As I am sitting upstairs, Rich's foul odor permeated upstairs. I put a mask on, and I called Stanley Steamers and reported this. I asked Rich to please leave immediately. He felt it necessary to come upstairs and talk to me...TWICE! Did you miss the part of me having to wear a mask and explaining to you that I appreciate what you've done but you need to leave immediately? The manager offered to bring a machine to clean the air out and blamed me for not requesting a non-smoker! I don't see anywhere on the website, a box to check for me to request a non-smoker! Second-hand smoke is extremely dangerous and everyone knows this. Shame on you! The manager claims that he wanted to make it right, and that Rich should be paid for cleaning part of the sofa. ARE YOU GOING TO PAY MY EXPENSES FOR HAVING TO GET THIS HOUSE FREE OF RICHE'S STENCH AND FOR ME TO STAY SOMEWHERE UNTIL I CAN LIVE IN MY OWN HOME? That is not making it right. Shame on you and I hope that someday, you understand the meaning of lung disease and stop blaming your customers and take full responsibility!

My first call went to voicemail, and he returned my call while I was leaving a voicemail message. On March 24, 2026, Zach and Craig came to our 1850 sf home to clean all the carpeting. They arrived on time and got right to work, bringing in their equipment carefully and putting corner guards in place throughout the house. One of the first things I noticed was the pleasant scent - it is very light and does not smell like chemicals. My usual preference is for no scent, but I found myself preferring this delicate scent. They were efficient and quick (but not too quick!), and the carpets looked very clean when they were through. The price is one of the most reasonable I have found in Reno and includes a military discount (thank you, Zach, for your patriotism!). Fresh Start is fairly new to our area, but not new to the business of cleaning flooring. We look forward to trying their tile cleaning service next. If you need your carpets cleaned, I feel confident recommending Fresh Start Carpet Care.

I thought they would steam clean the spots but all they did was use a spray bottle and towel to try to touch up. Seemed very lazy way to me like they didn't want to drag out the equipment again.
