What I received was seasoned ground beef and onions on a bun with a single pickle and a squirt of mustard. That's literally all it was. I took two bites and couldn't finish it. I understand it's a regional specialty, but it wasn't something I enjoyed at all. I also ordered a chocolate shake. It tasted more like vanilla ice cream with chocolate syrup added than a properly blended chocolate shake. The syrup wasn't mixed evenly, so most of what I tasted was chocolate syrup. The service was okay--I'd give it about a 3 out of 5. The food came out in a reasonable amount of time, and the staff was friendly enough. Overall, I'm glad I can say I experienced it, but I definitely wouldn't make the drive from Omaha again for it. In fact, even if I lived nearby, I don't think I'd come back. The old-school atmosphere was the highlight of the visit, but for me, the food didn't live up to the hype.

The piece I got was clearly towards the end. The food wasn't bad, but it wasn't great. I'm all about supporting small business but was it worth the hour drive each way and almost double the price of Texas Roadhouse? No. Also be prepared that because it's a small town the other clientele are more concerned about the strangers at their steakhouse than they are their own meal. Only one server for the dining room we were in.
