Matcha Deerioca Brown Sugar Milk

I first had The Alley here in Paris, France back in 2018. I got the Matcha Deerioca Milk and it was amazing! Since I got back to the US, I have been frequenting The Alley in Irvine. When I go back to visit Paris, I'll def come back here!

Brown sugar bubble tea and matcha brown sugar bubble tea in the small size

The alley does not disappoint. I had my first taste in California and discovered there was a shop in Paris, so of course I had to stop by. The brown sugar is always a classic and my other go-to is the white peach oolong but I decided to switch things up and order the matcha brown sugar this time around. Was not disappointed. The alley has always been and will always be one of my favorite boba shops! Come for the aesthetic but stay for the heaven in a cup.

Royal No.9 milk tea with boba.

Being a self-prescribed boba snob, I hadn't really found a boba shop that I really liked in Paris, until I was recommended The Alley by someone. The shop is small and it was packed when I arrived in the late afternoon. Line moved fast, however, and I soon ordered one of their signature drinks, the Royal No.9 milk tea. I ordered it cold, no ice and 50% sugar with boba. Overall, pretty good, probably the best boba milk tea I've had in Paris. Definitely worth a go if you're craving boba!

Ordered original milk tea with pearls. Flavor is okay, not as strong as I'd like it to be (not like Coco or other chains in Asia), but still a decent flavor. The pearls were a little undercooked for me. Overall, I quite enjoyed the bubble tea. It's a solid, albeit pricey option in Paris.

After moving to Paris a few weeks ago, I hadn't had any boba until a friend told me about this magical place! The presentation is very good. Down to their cups, logo, menu, I really liked the look and feel of this boba shop. I ordered the #1 and my husband the #4. Both drinks cold and very delicious. My husband finished his milk tea in literally thirty seconds. The boba was deliciously sweet and perfectly satisfied my craving. Each cup was about 5€. Pricier than I'm used to but expected when in Paris. Staff was friendly and could speak English. Would come back here again!

As we finished dinner, we ran into this little boba place that just opened. It's a really cute little place. I ordered the Royal No9 milk tea. I would say this is interesting. I saw a lot of people getting the brown sugar fresh milk. It looked really interesting too. The cover for their boba is paper. I guess that's how they try to save the environment. If I was a local, I would come hang out here all the times.

Ran into this place by chance and decided to stop by. It was grand opening day and their specialty drinks were not ready to be ordered. Tried a very simple white peach oolong tea with boba and it was decent-- really the same as any other white peach oolong tea's I've gotten in the states. Boba was sweet and chewy (right texture) hence the 4 stars. Minus 1 star for not even having their full menu during grand opening (if everything is not ready, it should be a soft opening...). If in Paris and craving boba, I would come back again. One thing I've noticed is that boba in Paris is expensive and the cups are not very big.

Typical offerings of an Alley. Customizable temperature and sugar levels. Expect a wait, quite popular.

I write this to you, my dear reader, back at my desk at this soul crushing 9-5 job hoping,…read moredreaming, wishing of having one last Motors Coffee run on our Paris trip. It was head and shoulders our favorite coffee shop in the City of Light, and we lowkey made our rounds. It's a small shop, but filled to the brim with life and passion. I'm normally not a pastry guy, but if I lived anywhere near Motors I would absolutely be a pastry guy. The cinnamon roll was light and delicate, as opposed to the overly sweet and dense ones I'm used to. We also got a vanilla pastry they were testing, and a sugar cookie with milk chocolate drizzled on top. Ugh, take me back, inject these into my veins. I got my goto hot black coffee, and you could taste the freshness of the beans. My girlfriend got a latte that had the most beautiful little flower art on it. How do they even do that? I'm proud of myself, as I knew even when we were sitting in here enjoying our pastries, hot coffees, and each other's company that this was a moment I would look back on and cherish. It's always great knowing it's one of those moments when you're actually in it. You can fully appreciate it. My one regret is that I didn't get the ladies name serving us, as she was so sweet, recommended great pastries, and was just a pleasant human being. They don't make em like sis anymore... The caffeine was much needed since we were going to be at the Louvre for a couple of hours. I started off with an Expresso Martini which was very good and yes this is how it is spelled here and I like that because that is how I always pronounce it. With our drinks our waiter even brought us out fresh olives. Now I'm not the biggest fan but Ashley very much enjoyed it. There was a lot on the menu that I was interested in and they had a number of different cuts of beef but I had to go with the Whole Duck Breast which is also a French classic which I got cooked medium rare but I'm perfect sure that's how they suggest it which is the right way like they do with all their beef too. Ashley and I also split the French Onion Soup. I will say by Duck was very good. Tasty rich sauce with crispy duck skin cooked perfectly. Some of the best duck I have had in awhile. I will say the French Onion Soup though was a little bland. I just didn't have that rich beef broth I am used too. Beside that everything was very good and would for sure recommend going to Café Blanc for a nice menu which amazing French options.

We spoke to a lady who was American but moved to Paris years ago. She recommended the chocolate hazelnut which changed her life. So us fat kids sampled the 6 flavors which the girl brought us inside the business to give us the samples. I then told her large she gave me extra large with 5 scoops. We got lemon ice, coffee gelato, chocolate chip, chocolate hazelnut and the chocolate fondue. Everything was delicious. But I think we were gelatoed out and the lemon ice was amazing ! Everything was good but the lemon stood out. It was just more refreshing as we walked Disney Paris all day then walked from metro to the stores. Then we met the store owner who was really sweet and we chatted for a bit and then said hey do you want something to go? I said no it's ok and then she said here have more lemon ice. My wife and I destroyed that as well. She was so sweet. She said it doesn't make you fat since it's just water and sugar and fresh lemon. I said yeah it will lol. I'd come back.
