I'm a new customer of Almstead within the past few months and could not be happier with their…read moreservice and my overall experience. As a new homeowner one of our concerns was a clearly visible dead tree, which was over 30 feet tall and leaning against another tree nearby. My new neighbors dubbed this the widow maker and refused to walk or park their cars nearby for fear of it falling. After calling Almstead we made an appointment for arborist Matt to come out and render an opinion. He was kind enough to walk our entire property (approximately half an acre) and render an opinion on all of our trees, pointing out several other dead trees and those that could benefit from pruning. He was patient to answer our questions and concerns, and even spoke to some neighbors the same day regarding their trees. After receiving a quote the same day, Matt was flexible to prioritize those items that we were ready to move forward with and did not push us to pay for those items that we didn't want to do. Several weeks later Matt and the team (Antonio, Javier, Luis) came back to take down two trees and trim two others. It was clear that safety was a top priority of theirs, and they took the time to clean up the yard before leaving. Several months later, a very large limb fell off one of those trees that was pruned, so we called Matt back out to take a closer look. He reinspected the tree, identified what seemed to be the culprit, and assured us that the tree is safe. He even took the time to take a closer look at spots on my lawn where I suspected a fungus was developing, identifying the problem as chinch bugs (never heard of them before). All-in-all, I would highly recommend Matt and the team out of the Hawthorne office. They're down to earth, will address your concerns, and won't try to steal your money with needless projects. We will definitely be calling them back in a few years for another round of tree pruning. Thanks Matt, Antonio, Javier, & Luis!

Jason and I go back a long way and he did me a favor coming to my house tho I am a considerable distance away. I appreciate that. So with that I will touch on the bad review he got. Because he cannot defend himself. First, Jason didn't own the company at the time. Second, he was on his honeymoon and the customer, wouldn't respect his time with his wife. So take her review with a grain of salt. What happened to common decency and respect? The man is on his honeymoon. Does he not have the right to spend that time with his wife? I know I wouldn't go hounding someone with demands on their honeymoon. Sorry but I do not think her review is fair. Jason has a lot of knowledge and great vision. I am proud to see how far he has come. He works day and night. What more can I say about him? Since I have known him, which is over 30 years, he has always been a hard worker. So for him to do me the favor he did today, I completely respect and appreciate immensely. My gf, who was married to a landscaper said she was very impressed. And she never says that with anyone. So I take her word over anyone's. If she is happy, that is all I need to know. Call Jason, he will do what is right and do right by you the customer. You won't regret it.
