And it turned out to be a very good thing, but I will share why later on. First the food: we started out with Cicchettis that Chicca helped me pick out from the front counter. The Prosecco that I had with them paired so nicely. My husband ordered the Tagliatelle alla Busara di Scampi, I got the Linguine alla Scoguera (seafood: mussels, clams, scallops). Simply amazing - wow For dessert hubby had the Ameretto Custard and I had the Panna Cotta. In heaven!!! Now on to the sharing the table but, Chicca said she was bringing us some new friends and another couple joined us. They happened to be from Japan... I grew up in Japan and I ended up translating Japanese to English to help them place their order with Chicca. And then we just started chatting and by the end of the evening we were exchanging email addresses. Friendship born. Thanks Chicca.

I ended up just paying for it because I had 4 men yelling and screaming at me. absolutely horrifying. ------------- TERRIBILE!!!! Assolutamente orribile.

Service is fantastic, wine recommendation paired very well after we ordered our meal and service was friendly. We went may 19,2023. Dishes are seasonal and based on available fresh ingredients. We chose this restaurant walking by and looked at the menu displayed outside. No photos on the menu so it's not a tourist trap! You start with a complimentary aperitif of local cuttlefish and a puff. Both very light and refreshing even on a rainy damp day. Appeetizer we picked the egg yolk with asparagus and chicken giblets with brioche. I don't remember the name of it. But it was lovely. Rich and yolky, but not runny and drippy. The chicken giblets were perfectly cooked and paired very well with the scoop of the sauce and yolk. The homemade taglioni with black truffle pasta is worth the 30 minute walk from the train station. My friend and I split the dish and they were so kind to bring 2 plates with half portions! The pasta is so flavorful with the clean and dreamy butter sauce that perfectly complement the oo's and ahh's of the black truffle shaved tableside. I want that flavor to linger for days! The octopus with yellow foie mousse hit the spot as well. Octopus was tender, and then tentacles grilled i think to give it a second texture. Either way, it was delicious. I heard the other table get dessert and was able to ask about the dessert called "idea of tiramisu 2.0" It gets served tableside with espresso freshly poured onto the pastry and it floofs right in front of you. fresh cold mascarpone cheese gets placed on and you need a little bit of everything on the spoon for the perfect bite.

The one thing that really shocked me that in Italy and France, there is not such a thing as a bad wine! I couldn't believe it, everywhere we had wine, was excellent in taste. We tried different dishes, the cheeses, the wines, all was best of the best. The Staff here were AMAZING, so so nice! Italians in Italy I have to say, are some of the best and sweetest people. We had conversations with the Staff, as if we knew each other forever, is so genuine and family like vibe. They also explained and showed us which boat, train, which train station to take to travel to Florence and which area was the best to stay in Florence. Venice had a wide variety of restaurants, like the ones by the water as well but Vino Vino was absolutely our top choice. We always had the table outdoor in the backyard. Specially at night is has the best romantic loving vibe. My brother had taken me to some of the best places in NYC, and I can say gladly that I out did him by taking him to the best restaurant in Venice, jajaja. Healthy competition. I always do it better. :)

We picked Le Café because it was full of people and busy which always a good indicator of at least passable food. We sat outside, but did go inside to wash hands after numerous surface touches on water taxi's public transit during our morning explorations. The bathroom area had sinks outside of the bank's themselves and were clean and well stocked. The service was a little slow, but once we ordered, the food showed up quickly. My clubhouse with ham, egg, tomato, rocket and cheese was very good and plentiful. The lovely K had the ballerina salad which looked and tasted great. My Sister and her husband travelling with us this trip, both had burgers and fries (?). My Sister asked for it to be well done, and when it arrived it was quite rare, but she soldiered through it as it was past 2 PM and our first food of the day. When the plates were picked up and the bill dropped our waiter said he noticed how rare it was when taking the plate away and had removed the burger from our bill. He also asked that we come back again and ask for him so he could provide us with a proper meal. I've not seen that in Italy before, it was very observant of him, and the right thing to do. Kudos to him, I wish I had got his name.
