Came here for dinner at 7PM on a Thursday after reading very high reviews on Google. We walked in without any reservation and were able to get a seat outside within a few minutes. This is a very cute establishment that seems to be very popular amongst the locals since my boyfriend and I were the only tourists there (which we took as a very good sign). Our waitress was very kind and patient with our pretty basic French, and got our orders pretty quickly. We got a small pitcher of red wine that came out to be about 2 glasses per person and was very good. For food we ordered:
Oeufs Mayo: very nice appetizer of two hard boiled eggs with some delicious silky and creamy mayo on top which perfectly complements the egg. Came with a little salad of greens and this sweet and umami dressing. Would recommend as an appetizer to split.
Crudités: really refreshing platter of cucumbers, carrots, tomatoes, beets, green beans, and lettuce with a little bit of the same sweet/kind of umami dressing from above. We missed raw vegetables and wanted something crunchy so opted for this and it was a wonderful decision.
Entrecôte with frites: my boyfriend ordered this and he really enjoyed it. The fries were very well cooked, crispy on the outside while still being soft on the inside, perfectly salted and not oily. The entrecôte was very generously sized, it was a little overdone but the flavor was really nice. Came with a nice creamy mustard sauce that went really well with the whole dish. The price for this giant steak with fries was around 22 euros which is an amazing deal!
Fish fillet with zucchini gratin: one of the daily specials! Came with a thin and flaky grilled fillet of a white fish topped with a little bit of pesto, and a really nice crispy skin. The side was zucchini gratin which consisted of thin slices of zucchini and a thick, creamy cheese sauce. I used some of the table bread to eat with the gratin and it was beautiful. Also a really good price for the portion size. Was around 17 euros.
Chocolate mousse: super creamy and delicious! Perfect amount of sweetness. Came very cool and felt like eating a refreshing cloud of rich, fluffy chocolate. Would recommend.
Probably one of my favorite places that I have found during this trip. It is in a less touristy area so it has more of a community feel (regulars were making conversation with the workers, customers would recognize each other and say hello, mostly everyone is French speaking, etc) plus the prices are really some of the lowest I've seen for the amount/quality of food you get. Everything was delicious. Will definitely mark this place as somewhere to come back whenever I am back in Paris. read more
