I get told kind of rudely to go next door to ask for some guy. Guy isn't there. I text. He says he'll be back shortly. 30 minutes later I leave. He could've said pricing, buy a plan, anything, and I would've been been sweet take my money because it's not a far drive and I'd rather hit a bed before losing money laying out. Instead I'm blown off. No sorry im running late. It's hot out. No wait in the AC. I get weights an issue for beds. I would've sent a picture. Like I'm only 125 pounds. I'm not new to tanning. Gym it's attached to looks run down. I've got a business to run too. Waiting for service isn't something I'd expect my customers to do either.

The place was dirty, the toilet was overflowing, the beds did not seem like they were working, and due to the owners medical concerns, we were required to clean our own beds and areas......let's just say, it was not my intent to continue with another month. Several months had passed and I decided that I needed to start tanning prior to my September cruise. I started looking for salons in Gainesville, as this is where I work, and every salon was either closed down, too expensive, or no one was there during business hours. So on my way home (Middleburg), I decided I would stop in one more time to check out Midtown Tanning. Although I was reluctant, I know I needed to start tanning if I wanted to reach my goal before I went on my cruises. ...... My first impression, the windows were open, allowing the fresh air, they had a nice waiting area set up with tables, comfortable chairs and couches, and a great movie was playing on the big screen. Now although, that was not my purpose, it was still very inviting and nice. I was kindly greeted by a young man named Alva. He was professional, polite, and provided me all the information I needed. He advised me that the salon was under new management, and they were attempting to make the salon a more enjoyable place to tan. The test wasn't over yet. I needed to see if the beds had been improved. I tried bed one, which was a turbo bed, which was great. The bulbs had been replaced and the room was clean. Did I mention that the goggles and towel were neatly placed together and provided directly to me. I did not have to go searching for these. After I tanned, I had a nice conversation with Alva and he informed me of all the new changes, like raffles, discounts, rewards cards, etc. It was a much better experience, and I definitely will keep going back.... Once last thing, the price... unbeatable. These are turbo beds with max time of tanning. The price is way cheaper then any other salon, and the customer service just takes the cake. I am very happy that I decided to go back. Thanks Midtown Tanning :)

    Two dates - Oct 29 & then for a return to fix visit on Nov 21…read more I went into the salon to see one of the stylists who had done my prior color to my liking and was told she was no longer with the salon (which wasn't a shocker because this salon has turn over staff and there never seems to be the same staff each time I go in.) I told the girl (Jackie) who was at the counter what I wanted (white streaks (frosted not highlights) since I am going gray which I still had remnants of so she could see how white my hair had been and not blonde or yellow) and she said," I can do that - no problem." I hesitated and repeated several times throughout the experience that I do not want any yellow in my hair. When she finished I had very little of my natural darker brown hair with beige and yellow tones in the color that she did. I stated again that I didn't want any yellow and she said, just use the toner shampoo and it should be ok. After several days of using the toner shampoo, it was not OK! I had to go to Portland for work travel and left on November 4 and wouldn't return until the 9th. I called and talked to one of the stylists but was told the girl that did my hair wouldn't be in until the next day and that I should talk to her directly. So, again I called her while I was in Portland and we arranged for me to go into the salon on the 11th when I returned. On the morning of the 11th (Sunday) I called the salon to be certain that she was there since the salon is 13 miles away and was told that she had the day off and was told again that she wouldn't be at work until Tuesday. (I was a little perturbed because now it seemed like she felt my situation was not important to resolve or she was avoiding me and/or lying.) I called her that following Tuesday ( Nov 13) and asked to come in again so that my hair would be fixed and we arranged to do it on Saturday. In Wednesday or Thursday I realized I couldn't make Saturday but called her and told her that. We then agreed on Sunday. Unfortunately I had unexpected company from out of town come in around noon on Sunday so I did not make it in. I knew I was going to be off on the 21st so I called and was told she was there so I drove the 13 miles and went in to talk to her. She greeted me at the counter and I reminded her of what I wanted. She then asked me what I thought she should do to fix it (I'm not a stylist) and I just asked her what she thought being a little perplexed by her asking me. She said she was just going to put more toner on it and I said I didn't think that would resolve the situation. It wasn't just the yellow in my hair that was the issue, it was the fact that there wasn't any natural color left and that I was completely washed out by the process that she did on my hair. I said that maybe if she just added some of my natural color back it might help resolve the issue? but I had no idea. After talking to me for about 10 minutes, she called over another stylist (Taylor) and said she would do my hair because she had another customer coming in for a color. I was willing to wait for her but she reassured me that this other stylist was aware of the situation and could fix my hair. So, the other stylist put my name in the system and a piece of paper was generated and she asked me to sign it. I read it and said, I didn't do this the last time and if you do not think you fix this please don't try and I would rather just leave and go somewhere else. (The paper was a disclaimer stating that basically they can't be held responsible if there is an issue from the color.) She reassured me that the paper was nothing and that she was certain she could give me the white in my hair that I had requested originally. She also suggested using a brown where my gray was coming in saying that it would blend better when my gray was coming in but that it wouldn't be a harsh contrast so it would look natural. I hesitated but agreed and she proceeded to process my hair constantly reassuring me as we talked. We went back to the rinse bowl and I knew something was wrong because she consulted with Jackie and came back and ended up putting three different toners on my hair until she finally gave up. She took me back to her chair and when she took the towel off of my head, I just sat there in disbelief. She started towel blotting my hair and it was evident that she had no clue what she had been doing. My hair was not only VERY yellow, but it was also reddish brown and had purple streaks in it! She said she did all she could to make it white and just couldn't figure out why it wasn't turning white and then trimmed my hair. Jackie then came over and said the same thing that Taylor did and then both of them pretty much said that it must be something within me. At the end, Taylor went to the register and said that will be $54.97, I said, "I'm not paying that- I was only here to get my hair fixed from the first mess." I will never return to this salon - BEWARE!!!!

I was so grateful to have stumbled upon her Salon. I have been searching for a salon and stylist that truly cares about the health of your hair and who knows how to cut hair properly. Most salons CANNOT cut hair professionally even though they charge you for said "professional cut." Angela will give you an outstanding cut. I firmly believe that my hair grew faster and healthier because of it. My hair was so damaged, tangled and breaking off from hormones and stress. Angela was so sweet and extremely informative about hair health and products. She has a pleasant and gentle energy that transfers to how she handles the service that you're getting. She is honest and gives you all the information regarding your hair as well as how to take care of it "after" the appointment. Every single time I go to Angela my hair looks and feels so healthy, shiny and gorgeous. My scalp feels clean and my my hair has so much body. My style lasts for 7 to 10 days guaranteed when I use a silk bonnet and minimal product. Angela is the best!!
