I stumbled upon Aux Merveilleux de Fred Sunday morning after strolling around Rue Cler. Perfect…read morelittle treats. The store is gorgeous and will immediately catch your eye, I knew I had to come see what was going on in here. I crossed over and walked in to find the most delightful le merveilleux. I ordered 3 minis which I trekked all over town for the day and later enjoyed for in the evening. They were delish! My advice would be don't trek all over town with them, enjoy them or store them to enjoy later. They were great but they are fairly delicate. These treats are super light and the perfect little treats. The mini size is perfect to enjoy several flavors. I'm a Los Angeles native and while many may say they haven't seen or heard of these le merveilleux before, we have a little French bakery at home called Le Mervetty that I've ordered cakes from and they make these. They are truly special, I've always felt that. If you're looking for a lovely treat, definitely stop in. Service was quick and friendly!

A must try when in Paris! But make sure you consume the meringue right away as I made the mistake…read moreof leaving this in the hot car while going around the sights in Paris. I got the sampler of 6 merengues in a cute box but I only got to try 3 as I shared the rest with our house host. My fave was the Magnifique - meringue coated in pralines. So light and airy as with the rest. The Merveilleux - chocolate was a bit too sweet for my taste what with the layers n layers of chocolate. I am not a fan of white chocolate so I did not like the Incroyable - white chocolate with speculoos. The shop have different branches in Paris as well as the train stations but we went to the one by the Moulin Rouge. It is right smack in the center of the street you wouldn't miss it with its very opulent chandelier hanging by the window. They make and bake their pastries on site as with each and every patisserie in Paris it seems. So everything is freshly baked!

THE FOOD ------------------…read more+ THEEEEEE gold standard for macarons in Paris ... or anywhere for that matter. + Macarons here are a little crisp, a little pillowy softness and a whollllllle bunch of flavor. - It cost a pretty penny (about 3 Euros for 1 piece), but you won't regret it for a second when you bite into one of these addictively delicious treats. THE SERVICE ----------------------- + All class, top notch white glove service - literally - they handle the macarons with much care like it were gold! THE SURROUNDINGS ------------------------------------ + Located in the heart of the Champs-Élysées on Rue Lincoln, so, YES, it is busy like rush hour outside ... and inside. + There are 2 sides to this massive flagship location - you can either make a purchase of macarons at their store OR dine/sit down in their tea house. Both have lines to wait on, but making a purchase only takes about 10 minutes on a weekend, while dining in looks like an unimaginable wait! + The store to make a macaron purchase at has 3 tables to sit around to enjoy your purchase of delicious macarons. You MUST catch someone about to leave (like we did) in order to snag a table. RANDOM OBSERVATIONS ------------------------------------------- = Expect waits on a weekend afternoon, especially to sit down in the tea room. If you just make a store purchase, it's only about a 10 minute wait ... and you'll be thanking your legs for that. = It's a tourist destination in itself, so expect LOTS of people taking photos of this location. CONCLUSION ----------------------- = Yes, I'm from the tri-state area and they've had a Laduree in NYC since 2011, but there's alwayyyyys something special about going to one of the originals and this spot is no different.

We kept seeing people walking around with baguettes but couldn't seem to find where they were…read morecoming from until we finally found this place walking around the area of the Eiffel Tower. We walked in and they were busy because their card machine was down. We looked over the pastry options and then their system came back up. We ordered a baguette, a croissant and a small box of macaroons. Both the croissant and the baguette were amazing. The macaroons were stale and gross. I was surprised but then I saw the same ones at the airport and realized it a third party. They must have been sitting there for a while. Sad because I really was expecting great macaroons in Paris. Otherwise, I would get a baguette again any day!

I would recommend this place! I tried their croque monsieur…read moreand Ube latte and was not disappointed. The croque monsieur had a generous pile of gruyère melted on the sides of the bread with a proportional amount of meat and filling on the inside. With the croque monsieur warmed up, it made a perfect brunch meal with the ube latte. The ube latte is exactly what you would expect but crafted carefully. I would just go back for this delightfully warm concoction in the morning. The service to go along with this made this experience more pleasant as it seems most of the employees were filipinos. They were quick to receive you and leave you beyond satisfied. The shop exudes the classic parisian aesthetic that most people would romanticize and I am glad I experienced it. I would come back for the pleasant experience - try out Merci Jérôme!
