These teas were our first boba drinks outside the U.S. and hit the spot after a long day of sightseeing! We ordered right away, and the cashier helped us customize our drinks to the right sweetness and ice. We ordered the passion fruit green tea, which had a nice floral flavor, and lychee black tea, which was tea forward -- both were ordered at 50% sweet. The boba doesn't have a strong brown sugar flavor but we had good consistency. And we really loved the opportunity to sit for a few minutes at their tables to recharge. This may be the best boba joint in all of Paris so make your way here immediately to drink their wonderful concoctions! They have only a few tables inside so you may need to get lucky for a seat if you're looking to chill inside with a table. Their products are the real deal and don't seem gimmicky at all. The menu will make you want to order every drink. Guess you'll just have to come back another day because there's a French law you can't drink more than 1 boba per day. We wanted to try boba before leaving Paris and saw many positive reviews written for The Alley. Since the weather was cold, we ordered the hot matcha brown sugar deerioca milk drink. This review is based on a hot beverage, so take it with a grain of salt. The service was quick, but the drink was just average. The actual boba was chewy and was consistent. In my opinion, the drink had too much sugar. Based on the overall ratings, their cold beverage offerings are probably stellar. I think the bar for hot boba has been set by Teado in NYC. read more

One would hope for The Alley to expand even more from its current foot print say to perhaps San Francisco? I visited the Paris outpost and while the line was long and the shop small; it didn't hinder my desire for boba. I ordered their signature Deerioca brown sugar fresh milk; the boba was perfectly sweet and chewy, brown sugar syrup enveloped the cup, and topped with fresh milk. It's a simple drink but well worth the wait. My only complaint would be that while you're given a pager to notify you when your drink is ready, the staff weren't too diligent on my visit to notify their patrons immediately. Aside from that, I think The Alley will do very well, just expand further please. read more

I was so excited to see this place in Paris! It was like a little taste of being back in California. I got the kiwi slush, and it was pretty disappointing. There were so many big ice chunks in my drink because it wasn't blended well. And the kiwi flavor was pretty weak. On top of that, the straws suck! They are just paper straws. In California, there are a lot more options for eco friendly straws. Why can't they use bamboo straws?? At least the straw wouldn't disintegrate after having 1/4 of your drink. read more

This is a great spot for boba. I loved that they had an option for real milk rather than the vegan type. My creme brulee deerioca hit the spot for dessert. They had a nice cafe vibe, so it's a good place to go and sit around and chat, unlike some of the smaller places. I also loved that they used modern buzzers to get your order. Very efficient! The shop is small and it was packed when I arrived in the late afternoon. Line moved fast, however, and I soon ordered one of their signature drinks, the Royal No.9 milk tea. Down to their cups, logo, menu, I really liked the look and feel of this boba shop. I ordered the #1 and my husband the #4. Both drinks cold and very delicious. My husband finished his milk tea in literally thirty seconds. The boba was deliciously sweet and perfectly satisfied my craving. Each cup was about 5€. Solid boba place in Paris. I've gotten the Brown Sugar tea with boba and it was similar to a frosted milk tea back in the States. It's a rather small place so I wouldn't recommend coming with a large group if you have the intention of sitting down together. Ran into this place by chance and decided to stop by. It was grand opening day and their specialty drinks were not ready to be ordered. Tried a very simple white peach oolong tea with boba and it was decent-- really the same as any other white peach oolong tea's I've gotten in the states. Boba was sweet and chewy (right texture) hence the 4 stars. Minus 1 star for not even having their full menu during grand opening (if everything is not ready, it should be a soft opening...). If in Paris and craving boba, I would come back again. One thing I've noticed is that boba in Paris is expensive and the cups are not very big. read more
