Conveniently located right next to the notre dame cathedral. We popped in for lunch and coffee. The staff was really friendly despite our non-French speaking abilities. The lady taking orders was nice enough to help us get our food, which was apparently grab from the case and they can heat it. We got a lox bagel and shepherds pie. We also got a dark chocolate mocha and a framboise matcha latte. We were able to snag a table for 2 after we ordered. Seemed like we came in during a busy time (around 1 pm). They also had a lot of other non food/drink items you could pick up. Like souvenirs etc. The food was fine for being grab and go, it was nice to have it heated. The bagel was toasty and shepherds pie was warm and filling. Dark chocolate mocha was good, the dark chocolate made it unique and wasn't too sweet. The framoise matcha latte was a nice touch. I've had many matcha lattes with strawberry but I really enjoyed the sweet and slight tart of the raspberry cream/foam on top. read more

Gah, this place is adorable. There's some many cute trinkets and decor here, it was hard to concentrate on one thing. Right around the corner from Notre Dame, it is a super convenient location if you're about to wander through Vieux Montreal. You can't miss it with its charming green front and when you walk in it is a shabby chic space. Lone moved quick, pastries looked deletable and cappuccino was perfection. However, the main thing that stuck out was their signs saying people are not allowed to work there. I think it adds to the coziness of the store with having people there who are only there to connect with others or enjoy a treat. read more

The perfect spot for a hot drink and dessert or snack after visiting the Basilica Notre-dame. It grabbed my attention because of its charming decor, color and window outfitting. Since it was a blizzard, it was a warm place of rest and recharge. I got a London fog latte and a slew of pastries. The chocolate chip cookie was my favorite. The strawberry canele a close second. Le Petit Dep is just adorable! We were coming out of the Notre Dame Basilica, thinking to get some coffee and just across we see this cute cafe, and it was like meant to be. Inside, is eclectic, with so much to look at wherever you turn your head to. Plants, art, merchandise and, of course, all the pastries and delicious treats they offer. The line moved quickly, but finding a place to sit is tricky. It's a small seating area, but worth waiting for a table to open up so you can enjoy the ambiance while sipping on their delicious coffees. My latte was perfection, served in a porcelain cup (real tea time), and the chocolate croissant was decadent. Plus that glace on top... just as pictured in French Cookbooks. Located right up the street from my hotel and a few steps away from the Place D'Arms is a nice hidden gem of a cafe. As you walk in you can feel a bit of a nostalgic atmosphere from the local products to the decorations and greenery that blends all together. The staff was friendly and very focused to make sure your order is the way you prefer. I enjoyed the buttery croissant and an iced Jasmine tea. I also bought some sliced strawberries. This place is absolutely GORGEOUS. I was walking to the Notre-Dame Basilica and had to stop when I saw the beautiful plant-covered store exterior. The interior is even more charming, with colorful Tiffany lamps, gold mirrors, and vintage decorations. You'll find not only a café, but also a little market for snacks and gifts ("le petit dép" is short for "le petit dépanneur," which are basically little convenience stores). The café prices are pretty reasonable - I paid 6 CAD (4.5 USD) for a matcha latte with alternative milk. It's the store/market area that can be expensive - most prices are clearly marked, but I picked up some dried Italian breadsticks that ended up being 10 CAD (7.5 USD) when I thought they'd be half the price. In any case, the café is still super lovely, and is a perfect spot for coffee or lunch. This location is also much cuter than the other location further into the old town. read more

Came here while on vacation, the hours online are posted as 8am to 6pm we arrived at 8:50 and they weren't open. There were people inside so we were trying to get their attention to ask when they would be open and the barista behind the counter just ignored us. When they did open at 9am they were instantly packed. We ordered a chocolate croissant and an almond croissant, a lox bagel and a toasted sesame bagel, a dirty chai and an iced mocha. The pastries were good and my dirty chai was pretty good. However, the lox bagel is pre made you grab it from a fridge (which I didn't realize when I ordered it) it was very mushy and dry. The iced mocha was not good. Overall, I don't think I'd return. read more

I love this little dep, a cozy ambiance with all the goodies. They have vegan sweets and vegan milk options. I ordered the golden milk with oat milk and had the vegan brownie. It is cute indeed, but after stating the meal was "for here", our coffee and tea were poured in paper cups instead of real porcelain ones. Our croissant, bagel and sandwich were all put in paper bags, not plates. Really? Do you run out of both of cups and plates?
