05/08/25 - Met my buddy Miguel for lunch. We had a hankering fer sum Vietnamese food. I found this place on Yelp in the Mediterranean restaurant area on Kedzie just south of Lawerence Ave. They have many choices as they have a large menu. We sort of had our heart set on Pho as it was a chilly May Day. My buddy ordered a large bowl of Pho Ga Xe shredded chicken & a vegetable spring rolls. I ordered the Pho Tai Bo Vien a/sliced beef & meat balls (small portion to maintain my young boyish figure NOT) & a side of shrimp spring rolls (both yummy). The spring rolls came w/peanut sauce & the Pho bowls came w/a generous portion of Thai Basil, bean sprouts & jalapeño pepppers. The food and the service were outstanding. We will be back again as I said the menu selection is overwhelming there are so many options. CHECK OUT THE MENU & THEIR ALL THE OPTIONS read more

To bad if LD Pho closed down This was my first time going to a Vietnamese restaurant and the experience was existential to say the least I did have the beef for which is my standard order in a Vietnamese establishment sorry to see if they're gone. I'll go and see soon. read more

This was delivery, first time, so restaurant might be better. Salt and pepper squid and Spring roll for $40. Squid was very tough. Spring roll had a shrimp cut in half and not much flavor. Nothing was bad, just underwhelming. read more

After a long day, LD Pho was the perfect spot for a quick Vietnamese dinner. It's situated comfortably in Albany Park sandwichwd between a variety of restaurants and stores. There were 3 of us and my daughter 1 of 2 is a vegetarian. This is a great spot for vegetarians as they have numerous options. I ordered a traditional beef pho...which was so good. The broth had a hint of sweetness but was also very savory and flavorful. The service was awesome. There was only one guy, but he was very attentive despite having other customers. The ambiance was simple, not romantic nor divey. Very traditional Chicago small restaurant. read more

I have been curious about this Vietnamese spot for a while, mainly because of the various shrimp wrapped in meat dishes they have. So when my friend and I were looking for a place to eat in the area, I finally got to check this place off my list. I was torn between trying the shrimp wrapped in bacon vs beef and I ended up with the shrimp wrapped in beef. It was good but not Amazing, and I don't feel the need to try this place again. My friend felt similarly about what she ordered. Not sure if it's because we did takeout. read more

Came here based off reviews and found it to be good, but nothing amazing. Ordered a bowl of pho and the broth was lacking that cinnamony aroma that I'm used to. It was a little basic. My partner ordered bun Bo hue and said it was decent. The service was good though - our server kept coming back to refill out water. I don't know. Good, but was expecting more and the bowl of pho just wasn't it. read more

Even though it's not hard to find pho, most pho uses beef or chicken broth. It's not as easy to find vegetarian friendly pho, but there's lots of places where you can get it. LD Pho is one of these. Good prices for a pretty large bowl of noodles and protein. The broth is kind of bland, which is the only complaint, but it helps with a touch of seasoning. Among the best foods for cool weather is pho in a bowl. It just does something good. The weather was pretty cool for this time of year. Luckily this place wasn't far. We stopped in and got a couple bowls of the Pho Chay, which is vegan. It's $13 for a pretty big ass bowl. This has basil, bean sprouts, jalapeños, mushrooms, and tofu. Bowls only come in the one size, meaning there likely will be leftovers. The broth was kind of too much like water, and needed a little seasoning from the hot sauce and peppers. Good place to get some tasty broth. It's close to the Kedzie Brown Line station in Albany Park. The inside is pretty small, so most people get takeout. read more

I eat or order my Pho exclusively from them at LEAST once per month. Their food is amazing and the service is impeccable. The aroma of the Pho Tai is both mouth watering and soothing to the senses. The thin beef shanks is perfect with the steak sauce for dipping. And they truly cater to their customers. My husband and I are always greeted with warmth, served swiftly, and satisfied. read more

Street parking available that is free at certain times/days. Dined in on a Sunday for lunch. No wait or appt needed. Table sizes for 2-4 people. Food (7.5/10): Overall food was good - average to above average - pho broth was relatively standard, maybe on the slightly lighter/less aromatic side. Otherwise the pho was standard and does the job - the spring rolls were great and had a layer of fried egg roll skin inside. Nice touch that I loved. Such a small thing but a game changer. Never had spring rolls with that before - grilled pork and egg rolls with vermicelli noodle bowl were good. The grilled meat was not necessarily the best quality. The egg rolls were good. The fish sauce on the side was a bit heavy on the vinegar flavor. Ambience/service (7.5/10): Standard service. Family vibes with family present in the shop. Very comfortable, casual, low key and wholesome atmosphere that I enjoyed. Value (7/10): Standard value. Expect to spend $20 per person after tax and tip. read more

The girl on the phone has been working there forever and she's the reason I stay loyal besides the food tasting amazing. The best pho in Chicago isn't in Chinatown, nor off argyle, it's here on Kedzie. When I lived in Chicago, I would take the brown line out to treat myself to the most hearty broth you can find in town. Now when I'm visiting from New York, I come to town craving what I can't find out East. The menu has all the standards, and some great bonuses from surrounding cultures. Amazing Thai iced tea and fruit smoothies. The portions of the pho ensures you aren't leaving hungry, but fully satisfied. The staff are so sweet as well. read more

Came here after a night of drinking with my friends who talked highly of it. I think I came in with too high of an expectation because it was slightly disappointing. It just tasted a little too bland for my taste - I guess I'm just used to what I think of good pho to be more flavorful and rich. The meat serving did leave me wanting just a bit more. Overall it is what I would expect from average pho, and was still good for my hangover. read more

It's a nice treat to get some delicious tasting Pho that not too far to get to. There isn't enough or the area has very limited parking and so it would best to with someone so they could sit in the car while you take out the food. It's a smaller place that's relatively clean with about 15 tables although I didn't physically count them. I was greeted by a nice and friendly person when we picked up the food. It's a very welcoming place. There have a straight forward way to know who has placed the order. There is too many variety of foods on the online menu that I wasn't sure what to exactly order. I kinda went with my 'gut' feeling and tried the same dishes we had in the past. I tried to look at the menu online and got a little lost since I am not too familiar with the names. It would be good to have pictures next to the names. The food itself has a pleasant taste and great tasting with nice aromatic flavors; it's better than other Pho places. It was the first time as a visit and our family will be glad to visit this place again. Check out my other reviews and smash the thumbs up button below if you like my suggestions. We started off with some appetizers- fresh shrimp spring rolls, pork egg rolls, and chicken dumplings. All three came with their own sauces and they were delicious. I ordered a steak sandwich, Bahn Mi, which was good however it could use a couple of extra ounces of steak. Then came the Bu Bo Hue, which is one of their specialty pho's. I added all of the greens and toppings that it came with and it was a hearty, filling, and delicious pho. It wasn't spicy at all so I added some sriracha to liven it up. As for this restaurant, it is a small cozy place, which wasn't too busy on a Friday night. There were plenty of open seats available when we arrived. Everything was delicious and I left feeling warm and incredibly full. read more

The food and service here is great. The sliced beef pho is so flavorful. The size of the spring rolls is huge. I also ordered the Thai iced tea, which wasn't too sweet and was just the right amount of cinnamon taste. The lady with the arm tattoo was super nice and the food came in so quickly. I would definitely come here again! read more

Great food. I ordered the spring rolls and they were delicious! Also, the beef pho. I recommend!

We had phở. The broth was Luke warm and tasteless. It didn't have that rich beef bone broth that phở should have. Because it wasn't hot, the noodles wasn't soft enough. The sliced beef was chewy. The spring roll was better than phở but very tiny. read more

Rosa J. and family are soon leaving Albany Park for another Chi-town neighborhood. What she will miss the most is many quality restaurants on Kedzie near the Brown Line station. It was my first time at LD pho, but surely it won't be my last visit. Hubby, Daddy J., and Mama J. spoke positively on LD pho based on their experience. The season change has been in favor of the consumption of pho. A large bowl of Pho tai no vien (beef slice and meat ball soup) sounded like a plan. We began our meal with the Vietnamese iced coffee with milk ($4.00, as of 10/06/2015). I had to say they were pretty fantastic! I tasted a hint of nutmeg, and the sugar level was executed appropriately. Although the price of a large pho was on a higher side ($9.00), I was delighted with the flavor of broth here. I don't claim to be a connoisseur of Vietnamese pho, but I have started to develop a standard on a bowl of good pho. The "pho tai no vien" at LD pho this evening was yet the best one I've had so far. Hubby, on the other hand, ordered the sweet & sour tofu. He said he preferred the vegetarian pho he had last time. Our taste of Vietnam tonight came to $28 and some change. The service was friendly. It might be a minute detail and I happened to notice it. The owner stepped "aside" to refill our water without interrupting our conversations. After he was done with refilling, he politely "re-set" our glasses to the original positions. Even though we didn't really have any question on the menu, I overheard that he enthusiastically answered other patrons' questions. I could tell that he took pride for his work. LD Pho is located one (1) north from the CTA Kedzie Brown Line station. Miss the Red Line to Argyle where the "Little Vietnam" is? I believe LD pho is just as competitive as the ones one can find in Uptown. read more
