    Brisket

Really good barbecue in Le Mars! Brisket was super lean and cooked perfectly, and the potato salad was really good as well. Prices were reasonable, service was quick and friendly, and the interior was well decorated and clean. Visit and put your pin in the visitor map after checking out the Wells Visitor Center!

There are probably better options if you are stopping for lunch prior to a stop at the Blue Bunny visitor center. They were very nice about replacing our sandwiches wheN we noticed mold on the buns, but the prices seemed high. One of the two bathrooms was closed and the other seemed to be locked the whole time we were there, which was worrisome

We shared 1/4 lb each of the brisket, pulled pork, house-made sausage and chicken with Mac & cheese and beans on the side

I was in Le Mars briefly for work and noticed this place as I was leaving town. Since my family and I love to seek out good barbecue we drove 2.5 hours to check it out and it was 100% worth the trip! The brisket melts in your mouth and the chicken was to die for, although it was all good! We'll be back!

I paid almost $20 for a meal and there was mold on my sandwich bun. Good thing I caught it otherwise I would've been eating that.... I hope you didn't serve moldy bread to anybody else! Do better!

Just passing through and decided to stop here for lunch. Wow. So glad we did. We had the pulled pork sandwich, the brisket sandwich and fries. All were excellent and made to order. The Texas heat sauce was our favorite. The brisket was smooth as budda.

1/4lbs. Of brisket and Pulled Pork

So I'm always excited try bbq all over the country . From the exterior I want this place to score well.. it's in a great location and relatively pleased to see the efforts that went into the decor. Well, I was greeted with the lackadaisical young men behind the counter. They could careless for a conversation or words period. Anyway I ordered a 1/4 of each brisket and pulled pork. So there was little to no smoke noticed in flavor for either meat. Maybe a really mild wood? Brisket was plenty tender and moist just lacked much in the flavor realm. Pork I didn't finish as it just tasted like pork zero seasoning. The bbq baked beans were fair to compete with any baked bean. Potato salad was my favorite thing on the tray. As for bbq sauces the Texas Heat appears to have had cumin and black pepper dumped in it for "heat". The other two sauces were sweet & super sweet. The meal cost me $38 dollars. I'll give it a 1.3 out of 10.

Decent bbq. Came here after the lunch rush but food was hot and service was friendly. Worth a stop

This place was recommended from a friend. The pulled pork was absolutely delicious. The fries were well seasoned. The cornbread was really good. I am taking a star off because everything is overpriced, but other than that I enjoyed my meal

Good bbq. Only open limited time so always check. You can spend some cash quick, but worth it.

When we were there yesterday, a woman told me she drives from Ponca just for their barbecue and walked out with a whole tray full of ribs. It's that good. Make sure to watch their Facebook page for updates on when they will be open and when they are sold out for the day. They also will give you a preview of what the menu is for the day and what is upcoming. I hear the seafood that they do is amazing. I can't wait to be there for that sometime. The decor and vibe of the restaurant was well done. Updated and well decorated. The waitress seemed put out we were there, unfortunately she was training another waitress, continuing to train the same bad habits. We had to wait about 10 minutes between each visit she paid to our table. There were a few times I had to get her attention or find her because she kept walking by our table without stopping or acknowledging us. The food looked good and tasted...okay. My wife got pulled pork which was not fresh. It was obviously re-heated from a prior day. Had a weird aftertaste. The best things were the buffalo spring roll appetizer and the milkshakes. The waitress did discount our order due to our dissatisfaction with the food. This was good customer service. The dirty trays were never removed from our table. The trainee could've easily done this since she was hanging out at the bar talking for most of the time. This isn't necessarily her fault. This is a training and management issue. This place should be packed every day it's open. It was less than half full when we were there for dinner. This is probably due to the bad things we experienced. Management needs to step up. You're robbing yourselves, your employees, your owner and your community of something good.

The two terrific places I'd normally recommend are both gone. Think of the Roadhouse as the new man standing and standing only because there isn't much else standing around it! Food is average to above average. Average selection of beer and wine. The service and staff are the weak links in the chain, and, ultimately, why I couldn't give this place a more than 'average' review. The 'bartenders' are anything but. I was a bartender and server for years. The female staff of this place are lazy and more interested in gossip than in their customers. The male members of the staff were busy throughout and seemed much more attentive to their job than worried about anything not related to it. Good for them! I wish one of the men here would have been my bartender rather than the two women who didn't know what Tabasco sauce is or the one who told me that they "just don't have a need to have it!" You're a bar/restaurant and you don't have a need for Tabasco sauce!? If it weren't so sad and true this would be comedic! Bottom line: I'd not go out of my way to come here again. I could recommend many other places to go to in or near this neck of the woods. The Roadhouse is doomed for failure on its current course of mediocrity in both food and service. It thrives now because there is not much else for competition. Once a new player arrives that offers excellent food, outstanding service and a truly welcoming atmosphere the Roadhouse is sure to find itself as a relic left in the dust rather than a prosperous and sought after place to satisfy even the most modest foodie. If I were the Roadhouse owner I'd heed warning and get first your staff under control and go from there. If not, they will surely be the iceberg to your Titanic.

It has a retail element, operating from a store front with a single picnic table outside for seating. But there is also a food truck outside the door, which anchors a catering business that goes beyond wedding and business functions to servicing sports events on campus. It should be emphasized that this is also a seasonal operation, with limited hours and a limited menu (Thursdays from 4 to 7 PM as we finish up September). The smoker works on a combination of corn cobs and hickory. We laid out $74 for a rack of ribs (14 bones), a half pound of chopped brisket, and double rations of baked beans, cheesy potatoes, and coleslaw. Even with the current rate of inflation, this struck us as pricey, especially because the value was uneven. Both meats were well prepared, in the sense of being moist and tender, but both lacked smoke. The brisket was noticeably salty, enough for us to advise those on a salt restricted diet to tread cautiously here. Happily, the rib meat had terrific taste in its own right; they serve it sauced, so if you want to have it dry, specify this when your order. As for the sides, the potatoes and baked beans were unremarkable, but the coleslaw is superb, and we strongly recommend that you try it with the ribs.

As I filled up we happened to see the signs near the road and the signs on the building of the old station building boasting of brisket, ribs, pulled pork and more. About that same time a fella wearing overalls stepped out the front door of the shop looked at us as we were refueling our truck and waved at us being friendly. Thinking that it was lunch time and that we were getting hungry that friendly wave sealed the deal. After we refueled the truck we pulled over next door and went inside where we met "Cowboy" our cashier and cook and was immediately welcomed in. After looking at the menu wall and asking our questions we settled on a BBQ Burrito and a Train Wreck grilled sandwich with sides. (next time I'm trying the pork nachos!) When the food came out Cowboy brought us both their original bbq sauce as well as their special Habanero Mango sauce of the week. Let me tell you, this was some of the best BBQ I've had in ages and being from Des Moines there are plenty of places in the metro to choose from but none compared to this little shop. This food was AMAZING. I'm surprised the location didn't have standing room only because if this place was better known about there wouldn't be an empty seat in the house! This is like Correctionville's greatest best kept secret! You've got to try this! The only bad thing about this experience was the realization that Des Moines where I live is nearly three hours away!
