After living on this street for a year, with the ever-present, life-sized llamas as local landmarks for both myself and visiting guests, I finally took the opportunity to eat at the Green Cafe. I'm not sure what surprised me more- how much Spanish I remembered after living in Geneva for a year (be warned - they speak zero English here though they do have one menu in English) or how decent the food was. As the restaurant has plenty of seating, we did not have to wait for a table even on a busy summer day. From the pisco sours to the ceviche, the food and drinks were on point, with good sized portions. The octopus I ordered (and I'll admit that is not usually the wisest choice, living in a landlocked country) was tender and the good, with quite a bit of heat. My dining partners dishes were even better! Although I personally prefer the Japanese Peruvian food I've tried, The Green Cafe is not a bad option if you're craving something different. Just be aware (as elsewhere in Geneva) that the meal comes with a large price tag! read more
