"Family run coffee shop offers great value and hipster ambiance"…read more Presse Café in the Marché Central is a nice reprieve from the hustle and bustle of the shopping center. This isn't your ordinary push button brew franchise as their coffees are hand crafted with old school style Manual bean grinding, frothing, etc and pressing - after all their brand doesn't just stand for newspapers en français! This location has been around for about 5-6 years; pandemic years included lol The decor and atmosphere are still hip with high ceilings, plenty of large communal tables to plug in and do some laptop work using their high speed wifi, or take in a business meeting...and there is plenty of parking! Aside from the great location, in times of the pandemic, it's is one of the only quick service places in the area that allows dining room seating. For lunch, their bakery is nice and carried most staples while their wraps and sandwiches (priced in the $6-8 range) offer great quality and value. The Lunch items we tried today were the "tuna and olives" and "the smoked meat" wraps, which were hearty, grilled and tasty! I'm all for supporting local and This franchised coffee shop appears to be family run. Our coffees, lattes, espresso drinks and grilled wraps, that were cut in half for sharing, tasted great!... Especially knowing how attentive and caring were what we assumed was a husband and wife team behind the counter hustling to make the orders correctly and with a smile! Well, if that was brother and sister, it's still all in the family! We will definitely be back! #greatcoffee

Not only can you get a great…read moreselection of coffees and teas (and all the paraphernalia that goes with them), you can order the type of roast you want for any bean they offer. Their teas are good (same or a bit better than Kusmi) but not as good as Camelia Sinensis. The very best thing about this place is that you can order green coffee beans (they have about 40 varieties to choose from). I significantly prefer roasting my own (forget the $300 coffee roasters and use an old popcorn popper) as the taste of a freshly roasted and ground coffee doesn't compare to anything available in the coffee shops. The prices vary from fair to expensive. The staff at the store is sweet but it seems they have permanent ''trainees' who aren't very knowledgeable about the various products. If you want large quantities of roasted coffee or even smaller quantities of green beans (1Kg is the min.), you really should either email or call them at least 24hrs ahead. Otherwise be prepared to wait 20 to 45 min. for your order. They also have a website (http://www.terracaf.ca/index.asp) you can place orders above $25 from. ----- CAUTION : LOL...After a couple of emails received from friends who read my review and tried roasting their coffee I figured I should put a warning here. DO NOT ROAST YOUR COFFEE INDOORS....the smell (not as nice as one might think) will take days or even weeks to linger off.

During my own research, I also learned this was a popular spot known for their high quality Italian pastries. Since we were in Mile End and looking for some coffee and carbs, we thought it would be a good place to check out, so off we went. The café sits on a corner among several other commercial businesses; the entrance catches the eye with a hunter green awning that dons the Olympic torch and rings, as well as some outdoor seating. The inside very much gives off Italian café vibes - it's a medium-sized open area with tables scattered throughout. The production counter sits to the left where orders are placed, and televisions with different sports are projected across the perimeter. In addition to this location in Mile End, they have three other locations. We definitely wanted to get some coffee, but I didn't want to leave without browsing their bakes so I was scanning what they had. They have a good variety of coffee beverages, as well as several pastries. I ultimately decided to get a cappuccino, and we split three bakes: a pistachio cornetto, a ricotta bomboloni, and an amaretto cookie. The bakes were good. The cornetto was filled with pistachio cream which is kinda played out due to the Dubai chocolate craze - but the cornetto was nice and airy with a good filling ratio. The bombolini was also good as was the cookie - really high-quality bakes all around. Service was good, and overall I really enjoyed my experience at Café Olimpico. The coffee and pastries were good, and the vibes are on. I wouldn't hesitate to return the next time I'm in Montreal.
