Review Highlights - Le Cherche Midi

“It's in a perfect location whether you are sight seeing or shopping (then again I suppose most of Paris would qualify for that), but this place is quite special.”

Wow what an amazing Italian restaurant in PARIS. We were walking around to see what sounds great…read morefor dinner & I saw Pizza Di Gio. My husband and I had to try it. We were absolutely AMAZED how delicious this little cozy restaurant was and service was 10 stars . The three guys who were running the whole restaurant were so nice, welcoming, friendly, efficient and hardworking. They all had great attitude and so polite, I love Paris and the people are so kind and polite. We had primitive wine I think that's what they called it on the menu. We had margarita pizza and arugula & artichoke salad. They brought us bread which was pizza crust delicious, I'm sure they have a pizza oven & by the way kitchen was underground because they had an elevator called dumb waiter to send up the food. We shared marscapone biscotti pistachio dessert OMG. Cappuccino for my husband and I had an Americano and I LOVE IT that they heated up the cream. Details are everything and simply delicious food. EXCELLENT EXCELLENT FOOD AND SERVICE. Thank you to the amazing host, waiter, server & most of all the amazing CHEF for the amazing food that he has made.

The tiramisu was excellent and shareable for two. The staff manages the tables very well. Highly recommend reservations as they regularly turn people away due to how busy they are.

Best Italian Restaurant we've found in Paris. (That's a big statement, but it's a sentiment shared…read moreby multiple other friends who travel to Paris as well) Le Perron is a gem of an Italian restaurant in the 6th/7th arrondesmont. They make all pasta in-house, offer truffles when in season and beyond their typical menu provide a multitude of specials depending on what's fresh and in season. Beyond the excellent food, their Italian wine list is robust and covers a reasonable price range. Equally important is that's it's a spacious and comfortable restaurant in an otherwise cramped neighborhood of restaurants. I'm a tourist, I know, so like every other tourist Yelp review they seem to always come in at 5 stars, BUT Le Perrone deserves all of them.

Unexpected surprises…read more Desperate to find a restaurant after my first choice was completely packed till closing. Found Le Perron and called ahead last minute to find a table. The staff here is really excellent and their care for their patrons is apparent. As a vegetarian it can be hard trying to find proper food besides pizza. Our server was extremely helpful and helped adjust menu items to a vegetarian diet. Removing fish or chicken or adding some sauce, he really made sure we had a positive experience. The restaurant is quite cozy and feels like home. Though it does seem a bit older, this just adds to its charm. All in all, I found the food to be really delicious, especially the tagliatelle which he did with sauce and mushrooms minus the meat. The flavor of the food was beautifully balanced. I would definitely recommend this tiny little place to my friends and would guess that the non-veg food is equally as tasty.

Just finished a long bike ride to the Eiffel Tower and worked up an appetite. Decided to go straight to the main course. They are known for Au Gratins. My son is not a cheese fan so he opted for the norvigene (smoked salmon in dill lemon and EVOO. I decided to stick with the house specialty; Landais Au Gratin (cream potatoes, duck breast and emmental cheese). The 2 German girls beside me ordered a cider with both their meals so I followed their lead. When in Paris...... Considering the temperature, I almost second-guess myself and ordered something other than their house specialty of au gratin potatoes. In the end, I was very glad I overruled that thought. Brody enjoyed his meal. He just appeared to still be hungry when it was done and a 16 year-old boy that normally has a high caloric intake, I can understand why he wanted a second meal after eating his first! The restaurant in the patio were quite crowded even though we had reservations. They still sat us within five minutes of arrival. Not that five minutes is a long time to wait, but it was still worth the wait as good as the food tasted. We both enjoyed our meals.

THE FOOD ------------------…read more= Fermier - Cheese gratin with chicken was good. Didn't blow me away, but was solid with the creaminess of the sliced potatoes and emmental cheese combined together with mixed vegetables. The cheese was very strong though, so anything else was unfortunately pretty much overpowered by it. Arrived with bread, but it DEFINITELY could use other carb options to sop it all up (e.g., rice???)! = Landais - Cheese gratin with duck. Same comment as the above, except the Landais had egg and goat cheese also mixed in with almost the same ingredients as the Fermier. THE SERVICE ----------------------- + The lone waitress, who also worked the role as greeter, cashier and bartender was friendly. + Food arrived within 10 minutes of ordering. THE SURROUNDINGS ------------------------------------ = Small, tight restaurant. = Not many tables inside - 6 in total. + Located a few blocks away from the more touristy restaurants, towards the East, on a much quieter street. RANDOM OBSERVATIONS -------------------------------------- = Nada.
