Nice Alsatian restaurant where you can try a wide variety of local dishes that blend the cultures of the region into delicious food. It so happens that most of what we ordered came with a lot of cheese and cream sauces, so everything was very hearty and filling. The interior is cozy and felt a bit Bavarian. Service was attentive enough to keep everyone happy.

Service was great. Food was so good. We loved the coziness of the seating because we got to speak to our table neighbors.

We came to this restaurant for a traditional Strasbourg style dinner. The restaurant was very nicely decorated, and had nice outdoor seating as well. Service was pretty good. The food was nothing too special, but the overall ambiance and experience of the restaurant made the trip worth it.

Food and service were bad. French onion soup was extremely oily, no cheese and tasted odd. Server was eating bread while waiting on a table and kept checking his phone on the floor. This is probably my fault, but I asked for some water (I should've maybe clarified for tap) and was given a bottle for $8. Seemed a bit high regardless and was never asked if I wanted tap. The cheese plate was okay , not worth a try honestly.

Tres Bien!!! Tarte flambée with goat cheese, honey, and bacon, incredible Pinot gris, and homemade Black Forest cake. Our waitress was perfectly helpful and maybe the coolest person ever. If I could live in Strasbourg, I would be a regular. Located on the most beautiful street near the cathedral, it was very quiet on a Monday evening.

A morning spent here by the cathedral and a boat ride left us needing some lunch. Our guide has been telling us about the Tartes Flambèes. We really enjoyed stopping here. The quaintness of the restaurant got us inside and the food made for a great meal. We split the French onion soup and a mushroom, bacon, ham Tartes Flambèe. It was just the right amount for lunch when paired with a bottle of wine.

This is located very close to church. As I was walking away from the church, I saw this restaurant (patio seating in front entrance), and we just decided to dine at here. So beautiful. Since no one assisted is with seating, we just sitted ourselves in one of the tables in front of the restaurant. We have seated for more than 15 minutes but no one came to service us. So I had to walk inside and grab the menu by myself. While looking through the menu, finally server came to us and took the order. We had no problem order since server know English and menu had English descriptions as well. Food was OK but I can't say it was best tasting. I don't think I would try this restaurant again but the ambiance is just perfect.

FANTASTIC! Authentic Alsacienne meals. Warm and fun atmosphere. I loved the ambience and highly recommend this restaurant. Its close to the xmas market and we walked the quaint streets of Strasbourg to find this gem. You wont be disappointed.

Duck, steak, and the infamous "we're from the U.S.!" dish. Highly recommend the duck!

We went in on a Saturday afternoon during their prime hours, so I expected it to be a bit busy. After waiting only 3 minutes to be brought to a table (on the third floor), I expected to be waited on in a timely manner as well. I ordered our drinks but our waiter failed to bring the third drink until I asked again for the fourth time. Other customers came after us and they still got their food 10 minutes before we did. (We weren't the only Americans so there's that...) When the food did arrive, my duck filet was cooked perfectly and it had the most outstanding amount of fat on it. Vegetables actually tasted like vegetables and not some previously-frozen-out-of-the-bag crap. Tl;dr: food was great, they even had a kids menu American kids would enjoy, but the wait staff was barely decent.

I had a nice meal here, including the choucroute (with fish). It had a nice atmosphere and the service was friendly and tolerant of my broken French.

And when your walking tour guide tells you a fun story about a Michelin-starred restaurant and it's interesting name, you decide to take yourself there. I haven't been to a Michelin-starred restaurant in a very long time and I have never been to one alone, but it was still a lovely experience. The staff was very attentive, kind, and knowledgeable. The food was inventive and enjoyable, though I admit I had a hard time understanding the waitstaff sometimes, so I wasn't always sure what I was eating, but luckily I'm willing to eat anything. I had the discovery menu (appetizer, fish, entree, dessert), 3-course wine pairing, coffee, and the restaurant's "extras" which included some very tasty amuse bouche at the beginning, small desserts with the coffee, and even a cookie to take a home. I did not order from the cheese cart, but it was fun to watch it wheeled out for others. For a Michelin restaurant, I found it very reasonably priced and accessible, though I'm not sure I can say I was completely blown away by the food (wine was fantastic, though). But I did see the crocodile! Which is where the restaurant gets it's name: in the 1800s a sailor came back from Egypt with a stuffed crocodile and had the bright idea to use it as a marketing (who wouldn't want to see a stuffed crocodile?!?)

Such a beautiful restaurant! Amazingly friendly service! And of course delicious food!…read more We were in town for the Christmas market, so it was fun to take a break from being outside and eating mostly from food vendors. We came in for lunch and went with the market menu they were offering. We also ended up adding a cheese course, because when in France! Can't say no to cheese! I don't know if it's the primacy effect, but I loved the first course. It was like a little egg soup dish. So warm and hearty, it was just comforting. Everything else was good too, but the cheese was a major highlight for me. The waiter selected a sampling of cheeses for us from a huge cheese cart. It was fun to watch and see all the cheeses on display.
