I've lived across the street from Bernie's for 20 years. Not only is the food incredible, the hospitality is beyond. Omar is a professional. Grant, a mixologist, will always GRANT you whatever you desire - even the strangest of requests. The environment is empirically incomparable, on the water, facing Cheryl. Now, if you're blessed enough to Cheryl, you will feel at home! read more

For those of us that live in the 305 this time of year is the ideal Tome dine al fresco and this is a prime spot. It sits on the intercostal canal so you see water and all the waterfront homes. The food skews towards elevated latin (Cuban, Argentinian etc) but you will find burgers and sandwiches too. I had this wonderful steak perfectly cooked served with tostones and a nice aioli. Excellent meal read more

Cafe Bernie - Beer, Wine & Spirits Near Me - Miami Beach, Florida

Found the little restaurant, which is attached to a large mid-Beach condo, when we were in Miami a day ahead of a cruise. We were able to catch the free trolley from our accommodations to the cafe. Most of us hadn't eaten since breakfast due to a long travel day so we were hungry and ready for an early dinner. We greeted by the friendly staff and quickly had our cold cocktails. Two friends decided on a pineapple margaritas but they both thought there was something off with the drink. Perhaps the pineapple juice? It wasn't very busy since we weee there on the early side. The drinks (watermelon cosmo $16 + $4 grey goose & Casamigos resposado with club soda $22) were good but pricey in our minds. My husband and I split a grilled pompano meal ($ 46.00) l. Our starter, guacamole with homemade chips (stale), didn't arrive until after the entree. The portion sizes were also a tad small. We sat outside on the patio with a view of the canal behind the building. The view of the sun setting over the obviously expensive mansions was relaxing. read more

This insider Mid-Beach Miami restaurant on the water doesn't need to advertise. It's the go-to for those locals with winter homes in high rise glass condos high above the ocean on sterile streets. It's a probably designed for someone to go a few times a week. Wish I could. A wry pro staff in a spot most will never find. read more

Cafe Bernie was a hodge podge of good and bad. I rated the food average with service that was all over the place. No coming back to the table to check on drinks/water, no coming back when my brother asked for more plantain chips, etc. You will be exposed to mosquitos and possibly flies here which is expected in an open air restaurant (including the inside) during summer, I'm not fragile, just letting you know now. I found the food to be overpriced for the quality they offer. Valet is your only option here at $6.00 for up to 3 hours as of this writing. Vegetarian options are limited. They do offer daily specials. Staff is friendly and once you get their attention they will help you out quickly. One thing that I didn't care for is a staff member manhandling dogs and then not washing up. People: dogs don't belong in restaurants, you can go an hour or two without them...if you need emotional support to eat, do it in the comfort of your home. You get a nice waterfront (intracoastal) view and there is indoor seating. Located inside the 5600 Condo at 5600 Collins. I liked the gazpacho and the guac was generous. They do offer a full bar. read more

Really a disappointment. Walked about 1.2 miles because of the Yelp reviews. App of gazpacho was pretty good. Bang bang shrimp, ok. Chicken was almost inedible. Way overcooked. Mentioned it to the waiter who said, "I'll tell the kitchen". Also had to ask for water several times. I don't recommend this place. read more

Now see this is why I don't write reviews they always seem out of context and maybe. I caught a good kitchen on a bad day(happens more than tiu think) but the cafe bernies stories were growing legendary, larger that life and with the hopes of some 4th of july cracklings we gave all to the winds to experience Bernies. first I have to say what a view on the bay just sooooo gorgeous and you want you chill I give this place at least a 9 In chillabilaty for sure with 2 snaps back, lol. the cons were few, for a place that crowns its burgers Iwas dismayed, the very nice waitress had to point out where all the cheese was in my burger, behind was a poster were Ihad already seen where all my cheese ended uo, and that brings me to the wonderful staff who kept ur laughing and enjoying ourselve and for that we sure shot will return again, the cheesless(a little bit) was still very good and the tuna tartare was amazing as it can and we loved it. we well see our wonderful counterparts again soon, so should you! read more

Great service and by the water. We sat under the canopy and it was beautiful. I got the goat cheese salad and it was wonderful.

This was such a lovely, relaxed atmosphere in which to have dinner. The menu is quite varied - spans American dishes to tacos on Tuesday to Cuban-inspired. I actually had the burger and it was great! It is located on the ground floor in the back of the condo building. So, if you are like me and confused when you arrive, just go into the building and tell them you are there to go to Cafe Bernie and they will have you sign in and then point you in the right direction! ;-) read more

Lunch at Bernie's! Ate outdoors on the patio. Very hungry due to my first full day at a residence on 5445 Colllins street and having had no breakfast. Quite a nice experience. I was offered a small bowl of fried plantain chips initially. It is rare that a restaurant offers anything "on the house." It was taco Tuesday! There were several tacos offered, skirt steak, grouper, mahi mahi, pork and vegetarian. My crispy shrimp taco was an excellent blend of flavors. It was truly outstanding. For my beverage I had an iced tea which was very nice as well. Glad I decided to try this place. read more

Another winner for awesome food delivered with great service. Nice little place right on the intracoastal with patio seating. Jackie was the icing on the cake that made for a great experience. Café Bernie checks all the boxes for an excellent dining experience. This is a Miami Beach restaurant that is a must try for everyone. The water views from the comfort of the large canopy or the umbrella fitted tables on the water's edge are wonderful. With the sun setting and a nice breeze wafting in, I can't think of any better place to be for dinner. The fantastic menu holds many scrumptious selections. The Seafood Stuffed Avocado is a must have. Whether it's the Lobster Dinner Special or the Churrasco Steak, you will find something to please. From seafood to a burger, from dessert to drinks, everything leaves the kitchen to your table hot, fresh, and artfully presented. Lastly, the staff exemplifies all the hallmarks of fine hospitality. We were greeted at the door, welcomed in, and escorted to our table. Rikki, our waiter, excelled in every way. One of the managers, Grant, did a satisfaction check on us mid meal. At meal's end, we were fully satisfied and left with smiles and a cheerful good bye from the staff. This is the kind of dining experience you deserve, so try Café Bernie. You will be thrilled that you did. read more

I went to this restaurant on March 19, 2026, after a really difficult day. I just wanted to relax with my girlfriend, enjoy a few glasses of wine, and have a good meal but, the experience was extremely disappointing. The service, in particular, was frustrating. While we were still enjoying our appetizer, the waitress kept coming back to our table every few minutes at least 8 to 10 times pressuring us to order our main course. It made us feel rushed and uncomfortable instead of relaxed. At one point, around 9:02 pm, she even mentioned that the kitchen was closing, even though the restaurant closes at 10 pm. That completely took away from the experience. We couldn't even enjoy our dinner properly. As soon as we finished, she brought the check right away without offering dessert or coffee, which made it feel like we were being pushed out. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience, especially given the kind of evening we were hoping for. Unfortunately, this is not a place I would return to. read more

Hidden away in the lobby of a condo building is a little oasis of waterfront dining with a view of the Intracoastal Waterway and tasty tropical dishes. I'd seen Cafe Bernie's mentioned on another Miami Beach social media page and had a chance to stop by for a quick weekday dinner. You drop your car off at valet (or rideshare) then sign in at the front desk. There is inside dining space but try to access their waterside patio for your bites. (I heard they also have a weekend brunch menu) Niko my server was super friendly and on-point with suggestions. After ordering a chilled glass of Pinot noir and enjoying some complementary mariquitas (green plantain chips), I ordered straight from the main course. (Yes, I previously researched the menu). Although their menu seems to emphasize seafood, their beef courses are just as yummy. Personally, my dinner was their deliciously messy and sticky guava bbq ribs. Served with a side of basmati rice rice & a dish of black beans (frijoles negros), these are the kind of ribs you eat by hand at a picnic or your favorite sports bar with a generous lather of tangy sweet guava bbq sauce. Your fingers will get sticky - even though you're in a nice condo go ahead and lick them. Yes the ribs are that good! (They do have lemon scented hand wipes to clean your hands and phone screen). I also enjoyed an extra side of lightly crispy & thick yucca fries with ketchup. A slice of pistachio-dusted & whipped cream garnish key lime pie with a thin graham crust and lime scented jigglyness closed out my meal. This is definitely a find if you're in midbeach and want to enjoy a flavorful yet relaxing dinner. read more

It's been almost three years and I'm beyond excited to say that it was a perfect meal again!!! Today we had the brunch and just out of this world! Normally I don't care for a fried fish sandwich but this was outstanding. Light and flakey grouper . Not greasy. Great! The mango shrimp was amazing as always and we even enjoyed the yuca fries; first time I've had moist yuca fries. Consistency Bernie's is one of the best experiences in Miami Beach!!! read more

My chicken sandwich here was absolutely amazing. So we were staying down the road and didn't want to eat at our hotel. Fun fact, the bike path leads to more hotels and condominiums. I thought there would be cute little cafes or bistros or some sort of food place and no. Nothing. My SIL saw this place and at first we were confused where it was located. Across the street, inside a condominium building. Parked our bikes, signed in at the front desk, walked past some beautiful & very expensive art work and found the restaurant! Chose to sit outside since the weather was prefect. Friendly staff, fabulous food and some maintenance work being done on the building. But to be honest most of Miami looked like it was being renovated. Definitely get here for a bite! read more

I made reservations to have dinner at Cafe Bernie for my bday! When I say I enjoyed everything here! The owner Bernie greeted me at the door and treated me so nice my entire time there. The restaurant was packed and he made sure I was seated outside to view the oceanfront as I requested. My food was delicious , I ordered the shrimp scampi and the fish and chips (red snapper bites). My waiter and all the staff were very friendly! I even came on a good night they happened to have a fashion show and live DJ! I will definitely return to visit Bernie's when I return to Miami! Charming small venue with scenic views of the Intracoastal. We tried the Lobster Roll, but it was served in a hamburger bun instead of the traditional roll, and while it wasn't bad, it didn't wow us. The Lobster Quesadilla fared better in terms of flavor. Unfortunately, service was slow, and the restaurant seemed understaffed--it took about 25 minutes just to get our bill. Also, keep in mind that valet parking is not validated, so expect an additional $ for that. read more

Good food, slow service, nice view. I'd go back if I was in the area but wouldn't go out of my way to eat here again.

I've only been here for lunches. Both myself and whoever I'm with always loves Cafe Bernie. This is a very unassuming location. You have to pay for valet parking ($5+tip) unless you're strolling in on foot. If you're staying in the area and want a quiet place to enjoy a nice lunch at a good price...walk on in. This is your place. I highly recommend, as your meal, their famous seafood chowder. It's very filling. What I've also done is split their Cubanazo sandwich (which is amazing) with someone and you'll be perfectly full. Their drinks and desserts are ok. I'm more about the food, and the food here does it for me. The service and cleanliness here is always amazing. Figure you'll spend $35/pp for lunch including tax and tip. read more

Café Bernie is always a wonderful experience. The Waite staff is friendly and the food is absolutely delicious with a wide variety of items for anyone to choose from. I have not had anything bad to eat here in 10 visits. This is a great spot for locals and tourist alike looking for a beautiful sunset or just being by the water with fresh air.
