My kids were so excited to go to this candy store that we made a whole trip out of it and went to the city so we could check out this candy store . When we got there it was a little crowded so our children stayed together (which we usually do but even more so because it was small store ) the kids remembered seeing online that they had an upstairs so we all went up . We noticed quickly after we got up there that the owner followed us . The lady told some boys behind the counter that it was a mess upstairs. The teenage boys replied that it wasn't. Then she whispered to the boys that she was watching us . Mind you I have 5 children ages 13,10,9,7,and 1. They are all well behave and we own our own business and don't have any desire to steal from anyone . The owner followed us all closely around the whole store making snarky remarks under her breath about myself and my family . It was uncomfortable and my husband and I wanted to leave but didn't because my kids were waiting to come to this store and check it out . When it was time to check out the cashier was nice but you could tell she felt awkward because the owner was also talking about us to her. My step daughter said she forgot to grab a snack upstairs and we asked if she knew where it was located at . She said yes so we allowed her to go upstairs by herself to grab it and come right back down. When we told the cashier asked if that was all and I told her we were waiting for one more thing the owner rudely said ."she went up by herself ?" My step daughter is 7. She won't get lost upstairs in the store. There's no where else for you to go than to go downstairs. I ignored the rude woman and took my stepdaughters snack and gave it to the cashier and paid. While the cashier was checking us out , the owner stood my the register staring us down like we couldn't afford her products (felt like a full on pretty woman moment ). We paid and when we were walking out my husband told them thank you and even when they said you're welcome they said it rudely (snooty) . We told the kids we will find other cool squishy toy stores in New Orleans because it isn't worth giving money to ride people. On the way back to the car we stopped at fluerty girl and the worker was so nice and she said a lot of people doesn't go to le bonbon and she never hears good things about the owner. It didn't make sense to my husband and I why someone would have a candy/toy store but over the top when children are in the store. One and done for us . I'm read more
