Le Saint Germain is located in the main square in Mons. Unlike other cafes, they also double as a patisserie. If you just want a coffee and something to munch, grab a table (inside or outside), then go to the pastry counter, tell the lovely young lady what you want and she'll give you a ticket for it. When the waiter comes to your table, order your coffee (or tea or juice or...) and hand him the ticket. He'll bring the drink and the pastry.
As for something more substantial, I'm not sure because I'm a coffee/pastry guy when I go there mostly. They do nice sandwiches though on baguettes or a croque monsieur (toasted ham and cheese sandwich) which comes with a little salad.
Of course you can order beer, cocktails, etc with little plates of meats and cheeses.
The place is very clean, the food is good and its something of a classy place in a low-keyed kinda way. read more
