This is one of the worst coffee shops I've ever been to. The waiting time to get a latte was so long and on top of that they keep serving other people before me even if I had already asked them. The girl at the cashier was very rude. I know it was a mistake but managers should consider customer service skills when hiring people. On top of that the apple and cinnamon muffin was not fresh it was definitely from a few days back.

Tasty latte, comfy chairs, mellow tunes, warm sunshine... this is life. I haven't been here since last fall but am glad I stepped into the new location yesterday afternoon - the transformation was a pleasant surprise! The old location still serves as Brûloir's 'laboratory' where mad coffee scientist and owner Vincent continues to experiment and roasts a vast variety of beans and tests different blends to cater to its clientele varying palates. The difference is he now has more space to service his machines, store more freshly sourced beans and most importantly more room expand his imagination to craft and concoct the perfect roasting formulas. I've been told that the reason he got into the process of roasting his own coffee grains was to gain control over the outcome. Interestingly enough, the secret to torrefying coffee beans is part science and part art as you are working beans that contain thousands of chemicals and when you apply heat to it, quickly cool it, many things can happen. Acidity, sweetness, mouthfeel, flavor are all important factors that goes into the final result. The Torrefication process is very conditional, even if you have best ingredients you'll never really end up exact same results but there's one thing you can be sure of is you'll always end up with a fresh batch of roasted beans (vs pre-packaged). So what are the final results? None conclusive so far as there are still so many to try but I must admit that trying different brews in a welcoming and naturally bright sunny space makes it so much more enjoyable. If I were to pick on something, I'd say that the foam art is terrible, but who cares right? Oh forgot to mention that the menu includes bagels, breakfast sandwiches, scrabbled eggs with feta & bacon, grilled cheeses, pizza, soups and local sweets to satisfy your hunger. Can't wait to come back and savor the next drink, and test some more grilled cheese on 'to the be built' outdoor terrasse!

The Long Version: My husband and I stopped here for lunch on our most recent trip to Laval. They have a lunch combo for $12.50 for the banh mi of the day, a spring roll and a drink (bottle of water or a can of soda). You can upgrade your drink to a bubble tea for an additional $5. It was a Friday, so the banh mi of the day was the Traditional, which is essentially mixed cold cuts. We got a combo each. My husband got a bottle of water and I upgraded my drink to a bubble che (more on that later). You get a choice of a chicken spring roll or a vegetarian spring roll. We both chose the former. They bake their bread on-site and the bread is a legit banh mi baguette crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The banh mi was good, but the pork belly was sooooo fatty. I know some people like this, but I do not. I had to pick it out. It comes with different Vietnamese cold cuts including the one that is made of pork belly, pickled carrots, daikon radish and cucumbers as well as pâté, Vietnamese mayo (which is more like an aioli) and cilantro. We asked them to hold the cilantro, but they forgot. Not a big deal for us because it was easy to pick out. Just wastage on their part. Other than the fatty pork belly, I enjoyed the sandwich. The spring roll was hot and crispy and had ground chicken and vegetables in it. We chose sweet and sour dipping sauce, but there's the option for fish sauce as well. The bubble che is like a cross between bubble tea and the Vietnamese dessert che. It was chock-full of toppings which I loved. It had tapioca pearls, coconut jelly, grass jelly, red beans and toasted peanuts and coconut milk. It was really rich with a lot of different textures. I felt the amount of peanuts was excessive for my tastes and the crunchiness was bordering on weird. However, the toasted peanuts added this toasty smell to the drink which I oddly liked. I might request less peanuts next time. Definitely a drink for those already familiar with Vietnamese che or for the adventurous. I can see how it would not be to everyone's taste. Staff were courteous. There was a bit of a wait because they were very busy with orders, including lots of food delivery app orders. Sandwich makers wore gloves, which I appreciated. They also sell vermicelli or rice bowls and noodle soups. They have a small selection of imported Asian snacks, candies, ramen packages and bubble tea ingredients. They have an area to eat-in too. They are located in a small plaza and there is free parking in the plaza parking lot. Review #91 (2025)

First of all, Whassub Yelp?…read more What. A. Name. Secondly, lunch was delightful. This place is easy to miss on a busy Cure-Labelle street but I truly recommend a visit. The establishment is larger than expected with a really nice seating arrangements. It is clean and well laid out with perks like a large flat screen TV and open kitchen. The staff is very polite and friendly and the food was served in abut 20 minutes. I went a chiabatta style panini with charcoal steak and Greek salad. What I really enjoyed is building my sandwich according to my preferences. There's a very impressive selection of ingredients available to add to your sandwich. With your meat being cooked on charcoal, you can really build your dream sandwich. The Greek salad wasn't necessarily authentic with the iceburg salad it was still very fresh and generous. The portion size can easily feed 2 people. The fries were just PERFECT as well. The price-tag is very decent.

The grilled shish tawouk is by far the best in Montreal, tender, juicy and full of flavour. It is not that usual grillades you can get any where in the city, the food is made with great care.It is not that street food junk, it tasted like a great home cook food with a nice touch. The place is run by a family (a man, his wife and his 2 daughters) so it has a really nice cozy feeling. The only downside is that the place has a really small number of tables and is kind of small. If you happened to visit it on a weekend and the place is packed don't expect fast service. While waiting for your grilled chicken/meat you can enjoy their great salad and their out of this world hummus. In my visit we were 6 adults and 6 children and 2 more large groups arrived at the same time so our food was late for a while, but the owner apologized in person and offered complimentary sides which were great by the way. Needless to say this will not be my last visit. N.B. the prices are budget friendly

The restaurant didn't provide a high chair for our baby, which was a bit disappointing. The service was good with our waitress checking with us to order and being prompt and attentive. Here is what we ordered: Grilled Cheese O+G (8/10) - the bread with the grilled cheese and caramelized onions were cooked well. The homemade ketchup had a sweet taste to it and was brought out a little colder than room temperature. I probably would have preferred the ketchup/tomato sauce to be a bit warmer. The Chicken Melt (8/10) - this sandwich was pretty big. It had grilled chicken in a creamy sauce, some Cole slaw (actually a lot of Cole slaw) and some dill pickles. The sandwich was a bit messy to eat and I think it had a little too much Cole slaw, but it was a good sandwich, nonetheless. Overall, I good experience with a few suggestions in my review that I think would have made it really great.
