and the service is impeccable. I would pay the fee just to have her shampoo my hair which is a heavenly massage!!!! Crystale gives amazing haircuts, does color so well, and her husband keeps the shop stocked with his yummy baked goods that are difficult to resist. She never fails to offer something to drink as well. The price here is so reasonable. I am accustomed to paying for quality service and love that I get it for a moderate level price range. I highly recommend this salon. You cannot go wrong. read more

I am not sure why you are showing only the one negative review for this salon when other favoriable remarks were left. I went there for the first time on 04/26/2014 and got a fabulous cut and color. I have received many compliments. The owner and her staff are very friendly and skilled. I am not sure what Vanessa D. had done, but mine turned out perfect. The atmosphere was pleasant and the cost was no more than the Hair Cuttery across the street. I am heading back this week. I had to leave a review after I read such unflattering remarks. read more

I don't usually leave bad reviews but I pray this never happens to another bride before the most important day of her life. Cristelle is very talented at dying hair blonde and I loved going to her. However, she went to Sally's with me to match my hair to the extensions for my wedding. She said they were good to go and that she would cut them at my one week before the wedding appointment. During that time I told her that I wish she could have been my hair stylist but the wedding was in PA. She said she would travel and got really excited. I told her I would see if I could cancel. There was a $300- ish nonrefundable fee if I cancelled so I texted her letting her know I was going to stick with the other stylist. At my one week before the wedding appt, she acted weird and said she didn't want to cut my extensions if she wasn't the stylist doing my hair. I convinced her to cut them. Once in my hair, half of the extensions were a brassy golden blonde and I am borderline platinum. I freaked out a little and she told me to just buy fanola purple shampoo and lather it on really good. She emphasized literally gushing it on with globs of the shampoo, letting it sit, then rinsing it out and they would lighten. So I did exactly as she said and my extensions went from blonde to PURPLE...like a pretty spring flower...stained purple! They were ruined (we did try clarifying shampoo which helped minimally but there was no getting them back without over washing them). Thankfully I only did 2 strands. I was in tears because I barely had any time left before the wedding to fix it. I wrote her a message letting her know, she read it, and NEVER responded. I ended up contacting another stylist who told me to NEVER put purple shampoo DIRECTLY on extensions because the hair is more porous. I was told to dilute the shampoo with warm water and swish the hair in for no more than 30 seconds, rinse, and repeat until desired outcome. Well, it worked and I was able to salvage what I had left no thanks to Cristelle. Thankfully my old stylist responded quickly. I threw away the pieces of hair that were damaged - which is a bummer considering how expensive they are. Cristelle is very good at hair and very well educated in her field so part of me wants to say it was out of pettiness and it was a malicious act (it isn't the first time she has purposely hurt someone - from her stories) or maybe it was truly a lack of knowledge. BUT, a good stylist would have taken responsibility and at least responded to the distressed message I sent saying I was about to cry and didn't know what to do. A simple apology for her mistake one week before the most important day of my life would have been enough. Because of this, I do not recommend her to anyone. You can have all the talent in the world but if you do not have a kind heart, I want no part in your business. read more

I used to go to Hairport and when I heard that my favorite stylist was opening her own salon, I was very pleased !. I'm coming all the way from Virginia, and it is well worth it ! First of all, when you come in, you feel good, there is a "homey" atmosphere that makes you very comfortable... Love the decoration, very European..Not to much not too little, just the right touch ! What I like particularly about the stylists, is the "before" and "after" pictures.. You can see the difference for the much better, when your stylist is finished with you ! Wow !!! Great cut, hair color , everything !! Very professional and knowledgeable people !!! I always says, instead of doing plastic surgery, go to your favorite hairstylist !!! This is what I do...It is cheaper and you always look younger and better than when you came in !!! Thank you so much, ladies at the Visage salon, for my perfect hair !!! Love it very much !!!
