My first time at the salon I had booked for a dip manicure with removal. The nail technician spent no more than 35min on my service, dip was obnoxiously thick, cuticles looked worse than when I came in and overall the shape wasn't what I asked for. I chalked it up to me being her last appointment, so I gave Le Vernis a second chance. My next visit three weeks later was another disappointment. Not only are the shape of my natural nails uneven (again) the dip started to chip after three days. The salon is clean and they have a great color selection but the technicians lack attention to detail and rush.

just got home from this salon after paying $43 for a classic (basic) pedicure and am disappointed in the quality of the work done. Went with my daughter so I wasn't really paying attention. My nails are differing lengths, are rough to the touch and one baby toe is only half polished. I will not return.

My nails, freshly done. Day 1. At this point, this was a five-star review. - A hand with a gold ring on the ring finger and freshly manicured nails is shown inside a vehicle, with a side mirror and window visible.

I was in dire need of a mani-pedi. My fingernails affect my confidence because people judge you on your nails and your teeth. Enough was enough. It was time for an intervention. I searched in the middle of the night for nail salons near me, reading reviews. This one had excellent reviews and was close by. I made an appointment in the middle of the night. Le Vernis has an extensive menu, and I was surprised by the pricing. What did I expect? The place is named after Chanel nail polish. A classic manicure is $20, and a pedicure is $35.I guess that's pretty standard now that I think about it. I signed up for a French Gel Manicure ($32) and Classic Pedicure at 12:30 pm. I arrived, and the receptionist, Jaden, is dreamy and lovely. Don't get it twisted. He reminded me of my son, who is about his age. You can tell his core is good. He quickly escorted me to my massage chair, placing the plastic bag on the tub and adjusting my water temperature until it was just right. My nail technician came shortly after and started my pedicure. The place is very clean. My chair was fully functional. My favorite aspect of the chair is that it moved forward. This feature is often broken. I am short, so this is an important feature. The massage functions were also pleasing and helped me relax. I admit that I don't remember what she did but how I felt. I was completely relaxed. She cut my toenails short and applied the polish nicely, and I felt good about the world. It was a solid pedicure. I didn't order bells and whistles, but I might next time. The next part is upsetting to me. I was supposed to get French Gel Manicure. But the nail tech asked me if I wanted the French Dipping Powder manicure instead. I expressed that I have steered clear of powder since I was in my early 20s because of the damage to my nails, and I can still remember the pain from when my nails split. However, the nail tech is very engaging, and she explained the pros and cons. The main pro is that it lasts more than two weeks and helps your natural nails grow. Also, she said that dipping powder is very different from the acrylics I used then. I even asked her, "How do I take them off? An hour in acetone?" She said," No, like 5 minutes." I said yes! Yet, all of this was untrue. The Good: *The place is very clean and I like the white design. *Massage chairs are comfortable and actually function. *Jovial staff - everyone is friendly, either saying hi or offering help. *The nail technician was social and fun. The Bad: *I made an uneducated decision, accepting a change that I knew was wrong for me. *French Dipping Powder is pretty much like the acrylics I used to get back in my 20s *My nails split severely and will take months to undo the damage that was done. I have included pics at intervals, so you get a sense of how my nails kept up. I had to soak my nails for upwards of a half hour to get the dipping powder off. Every fear I had came true. I did some reading, and the low down is that this is very damaging to your nails, much like acrylic nails are because they are acrylic-based. Also, against my better judgment, I let her buff my nails because, by the time I realized she was going to do it, it was too late. I have no idea how long it is going to take to make my nails healthy again. Chances are, if I went with my original appointment, I would have given this place 5 stars and kept it as my new nail salon. I took 3 stars away because I communicated why I didn't want a product and was misinformed, changing what I knew in my gut to be true. I will be doing my nails at home for months now.

The salon is always very clean and they have lots of selection. They do a very good job and are very talented with nail art. Very respectful and reasonable prices. They had polish, dip, gel and then like chrome, charms and sparkles

I LOVE THIS NAIL SALON! My nails come out perfect every time and I love them. The nail techs can copy a picture very well with crisp edges and clean lines. I would give this place 5 stars but, for the first couple times I went here I got dip nails because the nail lady recommended it. They were go for about a week and a half then the part of the nail closest to the cuticle would start coming up and it would catch on my hair and that eventually caused it to come of by the 2 week mark. Although for the first time I got acrylics and I would 10/10 recommend this. My nails have lasted for more than 3 weeks with minimal lifting! Plus the refill is only $33ish!!! LOVE the acrylics and I think the dip nails are ok. Is it kinda my fault for getting dip nails in the first place: yes. Are they just trying to make me spend more money by paying $50+ on dip nails each time rather than paying that once with acrylics then paying $30ish for the refill: most likely. BUT do I 100% recommend this nail salon for acrylics and cute nail designs:YES! Don't get me wrong I LOVE this place but I wish I found out about the acrylics sooner. (The acrylics nails are the Hailey Bieber nails + I had to bring my own chrome cus they only have the more rainbow chrome for anyone thinking of getting these nails)

Worst manicure I've ever had. She was so rough and nails starting bubbling and chipping that same day. Not worth the money

This was courtesy of Anna. (Who I didn't book). She also scraped my foot. Meanwhile there were 6 other manicurists hanging out maybe even the mystery Cici I had booked with. And they had the balls to charge for the half-assed pedicure. Beverly health department opens at 9am Monday.

Nails chipped - Two individuals with decorated nails are clasping hands on a wooden table, with one person's nails painted in black and white designs.

They did a really good job on my nail art but it chipped the next day for both me and my friend. And the price was not worth that quality. Mine were $77 and my friends were $87 with out tip. I paid $77 for my nails to chip the next day.

Two of my acrylic nails fell off not even a week after I got them done and my nail became infected a few days after my appointment.

Based on the studio and the service I was expecting it to be expensive, but a manicure and pedicure was $50 which I thought was very reasonable.

I don't know who would want a massage in bright light inside of a building! The massage itself was really different from a lot of the others I've had - hard to describe how, but I felt really good after. I even had a couple of flashes or "visions" while being massaged - just images of trees and a sunny meadow. The relaxed and revitalized feeling lasted a few days after the massage, which is not my usual experience - a lot of the time, I get tense again the next day. After this treatment at BodiScience, I still might get tense from work, but I was able to shift back into the relaxed mode quite easily. Courtney was great!

I have lived in MA since 2001 and have searched exhaustively for a nice day spa. Yesterday I may…read morehave found it here. It is hard to impress me since I lived for a long time in Denver and Phoenix, with access to world class destination spas. So, when I read the reviews on this site, I was hopeful - but did not want to elevate my hopes too much since I have been greatly disappointed by other area spas/glorified salons, before. I called and spoke with Dorothy, who greets customers with a warm voice oozing in empathy. I explained I had a really bad day and just needed a little pampering - and she had an opening for a massage. With the appointment made I ventured over to the office building. It was confusing to me because I had never been to the massive, mostly medical, complex...but Dorothy had explained I should go in by the New Horizon's Day Care center, which proved to be the best suggestion with an easily identified landmark. I was a little early so I indulged in a grilled cheese and tomato soup across the parking lot at the Gold Coast Cafe - it was EXACTLY what I needed...then into the door, just a few steps down the hall and into the inviting office/spa. I was a little concerned going in that the fact it was actually an office complex might distract me. Accustomed to "spas" on Newbury/Back Bay locations, or in settings which are seemingly more soothing - I wondered how a site probably best suited for a doctor's office would perform as a day spa. My concerns were immediately dispelled when Dorothy opened the first set of doors to reveal the space beyond. You are first greeted by a small chair massage area (not in use during my visit) and then four or more pedicure stations (three in use during my visit). The atmosphere was almost solemn, and the women in the chairs receiving treatments seemed to be in another world, without so much as a glance up to see me pass to the waiting room. I was given a form to complete and allowed to do so in a well appointed, cozy waiting room. The space was cozy but not claustrophobic as the suite had replaced the wall that was probably there prior with a glass panel, so someone waiting could see the activity beyond the room, but still relax in the low lighting and music of the lounge. Dorothy also brought me a "lavender collar" to help me reach a little more relaxation - which was a hot and slightly heavy "collar" with a heavy but not distracting scent of soothing lavender. My treatment began with a sample of aromatherapy scents; me choosing which we would use with my eyes closed...each corresponding to whatever my body needs...I chose the one which evidently signifies I am "in transition". The oil therefore should help to "balance and calm" me when added to the massage oil. My main complaint with other area spas, and in fact all spas - is noise. Here there is a reverence that I have never found even in five-star spas in Scottsdale. The staff speaks in a whisper - doors are closed with care not to make a sound, and carpet throughout assures that any footsteps are muffled. There are no passing conversations in the hallway to distract the patron from the service at hand. The massage itself was nurturing and fantastic. Not the deepest massage - which I think some practitioners equate with "good" but rather a nurturing treatment with attention to energy flow, pressure points and relaxation. If only I did not have to re-enter the world when it was over I could have remained in a state of bliss and overall body mushiness. Dressed and despising the thought of going into the world again, I was given a choice of herbal teas, allowed as much time as I wanted in the lounge to sip and complete my relaxation and then make my way to the front whenever I was ready - of course, I was never "ready" but I did eventually saunter up to pay and eventually leave. I have read here and in North Shore magazine that the facials are amazing, which I will try on another, better planned visit. I can say that I will be back. My only complaints, and they are very small - but it wouldn't be one of my reviews without them - are: If you have to go to the bathroom, it is a shock to your system - the entire space is in muted colors with low lighting - the bathroom is that of a doctor's office and kind of jolts you back to reality - I don't want reality - I want to stay in my cocoon. Also, the music is different in the massage room v. the outer rooms - and you can hear the conflict which is MILDLY distracting - it would be better if either the massage room music was louder to drown out the other music, or they were in sync. To my earlier point - I also wish the entry point/retail portion of the spa was also a little more muted in color and lighting - which I understand may be difficult to do with the standard lighting of an office park. Finally, I wish the chairs in the lounge reclined even slightly. Overall - fantastic.
