I had the oyster tasting platter, razor clams and a few escargot from my mom's starter order. We both ordered the mussels and I swear there were 4 dozen in each order! Very attentive and friendly. We had a table by the patio. Definitely make reservations especially for patio seating. I highly recommend this wonderful brasserie. I knew I had to find out what all the fuss was about, so i investigated & everyone there was telling me I had to eat here! So I asked if I could make a reservation for 6 that evening at 8pm and luckily they were able to set up seating for us. The guys working here was super friendly & so inviting, I just loved the atmosphere. When we came back at 8pm we were greeted with open arms & glasses of wine. (Well, we ordered the wine, but they helped us choose!) They presented all their delicious menu items & made suggestions per request. I especially liked that we got free water with our drink order, which seems to only happen 50% of the time in this city. And the food was also amazing! We had the escargot (in butter & pesto - SO good!) to start, followed by the lamb, sausage, and steak entrees. Each plate came with a good amount of side dishes, like potatoes, lentils, and roasted veggies. Every thing was so good & everyone really enjoyed their dishes! Prices were reasonable for what we got. Although I do wish they had more moderately priced wines - there were 2-3 bottles in the €20-30 range, but most were €40+ But hey, it's good wine & I'm on vacation! Overall, my favorite thing about this cute little place was the charming people! Everyone here was so friendly, welcoming, & attentive to us, even though we barely spoke French. One of our favorite dinners in Paris!

Both were excellent -- fresh ingredients, vibrant colors, and a thoughtful mix of flavors and textures. The protein portions were satisfying, the dressings flavorful, and the crunch from the vegetables tied everything together. On top of that, both plates were visually appealing and beautifully presented. While Le Nemrod's menu offers much more than salads, we can't comment on the rest. But based on this experience alone, they clearly know how to deliver.

I want to come back to this restaurant many, many more times. Dear EU, please abandon your plans to…read moreplace visa restrictions on US citizens visiting the EU; it will break my heart to have an obstacle between Aux Lyonnais and me. Now, while I enjoy creative, innovative cooking just as much as the next person (well, actually, I don't really know the next person or his / her likes and dislikes, but I'll use the cliché anyway), the traditional simplicity of the food offerings at Aux Lyonnais still wins me over. The highlight, of course, is the quenelle, which is fluffy and flavorful (although there were literally two pieces of crayfish in the sauce, but I'm not going to be greedy here). The portion size is almost too large, and I am well past the age when I could eat such large quantities of food in one sitting (I know it's odd for someone who lives in the US to comment on large food servings in France; I also know that I probably sound like the crazy woman from reality TV who wanted to divorce her husband - and take his car - because he was too nice to her). Among the desserts, the rice pudding (another example of simple, honest-to-god, tasty food) is quite delightful; the marmalade blends very nicely with the rice pudding, and the candied hazelnuts add a pleasant crunch to the smooth, creamy rice pudding. The meringue floating island is my other favorite dessert, with its light, airy texture and its subtle sweetness. Service is courteous, gracious, solicitous even. I will be back every time I am in Paris. Heck, I will take a trip to Paris just to dine here again (note: OCD is not a good malady to have - duh... there is no good malady to have)!

So disappointing! It's not easy to "fancify" Lyonnaise cuisine, but that's what's happened here…read more And it's not working! The food defies description. The menu is just words signifying very little, and the result is a series of dishes with no roots, no tradition, and for the most part, no taste. It's a corporate experiment by Ducasse and the staff seem tired and dispirited but stuck. From the chilly reception to the unthanked departure, an evening of regret- save for an excellent bottle of Gigondas - hence the two stars. Give it a miss. There are warmer, tastier, less outrageously priced options elsewhere in Paris.

I would skip the beef carpaccio as it was quite chewy but it comes with the scalloped potatoes which was SO DELICIOUS. I am not exaggerating. This warm potato dish with lots of cream and butter is so satisfying that it fills a void in your heart that you never knew you were missing. The beef tartare also comes with the scalloped potatoes which I already raved about above. The beef tartare was so fresh tasting and different from anything we've had before. You mix it together and enjoy. I loved the extra bite you get from the capers. I would definitely recommend this dish here. The Viennese coffee was the perfect ratio of cream to espresso. It might look like a lot of cream but it actually isn't. The cream is silky smooth and there's no sugar in it. It doesn't make you feel sickly afterwards. It's good - get it The service was really good. She came to check up on us and was very friendly The perfect day in Paris would definitely involve the Viennese coffee and the beef tartare from this restaurant.

The ladies (some spoke English and some didn't) worked together to make sure we had a good time. We dined out on Monday evening and the cafe was packed with French people. It was nice to be immersed in the local environment - watching French people gathered drinking wine, and enjoying their friends' company. My fiancé ordered the sausage with mashed potatoes and I ordered two starters like the escargots and the leeks. I wanted to try the local cuisines before I leave France, and it did not disappoint. The meals were lovely. The only thing I wish for was that I was hoping the leeks were warm, however, I think they may be meant to be enjoyed as an appetizer? You can definitely taste a hint of mimosa. It was refreshing. The chocolate was rich and you know it's the French way because it's creamy and buttery. The escargot was prepared with pesto sauce so I didn't have to suck it out of the shells. And I enjoyed dipping the bread into the sauce and I was full afterwards. At the end, they did not rush us out. They also asked if we wanted more bread. Overall, I really enjoyed my experience at this restaurant and if I were ever to come back to Paris and in the Bastille neighborhood, I would come visit again!!
