Everything tasted so good here. We also loved that it was in a quiet side street away from the hustling of the city - perfect for our last dinner in Paris. Actually so perfect that we came back for lunch the next day before our flight. Order the grilled octopus if it's on the dinner menu. You will thank me.

After a day of exploring the Marais on foot and dealing with crowds of people all day, we needed a quiet place to have dinner. We chose the St. Germain des Prés neighborhood, but as it happened, this area was anything but quiet with bands after bands playing in every street corner as part of Paris' Fête de la Musique festival. We walked around, determined to find a quiet place on some side street, and, voila, Casa Bini materializes and soon enough we were sitting in its back dining room which was quiet and nicely lit. We did not have a reservation, but they seated us anyway. We ordered a round of Peroni, perfect for a hot day, and an order of their antipasto platter. Charcuterie, olives, veggies--they were all good. For our main course, my husband and I ordered the same thing, the pasta with sausage. Loved it. The pasta was perfectly cooked and the sausage was very tasty. My sister ordered the linguini with clams and her boyfriend ordered the spaghetti with pesto. They were both happy with their dishes. We held off on dessert. We had been eating sweets all day--macarons and ice cream! We thought that service and the timing of the plates were perfectly fine. They gave you time to talk, drink, eat and savor your food, but apparently for the other Americans across from us, service and the food were too slow. I say enjoy the company you're with and the wine, and go with the flow. After all, Paris is not the United States and you came to Paris on your own accord, so relax and enjoy yourself!

The fritti was light and delicious, the carpaccio was fine (though not nearly as good as in Rome), and the pastas were delightful.

So we wandered across the street and found this nice little spot with outside seating and a variety of appealing menu items. We were seated outside quickly and after a little time our waitress came to take our order. As mentioned in my other reviews we have small appetites, so we decided to split the Pizza Salsiccia based on its other reviews. When reading reviews, keep in mind that there are two locations for this restaurant. As I perused the reviews, it appeared that the other location, has more of the five star reviews. Despite that we decided to give it a try. The pizza was flavorful. I am a bit of a pizza aficionado, so my standards are very high. I would give the pizza a 3 star rating because it was very wet in the middle. The type where the topping pull off when pull a slice out. The coffee we had after was very good. Overall I think I can recommend this place with the caveat that I do not recommend the pizza, unless you like that type of dough.

On night one was started with glasses Nicolas Feuillatte Champagne which we really enjoyed and on our second night we had to have the bottle. We split the Diavola Pizza and the Calzone. The Calzone was great and completely stuffed. I will say if I had to pick I preferred the Diavola Pizza but that's because Enza is making fresh authentic Neapolitan Pizzas. For Round 2 we got the Salsiccia Pizza as well as the Truffle Pizza. The Salsiccia was my favorite of all the pizzas we had here. The Truffle Pizza was also very good and loaded with truffles as well so it is very rich so just a heads up. They on make their own Spicy Olive Oil which is great for dipping your fluffy crust into. We of course had to get dessert as well. I had the Pistachio Cheesecake which was get and had amazing Pistachio flavor. We also got the Croque Glace which is a true Ice Cream Sandwich. It was Vanilla Ice Cream with Chocolate on a Brioche Bun. It was actually so good and much better then what they are serving at Epcot. The staff was so friendly and helpful each time we came in and seemed happy to see us. For sure a place to check out if you are starting to get a little sick of French Cuisine.

Open kitchen concept where you can see the chefs happily cooking or cooking all stressed out lol. Our server was Izaya very friendly, well spoken and caring. Now food, mama Margherita pizza was freshly made so you have to really wait it out before taking a bite to ensure you don't burn your mouth. Pizza was evenly baked and crust was even yummy. Mozzarella cheese bites were the winner of the evening. So good the crumbs that covered the cheese were just wow. So tasty we ordered 3 servings of it. We ordered a small salad which was a generous portion for all of us. Good variety of wine list and very reasonably priced. Tiramisu was one of the dessert options and every bite met all our expectations. Overall great experience here they do squeeze a lot of people in there so you could be elbowing your neighbor on another table.

The story goes that I and the rest of my Nintendo of America colleagues had just finished up a very exciting business conference with our friends over at Nintendo of Europe. After wrap up, we decided to take a small tour around the lovely city of Paris. I, of course, took note of all of the similarities between the real Paris and the version seen in the Mario Kart Tour mobile game. I have to say, Nintendo hits it out of the park once again. We then decided to stop inside the Gemini, since that seemed to be the only restaurant name that I could pronounce. I decided to order the Truffle Pizza, and since I am from New York, I love a good pizza. The first bite and it was already heaven on earth! Truly authentic French food being served at this wonderful establishment. I am also very glad that the waiters entertained my shenanigans when asking them what they thought about Mother 3. I had a good laugh after they didn't even know what I was talking about. Excellent service, great food, and an overall fantstic time for any Nintendo fan wanting to stop in and admire the beautiful jungles of France. Also, don't forget to check out Pikmin 4, which lands in stores July 21st. Thank you for reading this highly anticipated Reggie Review, and I will see you all another time, Switch fans!

On the other hand, it made me realize that my mother was a terrible cook. Bistro des Augustins is a small, cozy venue offering both indoor seating and terrace seating near Pont Neuf. It serves a small number of curated dishes, including a wonderfully traditional Bistro Gratin in a homey ceramic dish served piping hot with a brown crispy cheesy top, herbs, spices and chicken. You can also get it with salmon. My brothers and I only saw my mother use our gas range to light her cigarettes, sanitize needles to remove our splinters, and make s'mores during the summer months when she couldn't muster the energy to take us 'outside camping.' I mean, all she had to do was borrow a cookbook, which I'm sure were readily available from maybe a neighbor or in any local bookstore or the public library. How hard is that? I was the only kid who brought a can of tuna and his own monogrammed can opener to school every day. Every day. And mom convinced me that the tuna holster she got me for my birthday was cool and hip. I was a naive mercury-filled fool, although I did become a very fast runner in junior high school because of the tuna holster. The interior décor of Bistro des Augustins is informal and vintage bistro style - wooden tables, traditional chalkboard menus, and soft lighting - creating a relaxed and comfy ambiance. My eyes have been opened to what's possible. Thank you Bistro des Augustins for expanding my culinary horizons. Five stars.

THE FOOD ------------------…read more= Fermier - Cheese gratin with chicken was good. Didn't blow me away, but was solid with the creaminess of the sliced potatoes and emmental cheese combined together with mixed vegetables. The cheese was very strong though, so anything else was unfortunately pretty much overpowered by it. Arrived with bread, but it DEFINITELY could use other carb options to sop it all up (e.g., rice???)! = Landais - Cheese gratin with duck. Same comment as the above, except the Landais had egg and goat cheese also mixed in with almost the same ingredients as the Fermier. THE SERVICE ----------------------- + The lone waitress, who also worked the role as greeter, cashier and bartender was friendly. + Food arrived within 10 minutes of ordering. THE SURROUNDINGS ------------------------------------ = Small, tight restaurant. = Not many tables inside - 6 in total. + Located a few blocks away from the more touristy restaurants, towards the East, on a much quieter street. RANDOM OBSERVATIONS -------------------------------------- = Nada.
