Tirelessly, they worked the day into the evening helping to pack and move us to our new space a few miles away. The quote was less than anticipated. Our cash payment was received with a significant ($150) discount; something to be considered. Our furniture - heavy, tall, solid wood furnishings were taken from our old space, transported and delivered exactly to where we desired them in our new place without a scratch or dent to them or the areas they were moved through. What could be disassembled was disassembled, and reassembled perfectly. They took two very short breaks during this multi-hour job, and so did we! The ultimate price point again was very reasonable. There were a lot of things broken we noticed right away. Once we started unpacking we realized we were missing lots of expensive items and noticed a lot of broken items too. The company sent us a claims link, and we uploaded photos and descriptions, and they sent someone to estimate the damage to our hot tub, then months later asked for the claim info again and we were out of state for several months due to family and then to covid, and now they claim they aren't covering any of our claims. We also had a truck they transported and upon getting that out of storage they provided us with a claim form notating the damage that was done to it, and now they're not covering that because they claim that claim form - that they provided, wasn't a valid claim form! This company hires people that don't care for , and clearly misplace or outright take your items . Then they don't back up with paying out your claim even. When you've paid for the insurance!! Now we have to waste more time and money and go to court with this company! I DO NOT RECOMMEND!

Then his wife came to get paid and she was hostile and demanding. I told her we needed to discuss the fact that we had items missing and she pointed to 2 tall boxes and rudely said "you aren't unpacked" I replied that we had opened the boxes and replaced the items in the boxes and the silverware was not in either box. She demanded payment, I handed her the check and she stormed off shouting for us to never contact them and that she HOPED MY DOG GOT SICK! They packed the rooms that have items missing, a huge set of good silver, a credit card that was just received and still in the envelope with things in our desk, a big three ring binder type check book as well as other contents in the desk. My tote bag that contained personal items, think purse, is also missing. Why would they even think I would want them to move that? When I mentioned it to the wife her rely was "if it was in the office and they were packing the office they had a right to move it." We had other issues with them, they used an excessive amount of paper, which made more boxes and then charged more than the contract. When I say excessive I mean 20 to 30 sheets of paper in the bottom of the box, 6 full size sheets per light bulb, multiple sheets on Tupperware, and 20 to 40 sheets on top of the items in each box. Every box items were wrapped in excess. The other issue is they did not put down runners the day they packed and my light colored carpet is filthy, it did not have black streaks on the edges of the steps and the back of each step where their feet hit it, overall the carpet is very dirty and it was not before they packed. They packed on Sept.15 and moved us the next day. All boxes have been opened and these items are not here. They will not return our calls or text. When all a man can say in response to our concerns is that he has been in business for 34 years I think he has more ego than knowledge. Patriot Moving Systems caught my attention so I called them to get more information. I talked with Dennis to get answers to my questions. He told me they are full service, meaning they will pack as well as move your household contents. You also have the option to do your own packing. One place I called pretty much only loads and moves your stuff so you have to do your own packing. Patriot sells boxes and packing materials but also suggested Home Depot or Lowe's but said he actually prefers and recommends getting these from U-Haul as he thinks theirs are better quality and sturdier. What I like is the way Dennis explained our options without overly promoting materials through Patriot. He also explained the rates for their services. Basically it is an hourly rate per person plus a trip charge and cost of the truck usage. He came out and walked through or house and then was able to give us a rough estimate of the number of hours we would likely need. We planned to use a staging company so we needed to pack some things to thin out certain areas like closets and kitchen countertops. So we arranged for Patriot to send out three people to box and move things into the garage for three hours and that was a big help. They were focused and hard working guys who went practically non-stop for the time scheduled. Whenever there was a question about packing certain items they asked about it. I could tell that they all knew what they were doing, their experience showed and they treated our things as if they were theirs. Delicate items were wrapped well for protection. Our move is currently on hold as we continue to pursue selling our home but Dennis checks in with me periodically to see how things are going. I will update this review once we actually complete our move but we know who we trust with packing and moving our property.

If my next move is out of pocket (and local), I'd hire Power Moving again. Herman, Julius and Chris are 3 hard working men who overlooked the fact that we weren't completely finished packing and got right to work and didn't stop until the job was done. Quote Process...quick and easy. Timeliness...Cornelius called the day before to confirm and said they'd be there between 7:30 and 9:30 and would call 30 minutes ahead of time. They arrived around 9, but without the phone call, they didn't have my phone number. Loading...Like I said earlier, the 3-man crew came in and got right to work. There was a lot of stuff in my 2 BR apartment, if they would have had a bigger truck, they probably could have made it in one trip, but 2 were required. Fortunately, I moved less than 5 miles down the street, so it didn't add too much time. Unloading...The unload always goes quicker than the load. They put the boxes in the correct rooms, set up my dining room table, and put the beds together. They forgot to put my mirror back on my dresser, which I didn't notice until after they were long gone, so I couldn't remind them they missed it. Overall...Power Moving made a very long day much easier. There a few items that I didn't realize were left in the apartment that I would have asked them to take, but as I said in the beginning, if my next local move is at my expense, Power Moving would be my first choice. They're competitively priced, hard working and they take care when loading/unloading your stuff.

I spoke to Clarence who identified himself not as the owner but as the manager (more on that…read morelater). The initial Red Flag was during the conversation I mentioned the need for certain documentation from him to go forward (Basically licensing information, and Insurance Information) as asking for a Certificate of Insurance (COI) is INDUSTRY STANDARD for a move like this. I received IMMEDIATE Push Back and was told that I didnt need said information and that I could get his licensing and bonding information from LARA (Michigan Licensing And Regulatory Affaris) which I did: [Federal License: They hold a valid federal license under USDOT #2303845] and their other license [They are registered as a domestic profit corporation in Michigan (ID: 800705051)] What i couldn't get is Bonding and or the COI ...which i need to protect ny inventory and myself from damage, and or loss. As I said this is Industry standard. I explained this to Clarence and was told that I would recieve that information at a later time after further discussions. Fast forward I talked to Clarence yesterday to confirm that he would recieve an inventory list by no later than close of Business today 5/8/2026 !! He's assured me at the time of our last phone call that that was suitable. We stayed late into the evening yesterday creating an itemized inventory list for Clarence.....only to be told today that he couldn't do it because he has another big move scheduled for "The Government" i dont know how true this is but I find it highly suspicious that 1) he did t call this morning to let us know that he couldn't complete the move which most assuredly could be the case......but in the name of professionalism and the time we have spent on the phone wouldn't it be standard to let us know? Secondly in MY OPINION I think he didnt like the verbiage that was used in the inventory email j. That it specifically asked again for the COI, and ending information as is STANDARD in this business. in our first conversation he told me that he had never been asked for that type of information before and I explained to him at that point, that when doing business with multi million dollar businesses you have to do everything right, he then went kn to tell me how many rich people from the lions and mentioned doing a move for the Taubman estate etc....which is fine but asking for a COI is standard......I feel as if Clarence is operating without being Bonded or without the proper insurance to protect not only the belongings of my company but of anybody he is moving. Again this is my opinion based off of my conversations with him and his subversive responses. He may very well have these very important documents and insurance im not saying that he doesn't what I am saying is that people need to be careful. He has cause me to lose valuable time. I did however call another moving company who gave me without question the documents that I asked for and I am looking forward to this move albeit at a higher price than expected. I would simply like to remind Mr. Clarence (Still dont know why he didnt identify himself as the owner instead of making it appear as he was someone else employed there) thay doing good business is paramount to being g considered great in the business world I own a Mortage company and a Real Estate Brokerage the referrals alone could have netted you a an upwards of six additional figures a year... but you moved Mr. Taubman so maybe you didnt need the business we could have thrown your way. Clarence Joe Nelson lied on his 'friend' who had no involvement and who I trust runs a reputable business. Unsure why Clarence Joe Nelson has to specify his friend's race as that should not be an issue in friendship, in business or in the world in general. As importantly, friends should not tell lies on friends. Clarence Joe Nelson, you know your 'friend' did not say what you alleged he said. Respect that man and keep his good name out of your bad mouth. Update--same day! I'm so glad that Clarence Joe Nelson is now confessing all of his lies. Perhaps he is not a hopeless case??? As long as he was overcharging me, being a bully and just outright lying while doing a money grab each month, there was no problem. Clarence Joe Nelson has written a lot that can be distracting and a bit humorous. The fact is that he was paid for a job, did it improperly and lied about it. At no time did he have permission to leave my property in a moving truck. Perhaps this is special service for friends and family? It seems he's told so many lies that he's believing them himself. Rather than resolving this matter, he digs his heels deeper into the mire of his own creation, all while attempting to sully the good name of those he 'loves'. What CJN is driven by is avarice, false pride, and an unhallowed disregard for the truth and righteous behavior. He awakens to spew lies from his mouth and to manipulate and bully anyone who he can--especially if you happen to be a woman. Doing what is right and just is a foreign concept to him. It shouldn't be, because he was taught better. I know he was. He has chosen to secure himself in a house of lies that is impervious only to the truth. Yes, I am a doctor as CJN keeps emphatically stating. However, my area of expertise is not in diagnosing those with serious mental challenges. As Clarence Joe Nelson continues to post in this format, certainly several diagnoses for which I really think he needs to seek treatment do come to mind. I chuckle when thinking that the last time I encountered anyone who could match Clarence Joe Nelson in lying was when I was in I was in 8th grade. Perhaps CJN is still there mentally. I've posted a pix of a text from CJN (dated 9/02/2025) confessing that he has kept my medical items in his truck--not in storage. As indicated, I paid 710/month for one year then a minimum of $1000/mo for 13 months up thru 7/2025 only to find out CJN lied about having my items in storage. We are in agreement on one matter--he should feel stupid because stupid is as stupid does. When a business owner has the audacity to cheat a customer and then attempt to disparage their reputation, that's a really, really stupid move. Update 10/07/2025: Unfortunately this issue has not been resolved, but has deteriorated. My personal and professional property is now being held hostage and the owner, Clarence Joe Nelson, is making threats of taking some unreasonable action against me although he is 100% in the wrong and admitted he did not fulfill the contract---I've got proof if anyone is interested. Freedom of information is a good thing. I'm gagged at the fact that at the time of my move, I rewarded the owner with a hefty $$$ tip. He deserves the 2025 "SHAME ON YOU AWARD"! Requested packing up my medical office and home items and storage of all items in a climate controlled environment. The home packing went well. The office pack up was unsupervised and many items were left. I had to hire another mover to pack and store the remaining items. I've been paying a hefty price over the past 24 months to store my items, only to have the owner of Top Notch, Clarence Joe Nelson, disclose to me that he never off loaded my medical office equipment into storage, but has kept them on his moving truck all this time. That is a Bottom Rung thing for a business to do!!! If anyone is interested, I've got receipts of every payment I've made and text messages from the owner admitting that my items have not been properly stored. This is so DISTRESSING.
