I would love to know where they get the decor for this place. I'd imagine a lot of flea markets (fabulous ones)? It's hard to pick my favorite decor item because there are so many, but it's somewhere between the chairs shaped like hands and the giant silver octopus tentacle under the T.V. Ooo and the corner with all the clowns! Drinks are strong and cheap. The bartenders are friendly. There's a patio, but it's a bit small. There are plenty of comfy chairs/couches. They have live music pretty often, so if that's your thing, you'll be happy there on weekend nights. The only thing is the space is kind of small for live music, so it can get really loud. This is an excellent chill option if you're in Hallowell and want to skip bars that tend to get a bit fratty like The Quarry Taproom. Highly recommend!

Friends of ours wanted to play some pool after we had dinner nearby at Lucky Garden, so we did exactly that. It was a slow night and no one was waiting for the table, so we played about 4 or 5 games and had a lovely time. The decor is awesome, the bar is clean, and the staff were friendly. I've always had a good time here, and I enjoy the artwork too!

The food was fantastic and the staff was very friendly and made us feel like old friends. I would highly recommend checking this place out next time you head up to the slopes at Sunday River. I went there with a group of 4 of us and every dish was excellent and reasonably priced. I ordered a Caesar Salad and the Brick Chicken. The salad was very well prepared and had a very light Caesar dressing that picked up the flavor from the lemon garnish and bite-sized garlic toast croutons. The Brick Chicken was a perfectly prepared and succulent piece of chicken with crispy skin that was served on a bed of rice with lime and orange garnishes. The other dish I tasted was the Vegetable en croute, which was an eastern European style vegetable dish with a phyllo dough crust. This dish was good, but not great. I would go with the brick chicken if you are deciding between the two options. However, you won't be going wrong with either choice. My other friends ordered the Pork Osso Bucco and the Steak frites and had great things to say about both of these dishes as well. If you are looking for a more upbeat ambiance you can find that downstairs in the suds pub. This place looked really fun and has live music. It also worth noting that you can order the pub food in the bistro as well if you are looking for that type of fare in a mellower ambiance. We also ate at the Black Diamond Steakhouse while we were in town. Everyone agreed that Bistro 151 is a superior restaurant all around from a both a service and food perspective.

We understand that it was a busy night, but the hostess was a bit rude and we still had to wait 20 minutes even with a reservation. We don't mind waiting, but there wasn't a designated place to wait and ended up awkwardly standing in front of the bathrooms until we were seated. The waitress was nice but seemed confused about the specials and non-alcoholic drink options. The service was fine otherwise, and our food didn't take too long. The food is ultimately what prompted us to give this one-star review. For the prices that we paid, which were on average $30/plate, we found that it was severely lacking. The rice was sticky and undercooked in some parts. The food was under seasoned and did not match the descriptions on the menu. The "seasonal vegetables" were red peppers and broccoli. It was not bad, it just did not match the quality that we were expecting. Overall, we found this experience to be lacking and wished that we could have gotten more from this restaurant.

I got the crab Parmesan truffle carbonara (need I say more) and my husband got the lamb shank over risotto. Both were 12/10. Then for dessert (even though we were so full from the meal) we got the flourless chocolate cake and the CRÈME BRÛLÉE FILLED DONUT. Yes you read that right. Skip the chocolate cake and just get a dozen of the donuts. Krispy cream could NEVERRRR. I'm literally waddling out of here with the biggest smile on my face. Anyone in previous reviews that was complaining about price doesn't understand value. It was worth every freaking penny.
