I travel quite often for work. Work found me near this place, and I randomly walked in during lunch. I have two go-to BBQ joints in the US. One is in Houston, a place called The Pit Room. The other is outside of Baton Rouge, a place called Couyon's. I'm adding Iowa BBQ to that list. This place was fantastic, I could have made a meal off of the Smoked Jalapeno Poppers alone. Only complaint, and I'm Southern now, I NEED some fresh sweet tea in there!!! read more

Iowa Barbeque - Pulled Pork, jalapeño Sausage Links, Potato Salad, Jalepeno Poppers - Barbeque Near Me - Le Mars, Iowa

After having a late supper there (around 7:30), my group wanted to go back for lunch the next to try some other menu items. The ribs are some of the most tender and meaty I have ever had. The burnt ends are a must! The cornbread is delicious, soft and warm and served with honey butter. I want to go back to LeMars just to eat here. read more

There are probably better options if you are stopping for lunch prior to a stop at the Blue Bunny visitor center. They were very nice about replacing our sandwiches wheN we noticed mold on the buns, but the prices seemed high. One of the two bathrooms was closed and the other seemed to be locked the whole time we were there, which was worrisome read more

Really good barbecue in Le Mars! Brisket was super lean and cooked perfectly, and the potato salad was really good as well. Prices were reasonable, service was quick and friendly, and the interior was well decorated and clean. This is horrible! So I have been dieing to go here for a year since I heard of it and read their talks about how good they are I have not found 1 place in the Midwest including cookoffs that have good BBQ. We finally are in the area so we get there there's yelling and screaming we can here in our car as we pull up. It's the same when we get inside. We stand at the counter for at least 5 mins before finally to teens maybe 15 or 16 show up to take orders. I ordered the Big ole platter $69 and a $5 piece of cornbread I threw the second tray away check the pic I posted with the meat bit off. Trat was full. Lets break this down the kid didn't tell the other what I ordered so we got small tray side while everyone else got the pints I asked if it was a pint in that tray he looked dumbfounded at the other kid and said nothing. Food: Cornbread so sticky and chewy it stuck to my teeth tasted like cake, while we ate I kept getting a rotted meat smell. Couldn't figure it out. I tasted the potatoe salad, so did the wife it tasted like it had dish soap in it. Burnt ends tastes literally burned and candied and cold! Mac and cheese was ok, next the chicken it was fairly good. Brisket dry even though it was greasy as could be and it smelled like old meat over the smoke the wife said it was tasted like a crockpot it did. The sausage he basically air fired in front of me was actually decent good flavor. Pulled pork was dry and crockpot flavor as well. The turkey was good as well except the end piece was dry. Went back for for brisket to see what was going on I picked up the stack of meat and the wife gagged the bad meat smell hit her hard when I moved the brisket. We dumped everything and left since kids were running the show and no where to be found I couldn't complain. I will never go back here and do not recommend even just for the chicken or sausage. Look for my pics. Also we felt sick all the way home! Forgot to mention the ribs had the same old meat smell as well like it had just started to go bad! read more

So I'm always excited try bbq all over the country . From the exterior I want this place to score well.. it's in a great location and relatively pleased to see the efforts that went into the decor. Well, I was greeted with the lackadaisical young men behind the counter. They could careless for a conversation or words period. Anyway I ordered a 1/4 of each brisket and pulled pork. So there was little to no smoke noticed in flavor for either meat. Maybe a really mild wood? Brisket was plenty tender and moist just lacked much in the flavor realm. Pork I didn't finish as it just tasted like pork zero seasoning. The bbq baked beans were fair to compete with any baked bean. Potato salad was my favorite thing on the tray. As for bbq sauces the Texas Heat appears to have had cumin and black pepper dumped in it for "heat". The other two sauces were sweet & super sweet. The meal cost me $38 dollars. I'll give it a 1.3 out of 10. read more

I was in Le Mars briefly for work and noticed this place as I was leaving town. Since my family and I love to seek out good barbecue we drove 2.5 hours to check it out and it was 100% worth the trip! Brought my elderly father here for lunch. I had the pulled pork sandwich and mac and cheese. Both were excellent. The Carolina mustard sauce was crazy good. Dad had a brisket sandwich and potato salad. Both were excellent. I tried the molasses BBQ sauce with the brisket and it was delightful. The woman behind the counter was friendly and helpful. The only knock was the menu seemed overly complicated to me. After looking at it for awhile, I finally told the counter person I was just looking for a sandwich and a side. She then explained the menu to me. I had to order for my father, who would still be trying to figure it out. The menu had to be explained to the couple ahead of us and the two couples after us. All in all, the food was excellent, the atmosphere was good and the service was excellent. Should be busier than it was. read more

I paid almost $20 for a meal and there was mold on my sandwich bun. Good thing I caught it otherwise I would've been eating that.... I hope you didn't serve moldy bread to anybody else! Do better! read more

Homemade home town food. We were served by the proud father of one of the owners. Fall off the bone ribs. Mac and cheese better than you would make yourself at home. Home made amazing pickled carrots and cukes are a free garnish that are so good they are a reason to return all on their own. Plan ahead for this road stop then take a stroll around town and visit the Blue Bunny welcome center. By the time you see it all you will be ready for use cream. read more

Iowa Barbeque - Ribs, Mac/Mac N' Cheese, Beans, Cornbread & Jalapeño poppers - Barbeque Near Me - Le Mars, Iowa

Food and atmosphere is amazing. I wish it was open year round. Service has always been excelent.

The location seems great. I'm sure in the summer the patio is cool and the smells must be crazy but it's not worth the super expensive price. The sides are robbery, it was 5 or 6 dollars for a scoop of mac and cheese. The meat itself was good though even if they didn't have any of their "featured item" which was kinda disappointing. The cornbread was soaked and practically a dessert. The sweet tea was atrocious. I dumped it and went for just fountain lemonade. You always should try a place once but this was pretty mediocre. read more

FINALLY! We finally got some good barbeque from a brick and mortar! Not just good barbeque, but phenomenal barbeque! My wife was on call on Rig 1 in Le Mars yesterday, so I didn't want to risk grilling up some steaks and having her called out. So, after doing some laundry, we stopped byIowa Barbeque has the best brisket in Siouxland and last night was no joke! I specifically asked for the ends of the brisket and got a whole tray of them. Just look at that smoke ring! If that doesn't make you drool, nothing will! They were so juicy and succulent that I ate myself into a food coma! This brisket easily stays at the top of my list for best brisket in all of Siouxland!Hands down the best barbeque I've had in months!Iowa Barbequehas really stepped up their game! They did some tweaking to the ribs and a few of their sides and it shows! I've always saidIowa Barbeque last night were spot on! The meat was nice and tender with the perfect smoke ring. There was just the right combination of saltiness and smoke flavor. The meat pulled off of the bone with ease, yet it did not just fall off. You've seen me bitch about "fall off the bone" ribs. Those are overcooked! These ribs were cooked spot on! Each bite pulled off with ease. They ate like ribs should eat! No fork was needed! The bone is the utensil and each one was clean when done. Best brick and mortar ribs in Siouxland, hands down! When at a barbeque joint, you also have to get ribs. The ribs we got fromIowa Barbeque for Mac N' Cheese for lunch. My wife just kept saying over and over that when she is on call in Le Mars that she sees herself just stopping intoIowa Barbeque comes in a close 2nd! I like my beans like my wife likes her Mac N' Cheese. The beans last night had big chunks of meat in them giving them both great flavor and a wonderful texture! They are a true Texas Style baked bean. They pack a little heat, so if you can't do spicy, you're going to want to steer clear. But, if you're like me and like a little kick, these beans are awesome!Kylie Q's BBQhas my favorite beans in Siouxland. However,Iowa Barbeque . Good bbq. Only open limited time so always check. You can spend some cash quick, but worth it.

What a find!! Stopped here before going to Blue Bunny. Two of us ordered brisket, then the server offered us a sample - the rest of us ordered brisket, too. Well spiced, moist and a good value for BBQ. We also had fries and Mac and cheese. The fries were great for trying the different BBQ sauces. The Mac had a creamy sauce with plenty of cheese flavor. The restaurant itself is clean, neat and well decorated. There's a shaded patio for dining if you don't want to sit inside. It was a very good meal! read more

Food was very tasty, portion sizes were adequate. Place looked nice, service was quick.

Iowa Barbecue is leagues ahead of the barbecue in our local surrounding areas including Sioux City. My husband and I ordered a variety of sandwiches including brisket and pulled pork. The meat was so moist with a great smoke flavor and the serving sizes were super generous. I find that most homemade barbecue sauces we've tried at restaurants really lack flavor but we tried both of their sweeter sauces and they were fantastic. Such a depth of flavor in both. We also had the ribs which were really tasty. The sides were great too, I would highly recommend this restaurant if you want great barbecue! read more
