Dit Italiaanse restaurant is gevestigd in een oude slagerij. Dat kan je nog zien aan de koelcellen en aan de tegeltjes aan de muur. De tegeltableaus tonen de vier jaargetijden, vandaar de naam. Die tegeltjes die zorgen overigens ook voor een vreselijk slechte akoestiek. Alle geluid weerkaatst. Wie niet tegen herrie kan gaat hier beter niet heen. Wie in het restaurant zit hoort op zijn best een druk kippenhok vol geroezemoes en op zijn slechtst een zaal vol krijsende kinderen. Dat heeft als voordeel dat je gerust je kroost hiernaar toe kan nemen. Ik vind dat ook goed bij de Italiaanse volksaard passen, jong en oud leeft ongecensureerd samen, heerlijk! De tafeltjes staan redelijk dicht bij elkaar dus vraagt men de gasten de jas op de kapstok bij de toiletten op te hangen. Zo heeft iedereen aan tafel wat meer plek. De kaart verandert met het seizoen mee en is over de jaren ook aangepast naar een entree, pasta, pizza en dessertkaart. Op het bord boven de keuken nog wat dagmenu zaken. De versheid van de producten en simpelheid van gerechten bevalt me hier altijd goed. In de zomer is er een groot terras buiten in de zomer, waar je lekker buiten kan eten. Giulia zwaait de scepter over de vaak Italiaanse bediening. Die kordaat is maar niet onvriendelijk. Dit restaurant zit vaak vol dus kortdaatheid is geboden, anders krijg je geen eten. Bij groepen vanaf 5 kan er gereserveerd en dat zou ik ook aanraden. 21 jaar geleden werd mijn dochter veel te vroeg geboren. En na een nacht en een lange dag/avond in het ziekenhuis klopte ik hier met mijn zwager aan om wat te eten. En werden wij superlief opgevangen en verwend met hapjes van het huis. Het zal je dus niet verbazen dat ik recensies over dit restaurant die klagen over de bediening wat meewarig bekijk. Unfriendly place, manager is rude. Pasta is tasteless, looks like unfrozen food. The manager or owner lady was able to make us feel unwelcome and we saw her being rude with two other girls sitting next to us because they ordered coffee and cake and the table was supposed to be used for people wanting to have dinner because "you see the table is all set" said the manager. Oh my, a spoon and a fork means "table all set". Coasters piled up under table's feet to balance it, not a clean floor at all, only one tiny toilet for all the clients which is just beside the kitchen entrance. This cozy restaurant is within walking distance from the Hilton Amsterdam. We came as a group at the suggestion of friends that happened to have previously stumbled upon the restaurant. It was busy for a weeknight, so we briefly waited for a table. I ordered the 4 cheese pizza, a sprite and ended with the chocolate mousse. All were flavorful yet light. It would deserve 5 stars... but: - Really a lot of kids... and it was not too early - Service is not the best.... even if sadly most of the waiters and the owner is Italian - It is very noisy (and I was eating outside.. with barely any traffic). Back to the food... GREAT!! Starters of Bruschetta and artichokes with cheese... YUMM! I am CRAZY for plain margherita pizza ... this time I went with a bit more of cheese and I got the bufala one. NICE!! Not too much cheese.. very good tomato sauce with cherry tomatoes also and nice basil!! Antonella went for the usual mushrooms pizza and it was very good. All served with the house white wine.. very very fresh and good match with the food. A nice summer dinner outside in the terrace which is quote ample and NOT on a very crowded street. Not the cheapest but you get good quality food... and lot of kids.. did I mention that already (I like kids actually ... but these tonight were just WILD and jumping all around!!). I've so far only had the take away. Their website says ready in 10 minutes but I called on a busy Friday night so it took a little longer at 20 minutes but it's still good. I had the calzone which was lovely and tasted fresh and not greasy or stodgy. It was a good calzone and I really liked the fresh tomato and onion salsa which was bruschetta style. My husband had the pepperoni and it was also good. Next time we plan to eat in so I will update this review then. read more

We found this place in the end of a walk discovering the neighborhood. Yes, it is tiny, busy and it only has small toilet. But gosh, is it worth it! This was one of the best pizzas i had in my life. Creamy and juicy centre, thin and crispy crust, amazing harmony of taste with just the right undertone of garlic and olive oil. And it does feel cosy and favoured by locals, even though foreigners were happy in there, too. We are sure coming back. read more

Sadly I have to update my review and say what a terrible night. We arrived and there was a wait as always, but sat down after some 10 minutes and we ordered right away. All that was good, then came the worse. Waiting over an hour for two pastas and nothing came. We asked our servers couple of times and they said it was coming, but again nothing came. After few more minutes, the table next to us wanted to change their plate one of the servers actually gave them what was destined to our table. We left the restaurant, and to be honest not sure if we will ever come back. It is sad that the servers had no reference on how to treat us, and even when we asked about our order they didn't even had remorse and showed not interest in helping. Worst customer experience you can get, we shouldn't have bothered! We waited for almost 10 minutes to be seated, ignored by staff and even told off after asking a waiter for some attention. The lady in charge, Juilia, finally turned to us, confirming to bring us drinks while still standing. She then immediately changed her mind to answer a phone call of customer trying to make a reservation during which she didn't fail to make clear to everyone around her that the customer was a pain by constantly rolling her eyes. She ended her call 5 minutes later, deciding to ignore us and our order, immediately dedicating all her attention to a person walking in whom she seemed to be friends with. She walked off. After wasting almost 15 minutes of our time , we left. This was one of the most arrogant moments I have ever experienced as a customer. Walked here, being the closest to our hotel, wish we had walked further. Terrible service, an unfriendly "ready to order" was literally the only thing said to us by sever the entire time. Couple of months ago, my friend and I were trying to catch up. Because she lives in Amsterdam Zuid then She suggested to have dinner at Ristorante Le 4 Stagioni. I was excited to try new restaurant as always. When I arrived at the restaurant, I had to wait 15 to 20 minutes to get the good table out side as it was summer evening and we did not book the table in advance. But after waiting we got really good table. I am a vegetarian, they had plenty of vegetarian options for me. I tried pizza mozzarella, which was quite delicious. Mozzarella was fresh and juicy. I must say since then this is my favorite place to eat pizza and other Italian options. Staff was friendly as well. I would say if you are bored from same Italian restaurant in your neighborhood then go to Ristorante Le 4 Stagioni and give it a try. read more

We wanted pizza while here and decided to try this place. Saw the reviews that the service was not great, but we were early (6-ish) and thought we would beat the crowds. When we arrived we said table for four, and as the hostess looked around she let out a little sigh as she scanned the restaurant and I thought this was the start of the service problems. But her sigh must have been because a reserved table never showed and she had to make a decision to let us have the last outdoor table. She led us to the table and removed the "reserved" sign and seated us. So nice of her to give us that even though we had no reservations. Someone else must have been late I guess. The food was very good and the service was just fine. Our waiter was even a little cheeky, when we asked if they had wine, he said with a straight face "no", dead silence, then "of course!" Two pizzas, spaghetti, and ravioli later we were all very satisfied. Would recommend if you want some good no surprised Italian food while here. read more

Terrible customer service. I came in to order a cup of espresso - the guy behind the counter said No and apologized, explain that they would open in 10 min..... I though Ok,fair enough- so I asked if I could than wait outside at the terras (which was absolutely empty) until they could help me with 1 cup of espresso... When a lady (I'm guessing the owner) jumps out of no were and interrupted the conversation... Saying "No!-in 10 minutes we open" very rude. Where I kindly said I understood and that I would not mind to wait outside and she repeated with very rude tone again "No! In 10 minutes we are open" with no eye contact. What kind of example are you giving towards your employees? And treating customers like that? She obviously has no customer service skills what so ever. Again - I was only asking for tiny cup of espresso... How much labor is that anyway? No way I'll come back here again. It's a shame for such a beautiful neighborhood. read more

AWFUL MAITRE D. We have been pretty frequent customers at this restaurant. Every week, either just as a family or, oftentimes, with friends, as was the case today.. We've finally had it and this is the last of our business we will give them. The pizza is very good, as are the desserts. The place is nice and located in a beautiful spot in one of Amsterdam's best neighborhoods. The server staff is very friendly and courteous. But Evelyn, the manager on duty today (and some other times, but especially today) is A PAIN and EXTREMELY RUDE and unfriendly. At our table, because we had just come in from a busy day tour where adults had eaten a lot, we just ordered for our kids, and asked for sone beer for the adults while our starved children ate their meal. Out of nowhere Evelyn barreled towards our table, with a huge scowl and in a very angry tone demanded why we were not eating while occupying a table on a Friday night. We had made a reservation well in advance, plus we went often and were still spending money having a (till then) leisurely drink while the young ones ate. So we explained and she kept a sourly expression so we asked "what can we do" (we could hardly just up and leave when our kids were right the middle of their dinner) and she said "make sure this is the last time; tonight you can stay" before thundering away. I was flabbergasted- speechless actually. So we just let it slip for a while. All this with at least four empty tables and no queue to be seen at the door. No one at the bar. Couldn't she have offered options if she needed the seats (for whatever reason as the place was far from full), like for example, "could the adults please move to the bar as we really need the seats- that would really help" or something? Isn't this part of her job? She kept walking past our table, visibly glaring at us..Then 20 minutes later she returns, still sulking, and says, "could you all please move outside?" (!!!!) WHAAAT???? Why she wanted to throw us all out, kids and all, is something that escapes me. We paid, left a tip for our very gracious server, and left. NEVER TO COME BACK. This is terrible and all those good things the restaurant has going for it are not enough to take this abuse. Think again. Sotto is just as good with super friendly staff and just 0.5 miles away. We'll be giving them our business from now on. read more

Very quiet neighborhood just south of the Concert Hall. We showed up at 6pm and there was no wait but about an hour later the place was packed and there were people waiting for tables. Rough service because they can! - incredible Italian food for ok prices. There is no alternative. This place serves probably best sea food pasta and very good pizza. For around 13.50 you get yr plate loaded with big shrimps and mussels with super fresh ingredients. Wine comes in mini water glasses and is overpriced (well somewhere they have to make money) as is the house bread at 3.25 which sometimes comes without ordering it. You can't really book a table and sometimes have to wait 15mins - it it is worthwhile. Tiramisu is also nice in this old chacuterie. read more

Went here after reading reviews. The pizza is nothing special, and isn't anywhere close to traditional Italian pizza. As far as restaurants go, its not very "gezellig" and I wouldn't return. So-so food and tons of families with kids. Definitely not a good place for couples. read more

The take away pizza is ok, usually cold though. The calzone was not filled enough, very doughy and a small plastic container of tomato/onion topping. The worst was the €12.50 octopus/shrimp salad. It had two shrimps and some chopped up octopus with a little bit of salad on the bottom. Barely enough for one person. They are very pricey for what you get. read more
