Great place to stop for a tart and a coffee between museums. We had a pecan tart, a chai latte and a cappuccino.

Walking by, and browsing from outside the window. This place caught my eye! My stomach said, 'go ahead, grab some pastries and coffee before work', and I'm so glad I did. There were plenty of pastries and sandwiches that ye' eye can see! I'm became a fan of this place simply because of it. Not to mention, Queen of Tarts to me was over-hyped and some what of a disappointment. Here, I ordered the: ~Caramel Macchiato: This was made just right! Not overly sweet. ~Pear & Almond Tart: I'm a pear fan, so I love love loved it! The crust was nice and cookie like, and it held up well. Sooo good I wish I had one right now! ~Berry Tart: Same thing! You've gotta try it! A nice cool glaze topping. ~Almond Croissant: Really tasty, but not the best I've ever had. I did not dine here, but I the lady helping me was nice. Came here for lunch and it was delicious. Their lunch specials are reasonably priced. I got the soup and quiche lunch with salad for 13 euros. Soup was potato leek and quiche was Parma ham. It was so good. We ended up getting a strawberry tart and a pecan tart. YUMMY! Will hopefully come back before my trip is over. read more

Very cute parisian place in the city center of Dublin. We try it the first time for breakfast and I was attracted by the name, the sign and then the atmosphere we found once in. It's really small but very quite and the staff is always smiling and friendly. We had the Croque Madame (I fall in love with it and the 2nd time we went there only for that) and the Full Irish. The coffee and the espresso is good. I also think that the price is fair enough for what you eat. read more

The food for the most part is pretty good. What destroys this place for me is the one staff member who is BEYOND rude it made me not able to enjoy my breakfast here a fortnight ago. I have purchased sandwiches and pastries from here on occasion. LOVE their sambos in particular. When I decided to have breakfast here I opted for the poached egg with brown bread. The bread was incredible. Unfortunately there is this person who works here, seems quite senior too and is just the most incredibly rude individual I have ever met in my life. I was also served by her at their smaller branch on Dame Street during the summer. I could never forget someone that rude. I want to go back. But if I pass the window and she is there I will not be going in. Who ever runs this place needs to reevaluate their policies regarding staff attitude towards customers because the last time I was here it was full of Americans looking not very impressed. I know they are used to over the top service but really there is no need for this person to be so rude and Americans will be precious about it and review accordingly. Just....... Like..... I.... I have mixed feelings about this place! In terms of the food, I couldn't fault it. I had the mozzarella, tomato and basil pesto baguette and it was really tasty, served with a small salad on the side. I then had the lemon meringue pie which is the main reason I went here, I've walked by here so many times and the window display of French patisserie always grabs my attention so I decided today was the day I was going to finally sample the goods. The pie was amazing, exactly what I expected and the perfect size too. In terms of decor, it does have that vintage French feel but it's a bit on the dark side. There's not that much room either so when the people at the table behind me were leaving it was quite a tight fit for them to get out without disturbing the people at the tables beside us. The service, however, was the real drawback for me. I was left standing until I approached a staff member to be seated, I then had to get staff's attention again to order as I was left waiting quite a while without anybody approaching me. Would I go back here? Yes! But I would be more inclined to get a take-away and bring it to Stephen's Green for a picnic instead of sitting in again! read more

I luv the place, I usually go there for a brunch and its quite good. Excellent coffee (try esspresso con panna) and tea. My fav is their soups and tarts, i cant get enough with it. However, i did not like their hot chocalatee at all. Very light and milky!. But overall,The best part of the place is the parisian atmosphere. The only draw back is that its small and usually packed all the time. And If you end up there , which i recommend, you must try their mixed berries tart. read more

2 words....hidden gem! Personally I just love everything small, charming cute and anything that's abit out of the ordinary which is why I probably love this teeny spot so much. Sort of hidden away on Wicklow street I've walked past here so many times. Starving one day my friend brought me in here. It was wedged. Now to be fair its very small inside but we found a little table at the back. The lunch menu isn't massive so I ordered tea and a club the chicken sandwich. For such a cosy spot the sandwich was massive, paired with a dainty china tea pot fit for the queen. It really was delicious. I think it cost just over 10 quid for it. Tasty treat all round.....perfect for a non planned romantic brunch with the fella, perfect for med shopping cuppa with your mum, perfect for anything. I bloody love this little spot and it would've 100% got 5 stars if it had just a little more space - it's SO small! I know that kind of adds to the Parisien theme being cute and delicate however for me trying to sit at a table with 2 other adults, it makes it a tad uncomfortable. That makes it sound like I'm not a fan, which is definitely not the case, I loved this place and visited several times during my 6 months living in Dublin. It was something different and felt very authentic. A usual meal for me here would be a couple of fresh baked croissants and a Flat White coffee. Le Petit Parisien would be a spot I'd always take friends if they were over to visit or if someone asked me to recommend a breakfast spot, because everyone needs a change from a full English (or Irish) breakie at some point! Perfectly roasted coffee and tasty pastries is just a fantastic combination and I'll be back to visit whenever I next hit the Emerald Isle! read more

What I can say about this place? It is SHAMAZING! A little bit pricey for an italian point of view but everything in here is so delicious you can't get over it pretty fast! This was a mixed experience of ups and downs when I went for a quick lunch with my wife. The staff were all very friendly and warm towards the customers but also a little bit disorganised and were forgetting things. My sandwich and coffee was very nice and there's only one toilet in the premises but it's a beautiful room that purrs of Parisian opulence, no wonder people were taking ages in there! We got a pecan pie to take home and it flattered to deceive, they need to visit The Queen of Tarts and see how it's done. Can I pass a patisserie with tartes aux framboises in the window? Non! And so, inevitably I found myself inside Le Petit Parisien. It is indeed on the small side but they make use of every nook and cranny. I was offered a corner table for one which suited me just fine. I had a look around, while perusing the small but perfectly formed menu. The decor is the usual mix of 20's style (faded wall prints and chandeliers). I decided on one of their artisan baguettes (the chicken tikka on baby gem lettuce), and it was a delight. The cappuccino was fine but it's the baguette I'd come back for. They also gave me a complimentary chunk of chocolate biscotti, which literally crumbled to pieces in my mouth, more of that please! read more

Nice cosy patisserie in the heart of Dublin, lovely cakes and pastries and good coffee also. The blueberry pancakes are up there with the best I have tasted anywhere. I would guess it is popular as any time I have been here it can be hard to get a table, and your elbow will be inches from the people at the next table, but it works well in this kind of setting. read more

This place was the absolute unlikeliest of cafés for a busy college student like me to fall in love with - and yet I couldn't resist! Now I am a regular somewhere for the first time in my life. The first time I came here was for lunch with a friend and her parents - we all got different coffees which were without a doubt the most quality we'd had in city centre thus far. Her dad got a sandwich, mum got a pastry, i had the french toast and my roommate had the ham and cheese croissant. We were all extremely pleased, the quality was well worth the price and more and portion sizes were perfect for a light lunch. Service is quick and very polite and friendly, and on the rare occasion they make a mistake they never fail to compensate by giving something for free. Often they bring samples to the table of their daily bakery variety, and almost always have samples at the counter. The ambiance is absolutely perfect - classy and cozy with music that perfectly fits and usually sounds more than vaguely "Paris in the 1940's". If you're looking for cheap and quick this is probably not quite your place, but if you want a really wonderful little café with decent prices and a delightful breakfast/ lunch, or just a really quality beverage, this is the place for you. read more

Popped into this café this afternoon for lunch while walking around town, looking for a quick eat-in place to have a sandwich. Had the Bayonne Ham sandwich with pesto and rocket, and it was very good. My only complaint is that the sandwiches are pre-made, so you can't really change ingredients, and we got in around 2 PM, and half the sandwiches were already sold out! Now, to be fair, they bake all the bread and put the sandwiches together that morning, so they are fresh, but a bummer when you show up and three of the seven sandwiches aren't available :( Great little coffee shop and cafe for a quick lunch bite, and coffee is really nice too - Americano is excellent. read more

My mother always taught me that if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all...but as this is Yelp I feel I can park that for the time being. I will start it out by saying what I enjoyed about this place, the coffee and the pecan tart. I went in yesterday with my boyfriend for lunch, and we were sat immediately. The place is quite small so we were lucky that a big group seemed to just be leaving. We weren't given very much time with the menu before a waitress, who seemed very eager to get our order, was asking us what we would like (I also noticed she was doing this to other tables as well). We asked for a few more minutes and decided on the salmon sandwich (for him) and I ordered the Croque Madame, along with two Americanos. Less than 5 minutes later our coffee came out, followed by my boyfriend's sandwich, so I expected mine to come out soon. After 5 minutes went by, I told him to go ahead and start while I enjoyed my coffee. I don't think this is acceptable to do when people are eating in somewhere. A small delay between plates is acceptable, but 5 minutes is a bit much. Considering that the salmon sandwich comes directly out of their display, this could have been timed better with what I ordered. When I finally did get my Croque Madame, I found it to be just average which was disappointing. I wasn't ready to give up completely on this place though. I've walked past here so many times and marvelled at the delicious looking treats in the window, so I wasn't about to leave without getting something for dessert. Like I said before, I got the pecan tart which was served with cream. That was definitely the highlight of this meal, so ya win some ya lose some I guess. A tiny, tiny place in Wicklow St, next door to Louis Copeland's gentleman's emporium, Le Petit Parisian feels like stepping back in time to a more genteel age, all dark lighting, heavy wallpaper and a patisserie display cabinet which wouldn't be out of place in Paris. I came in for breakfast and was lucky enough to get a seat at a tiny table near the counter. Because the place is so tiny, many people were turned away or chose to wait for one of the 7/8 tiny tables to be freed up. Anyway, I chose the petit (tiny?) dejeuner irlandais which was a posh name for a bacon sarnie with a croissant on the side and a really good latte. Ok, it wasn't really a bacon sarnie as the bread was a really excellent baguette with bacon on the side but became a sarnie in my capable hands. A good start for the day. My only gripe was that, as well as the tiny table, the lighting was so dim that reading my Irish Times was well nigh impossible which might well be the policy given how tiny the place is and their need to turn tables over fast. Quite lovely old school French cafe, with small wood or marble tables and froufrou decor. My favourite is the rustic sandwich which comes with that lovely crusty chewy French country bread. Simple and perfect. It's a bit on the expensive side but I feel I got what I paid for. read more
