Maybe the best value for a café, tea room place in the whole Geneva. With a decor à la Marie-Antoinette with ribbons, nice draperies, an old carrousel car in the front window, this place serves all things chocolate, tarts, pies, in bite sizes. Casual, you pick a plate and try to choose something out of the whole tasty display. You usually end up crowding up your plate. For my first time at Chez Gautier, a gem right off Geneva railstation, my friend Stephanie, a regular, recommended the home made soup. Ordered a zucchinis and leek soup that came with bread bites. Nice, natural and tasty soup that wasn't too salty, nor too rich. I paired mine up with a nuts bun sandwich with gruyère and the Swiss dried beef, a thinner, tastier and healthier version of the US beef jerky.
We both went for a sweet touch with a nut scone that turned out to be a little more of a biscotti and I had the meringue tangerine tart. Delicious!
I would highly recommend Chez Quartier, a gem in the heart of Geneva where the service is nice and polite, you get tasty food for fair prices. read more
