Outdoor seating

Cute little cafe on the Saint Stefano square. It is one of several choices on this square. Good service despite typically the more busy cafe. Nice breakfast place also including "English Breakfast" options. I had two eggs, a baguette with ham and veggies, and a fruit plate. Of course, a morning cappuccino rounded it out. All was very tasty. I returned for a croissant and Americano with milk. Also fresh and hit the spot. Service was great with both visits. They have wifi and don't charge a cover (coperto) to sit. Oh, location is great as this is on the path from Rialto Bridge and St Mark's Square. It is also steps from Accademia Bridge. Great place to take a respite. Give them a try

Amazing lasagna and fish with bruschetta. The Mediterranean style fish fish was delicious

We enjoyed the excellent service and food. The Mediterranean style fish was excellent and my husband enjoyed his lasagna. Would recommend for a great meal

The finest Spaghetti Carbonara I ever have had

I had such a lovely experience At Le Cafe that I wen twice in 24 hours! My waiter John was outstanding, we ha sat out for expresso on a rainy afternoon and it was cold....John gave me a blanket to warm up....who does that? The expresso and cappuccino were wonderful as I would expect in Venice...biscotti included. The next day we were planning on having coffee and some pastries for breakfast at 10am, again John took great care....we didn't go for the pastries instead we noticed a couple having pasta and it looked outstanding so we went for it and I am so glad we did! By far the most amazing carbonara I have or will ever have. If in the area check out the lovely cafe with indoor and outdoor seating. Ciao!

first thing we were told is not to have drinks at the cafeteria by the Plaza because they are crowded and expensive, however how can you deny yourself from these views, and honestly the price difference is marginal, even though Venice was busy and so was the cafeteria the service was prompt and I would definitely stop here again,

My wife and I first visited Le Cafe one cold March morning back 2011 and we feel in love with it. It was so cold we dined in doors every day eating a different Crepe every morning for a week. The menu is full of delicious crepes that are the best in the world! This year, we visited Venice during April and a beautiful sunny day for lunch. The sun was our and the sky was blue, and Le Cafe was packed with diners but still did not miss a beat. Fantastic meals and friendly service is what makes Le Cafe so popular to so many locals and tourist alike.

Great cafe in Campo Santo Stefano (square). Large square to people watch. We sat on the patio and only had vino. The waiters were nice and attentive.

My husband and I came to Le Cafe for some brunch while walking exploring the area. The food was good and the coffee was great. I definitely enjoyed relaxing listening to the sound of the music playing in the courtyard and watching everyone in the Campo Santo Stefano.

Risotto with Radicchio & Speck (DO NOT GET, UNDERCOOKED RICE SITTING IN POOL OF WATER)

AVOID. We were lucky to have a beautiful day and wanted to sit outside so we chose this restaurant strictly due to the outdoor venue. Positives: -Outdoor seating. -Great Chianti 1/2 bottle. Negatives: -Smoking at 1/2 the tables so no escaping it. -Food was bad and it came out way too quick! Like 5 minutes tops! -Risotto came out in 5 min which is always a bad sign. It was extremely undercooked, the rice was crunchy and sat in a bowl of water. I'm not kidding. -Spaghetti with bolognese tasted like box spaghetti but I liked the meat sauce it was just way too greasy. There was an orange film that coated the entire bottom of the bowl. -Skimpy and pricey on the spritz Aperol and took awhile to get to the table. -Service was just ok. -€47 for lunch, no thanks.

Tomatoes and mozzarella sammy!

Sam! No frills cafe. Ideal spot to puck up your morning caffeine and snack to get you going for the day. I had the fresh squeezed orange juice and a tomato and mozzarella sandwich. The sammy was great, sweet tomatoes and creamy cheese goodness with tart fresh juice complamenting it perfectly! I may come back here tommorow to try the crab and egg sammy. It looked good but I wasnt feeling adventurous this morning :)

The chicken was cold and dry. The pizza tasted like little ceasars pizza. The servers are not personable. And the pigeons are everywhere.

Quaint location off the beaten path for a sophisticated meal in a relaxing atmosphere. Service is impersonal and non-friendly, but is fast and efficient. The pasta is good , however the portions are small and overpriced. Come here for the atmosphere, but not for the value.

Seafood pasta
Sam L.

Tourist trap? Maybe, but it highly depends on what you order. For example, I'd definitely recommend cuttlefish ink pasta and seafood pasta but not their pizza. The service was average but I do appreciate a good size menu with allergy information clearly posted. Their portion size is a bit small. The outdoor seating is a plus, though their advertised free wifi is unusable. Don't let other horrific reviews deter you from coming here, just come for a snack and people watch, not as an official lunch/dinner spot.

Not sure why this restaurant does not have a higher rating! Our service was wonderful and our food & drinks were very good. Atmosphere was 5 Star. My pasta was rich with flavor and so was my daughters. We enjoyed impeccable service.

15 Euro salad to go with no dressing and painfully dry chicken.

Over-priced and rude. Plus the drinks were wayyyy too skimpy. But try it for yourself! You may have a different experience.

Food was amazing and very filling. The portions are large specifically on the steak/protein…read moreoptions. Our table ordered two different steak boards. The tomahawk and flank steak. Both were served with a a mound of fresh cut potatoes, grilled vegetables and two sauces to dip into. We barely used the dips as everything was seasoned to perfection. No steak sauce needed as the steak was well seasoned and served hot. We also have a bottle of white wine and tried the lasagna for our starter. Everyone at the table was happy with this option for dinner. Also this is not fancy dinner but still dining at its fines. If you are a steak lover and in the Venice area Al Timon is a must have for dinner.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! Definitely get the Lombatello steak if you are feeling carnivorous…read more Throngs of lively people sipping wine and snacking on cichetti late into the evening along the canal. The cichetti selection looked very good (variety thinned out throughout the night), but our party of 3 was starving and we opted to sit inside for a late ~8:30pm dinner. We got one order of grilled lamb and the Lombatello steak for 2. The lamb was also good, no gamey taste. The Lombatello steak was simply fantastic, choose this cut specifically!! A heaping pile of medium-rare meat (cannot buy single portions) that was very tender and flavorful. It's cushioned with steak fries and grilled veggies on the side. Paired with two glasses of house wine, this meal was fantastic. Ended up with a to go box of steak and fries. Servers are very busy, bustling around clearing tables, taking orders, etc, but they are vigilant if you need anything. We saw one table of ~10 order a steak platter, and it was a sight to behold - a massive wooden cutting board packed with steak, transported by two waiters.
