My thoughts FWIW: -Beautiful space. I can't imagine what they spent on it. The tables are awkwardly close together, mimicking a french bistro but with such a big restaurant that's generally not very full I don't see why they need the capacity at the expense of comfort. -Food is very good, and it's a great change of pace from the boring sushi and Italian places that are everywhere here. I like getting a filet or the chicken there, the dover sole is pretty good also. If you like french, you'll like this. -Prices are high, it's very expensive. I think maybe that's part of the reason for the slower nights. I thought this place would be slammed because it's unique to the area, but when I go there it's generally not that full. It's not empty, but, it's not as busy as I would expect. I like quieter restaurants so that's not really an issue, but with such a big space I just hope they make it. Sunset is a neighborhood and I think how places like Sardinia have made it so long is recognizing that, maybe offer something that draws in more casual eaters (or drinkers, the bar is beautiful). I know it's a balance, because the type of food served is higher material costs. Sardinia keeps removing menu items because they get priced out of what the area can support, so it's not easy. -Service is hit or miss, but maybe it's just because they are new. They can be a little slow and disorganized. Maybe just working the kinks out. Everyone is nice though. -This is a place to drink wine rather than beer, but it's laughable their beer choice is Corona. France makes some decent beer now, carry a French lager and an IPA. Or go Belgium for the beers if that's easier to supply, Duval or something works. I liked their wine selections. -They seem to do zero marketing. Not sure if that's intentional, but, not sure many people know it's even there. Do some Instagram stuff, make some noise. There are lots of big money homes nearby, put a frickin' flyer in their mailboxes or something. Venetian islands, Sunset, Bay Road, come on lol. TL;DR: Glad French food is here. Restaurant is absolute beautiful. Vibes are good inside in regards to Music if you want that scene in Miami. Ordered the penne first thing on menu. Good. Fast turnaround. Say at bar. No complaints. What I would say as a local... you're in a local neighborhood setup. Cater to the locals. Barely any air conditioning inside. Couldn't decide if inside or outside was colder (in summer in Miami). Poor service felt like waiters weren't interested in waiting on the table, slow service. I am from Chicago and was in Miami Beach for a conference. Had dinner there on Friday night. It was the most beautiful restaurant I have ever been in. The food was outstanding and the service was impeccable. It was such a great all around experience, we cancelled our reservation at our intended restaurant on Saturday and went back here. I've read some of the other reviews and the only thing I agree with is that it wasn't as busy as I would have expected. It's fairly new and I'm not sure they do much marketing but Miami' Beach residents are LUCKY to have this place in there midst. We will come back to Miami just to come here. It's a little pricey but the whole town is expensive. If it's too much there's a McDonald's down the street. Don't diss this place because of the price . You get what you pay for and it's well worth it. read more

While the ambiance of this restaurant is very nice, the food was incredibly disappointing - bad, even. The service was slow and inconsistent which was surprising, given that it was not that busy during the week. Waiters also have limited to no tableside preparation skills. I live in the neighborhood and hope they raise their game - it's a terrific location and lovely for outdoor dining while the weather is still nice in the evening. We went to Le Basilic last night hoping to have a nice dinner in their beautiful garden. My spouse ordered a margarita straight up no salt from a young French waitress. As any capable bartender should know, that means in a martini glass with no ice. When she brought the margarita out it was in an old fashioned glass filled with ice. My spouse said it should not have ice. She took the drink back and when she returned it was in the same old fashioned glass less the ice. At this point my spouse was very frustrated and let her know in no uncertain terms that the drink should be served in a martini glass. She took it away again. At this point a large, intimidating male employee came over and told us we cannot treat his staff this way. He said we were wrong and should have said when ordering the drink about the ice and the glass. I said that proper service was to bend over backwards to make sure customers were happy, and that we had ordered this drink in restaurants all over the world and never encountered such an issue. He again said we were wrong. We waited in limbo a few minutes expecting, in spite of our warranted annoyance, to place an order. They finally brought the drink correctly but the same fellow came over and told us the drink was free but the waitress would not be serving us, and that we should leave. He said they didn't need our business, that they had a strong local following. We were shocked, especially since we were one of two tables in an almost empty restaurant. Truly, this was the worst experience we have ever had in a restaurant. We went somewhere else where our jangled nerves were soothed by excellent service. TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE server and even worst is the manager. This is the worst restaurant I have been to in the world!!! The manager, server and even the bartender are sketch! I would like you to know I have NEVER written such a terrible review so only going to provide highlights. We were a group of 8 (4 women, 4 men) and let's just say upfront NONE of us would recommend or be returning to this restaurant. EVER! Where to being with our server Simon(e) - don't care how he spells his name! When we were seated our server told us they had no escargot, no scallops and no burrata. When ordering our main course 5 people (out of 8) ordered the 12 oz rib steak. Our server came back and said they only had 3 -12 oz rib steak left so 2 people must change their order. The reason was because it was Sunday night, and they were busy on Friday and Saturday night and ran out of food....WHAT???!!! Simon is misogynist and completely ignored all the women at the table. Simon said to one woman "stop talking", same women ordered a glass of white wine that never arrived. Although Simon's focus was to try and sell us a bottle of wine called Palmer that apparently is $500 US, but he was 'willing' to sell it to us for $250 US. Sketch! Again, a women ordered the branzino and Simon claimed he would debone in front of her. Not only did he forget to order the branzino, it was not deboned in front of her, but it was pan sheared and was clearly put under a heat light. That branzino was $69 US. The women refused the dish and sent it back. It now escalated. Simon provided the women with an empty apology...only to follow up to all of us "if you are looking for a free meal it's not going to happen" and then went on to say "things in life are not fair"...WHAT AN A$$HOLE! BTW we were absolutely not looking for a free meal. BEWARE...When the bill came it was brought on an electronic machine - no itemized printed out bill. We requested a printed itemized bill. Please know that I haven't mentioned everything that went wrong during dinner but let's say they SHOULD NOT HAVE ADDED A 20% gratuity to the bill. But they did! We refused to pay the 20% gratuity but paid for our food. Unfortunately, I'm not providing the scene that unfolded but let's just say it wasn't good. In conclusion, DO NOT GO TO THIS RESTURANT!
