I really like the vibes and beer at Lazy Beach but their food is only mid. They have a mixture of covered and outdoor seating and every time we've visited this place people are mingling and the vibes are fun. The service has always been friendly too. They have a large menu of beers too so it's probably a safe bet that most people would be able to find something that they like. The food is only ok though, it's alright to snack on if you're having a drink but I wouldn't go here for a meal.

I really liked this venue and the selection of beers. The staff were super friendly and helpful. There was plenty of outdoor seating and it's pet friendly, which was a nice bonus. We made it out on a nice overcast day so it was not terribly hot outside. I think my favorite was Lovers on the Surf which was a cherry chocolate vibe. It was like drinking a Valentine. It was so good, we took some to go. This is definitely a nice spot to hit up when you're in the Corpus Christi area.

I love Lazy Beach, the drinks were amazing, I had a frozen root beer and it was awesome. We brought our pet hound dog and he had a blast. But before I talk about that, I have to mention their Veterans Day food truck festival, we came on a day when there was a BBQ food truck called Vasquez drive thru and that is where we got all our food, they had walking tacos and nachos. Their service was friendly and polite, the lady at the front desk was very kind and gave us a bowl of water for our sweet dog. The ambience is warm and cozy, and now I'll tell you about puppy pops, they are frozen chicken broth and heavy cream, and whoever thought of that is genius. It's served in a bowl so it's not very messy, it's all frozen so our dog was busy for a long time while we enjoyed our time there. And lastly the outdoor space is perfect for young kids to play in! Definitely come with your friends if you are looking for a good time. SO much better than the dog park!!!

Finally an actual brewery in Corpus! JK, sort of... this is definitely the best beer and best vibes. The only one that comes close is rebel toad but it's downtown and too cramped. We have gone here several times since moving here and each time we enjoy it more. They have a huge variety of beers to choose from, ample seating inside and out, plus games, a fire pit, and the occasional food truck! They also serve some apps which we've only shared, nothing super memorable but that is part of what makes a brewery great lol. The staff is great, they know what to suggest and they are so chill and efficient. We're only down here for a short time, but this is still our favorite spot, (which I hope carries some weight because as a rule we try not to hit the same place twice). We've sampled around enough, we're happiest with lazy beach. (If I had one critique, it would be to keep the tap list a little more up to date online.)

5 stars easy. I loved this little brewery. I went for my first time on Mother's Day but I was unaware of their Mother's Day brunch. That was a nice treat. I love their tap menu. There's a nice balance between low ABV and high ABV options and they have multiple options for different types of beer. They also had every flavor of seltzer you could want. The staff was friendly and checked us on periodically. They are dog friendly and even brought a water bowl to us. There were fans blowing and somehow there was still a cool draft which made the seating more enjoyable because let's face it, corpus heat can be miserable. I went to another brewery in downtown corpus, and I liked this place 100% more.

super cute and spacious area! lots of benches and room to sit. they have games you can play too :) The food takes awhile to come around 30 mins. Not super wow'ed by the food itself but the beer was good! Lots of variety and good pricing!

I stopped in here during a camping trip to Mustang Island. I'm glad we have GPS functions on our phones, because this was in a part of Corpus Christi that I had never ventured into. One of the roads on the way was blocked for construction, and Siri sent me another way and got me back on track. I was there in the early afternoon not long after it opened. I was the only guest there at first. Within a few minutes, there were about two other tables full of people. There was a food truck, but my plan was to hit a favorite seafood spot for shrimp on the way back to camp. Almost everyone else was getting their orders in. I was told it was a great truck, and I was really missing out. Oh well... I got adventurous and tried two flights of beers. If I remember correctly, they come with three beers each, which is unusual. I particularly liked that they had a beer called Teacher Juice as a tribute to teachers going back to school. It just happened to be the first day back for my friends at the school I retired from, so I drank it in their honor. I waited a long time to write this review for some reason. Fortunately, I am obsessive about recording all of my beers in Untapped. On that visit, I tried Choppy Waters Double IPA, Funky Sea Monkey, Session IPA, Teacher Juice, and Lazy Beach Texas Bock. I enjoyed all of them. If I remember right, my sixth choice wasn't actually a beer. I think it was called a kombacha. I didn't enter it in the app. Anyway, I really enjoyed this little brewery. It will be a place I visit whenever I get to camp at Mustang Island. Hopefully that will be a couple of times per year, now that they reopened after the hurricane tore it up.

We visited a few breweries in the corpus area and overall consensus was lazy beach was our favorite! They offered a lot of creative, delicious beers, and even kombucha! I've never tried kombucha so this was a great place to try it without committing. We were greeted as soon as we came in, and they have tables in a covered area near the bar or picnic tables in the back area as well. I really liked their ordering system. You sit at the table and there's a block that's green on one side and red on the other. If you need something- green! And they'll promptly come take care of you. If you're good- red and they'll give you space to enjoy your delicious drinks. They're dog friendly, kid friendly before 8pm, and offer some great food/drink options with friendly service. Definitely come support this place!

This was a great local brewery in Corpus. It's in an area that looks more like warehouses but it is both a brewery and a cafe. I like hazy or New England IPAs so I was recommended Comet Crush and really enjoyed it. Comet Crush had a clean finish and good hoppy kick. My partner enjoyed the Great White Wit which was a hazy IPA that had a citrus finish. You order your drinks and food in the back outside and then choose any seat you want. The have more seating outside than inside but we were able to find a table inside that was a high top. They have a mix of low and high tops inside and mostly picnic tables outside. If you sit inside, you'll be right next to the open kitchen. I had an avocado and sour cream chicken wrap that was delicious and had lots of fresh veggies. My partner had a turkey Ruben without the sauerkraut that he gobbled up too. Overall the staff were incredibly friendly and the decor was nice and beachy with local art decorating the walls. We had a great experience.

Great beer, terrible food. We've been to hundreds of breweries across the country. Usually the ones that serve food, it's on point. Not here. We got the $30 special. Beer queso, 2 sammys and two pints. The one sandwich had slopped mustard on it. The chips were from a Little league baseball concession stand...and clearly were from the bottom of the bag. Definitely going back for the beer just will eat before we go.

I came to Corpus for a business trip and was looking for a nice place to relax and enjoy a beer and this place is amazing! The staff was super friendly, the selection of beer was outstanding and the food was perfect as well. Can't say enough great things about my experience here! Also, I was extremely excited to see a pumpkin beer on their seasonal menu because I don't see that often and it was the best beer I think I have ever had. I wish I could take a keg back with me when I leave because it was phenomenal! I can't recommend this place enough!

A long time ago I remembered brewers from the now defunct "Lorelei Brewing Company", an excellent…read morebrewery suggested me to check out the "Rebel Toad Brewing." The thing is that they have interesting hours, which made it hard for me to go visit. And my only way of trying their beers has been exclusively, at the bar inside the Hilton Double Tree Hotel. Enter having Valentine's Day on a Friday, which opened up the possibility to finally visit it. One thing about downtown Corpus Christi is that it is small and therefore absolutely no parking is available. Making going to Rebel Toad a bit precarious. We were able to secure a spot in the front before it opened at 3 pm. Having passed by it before I thought it was much bigger but it is small inside. There are a couple of high tables and chairs, accompanied by counter seating. I believe the owners are a couple and they were very friendly. The taplist is seven-ish beers deep. Some places are weary about giving samples. They offered some with recommendations. But me, I opted for a flight. Their beers are good. I did enjoy their "Liquid Haze IPA" but I think it's laid-back vibe close to the beach is what I ultimately appreciated. In addition a really killer playlist of the 80's was in the background. Any place that plays "Depeche Mode" will get my patronage, all day. The parking situation leaves a little to be desired. And I think not having food or at least nearby options might be an issue for some. But not for me. I probably will come back here again. But I'd like to visit here at night. In my city of San Antonio the craft beer scene is a bit inundated at the moment. In my opinion the Corpus Christi craft beer scene is in its infancy and might remain there for awhile. Rebel Toad Brewing can only help build that community. Now if I can only get rid of my fear of the ocean caused by seeing "Jaws." Then again the city is so laid-back back, I'll probably run into him here. And the 1st round will be on him.

So in excited to day we were finally able to visit, and it happened to be first Friday where there were local vendors outside and the had a DJ too. Definitely a solid little brewery in corpus.

In the end we're appalled that there were such bad reviews. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by their brewery and a chalkboard with their current drinks on tap! We were seated immediately and pleased with the ambiance off the bat. I got the cerveza de la flor and my S/O got the sparkling kiss. I was impressed by the beer and she was very happy with her drink! We started with the ceviche fusion and we were skeptical at first. It is delicious on its own however the kitchen did not salt or pepper it seemingly at all. So in order to truly enjoy it you must be bold and salt/pepper it yourself. It brought the ceviche to life and made everything pop. Very good choice for an appetizer. For our main dishes I she got the Bang-Bang shrimp pasta. You are greeted with a half pound of popcorn shrimp covered in a delectable spicy sauce that pairs so nicely with the pasta. It is very filling so you will have leftovers (unless you've eaten nothing all day of course). I got the Crawfish Étoufée and I was very pleased. It came with 2 sides (broccoli slaw and maque choux) and both were good pairings. The broccoli slaw was tasty and I was very happy with how sweet and savory it was. The maque choux paired amazingly with the étouffée. So well in fact that I mixed the 2 dishes. There is so much value in what you get and we went home with full bellies and plenty of leftovers for the next day! We highly recommend Railroad Brewery!

For Valentine's Day me and my partner decided, like last year to go to Corpus Christi for two…read morereasons: we thought Valentine's Day would not be crazy and the ocean is our happy place. Of course I was wrong. Our usual spot was packed to the brim but as usual we had a good time. The next day the trip to our usual pit stop was unceremoniously closed. Our hunger meter was slowly approaching towards "Hangry." The day before we noticed a place in a restaurant group called "B&J's" that offered pizza, grinders( a Michigan Staple) and brewed their own craft beer. When we got there before opening at noon, cars slowly started to fill up available parking spaces. I always see this as a good sign. In addition I always survey a menu before I go to any spot. My opinion is that it is always good to have a Plan B just in case a situation arises. And with traveling, there will always be variables So we went inside and it was not at all what I expected. A brewpub, to me denotes a seemingly mature crowd. Instead families were visiting to have parties. I saw a couple there for a date. Every demographic young and old was represented. It was extremely welcoming. So I ordered their lunch special that comes with a drink and an 8 inch pizza. And my partner went with an Italian Grinder. It's basically counter service. And you sit where you want. Me, like Norm from "Cheers" I am drawn to where the tapwall is. The interior feels like a lived in pizza joint with lots of stories. There is ample seating but judging by the birthday parties happening it fills up quickly. By the time I got to the bar's counter all the lights were on. Hanging from the ceiling was a chandelier made of taphandles of all the breweries that have traversed here. I wondered how some of those places regionally, nationally and locally made it here? Corpus Christi is like an island with hidden gems abound. No matter. I pounded on thee counter as any seafaring matey from San Antonio, Texas would do. They have a good selection of beers on tap and in cans. The tapmaster, Mikey poured me a pint of the Red Eye PA, an Imperial IPA. No sooner did my pour come to me that the food also arrived. My pizza was good as well as the grinder. The service is excellent here. Firstly tapmaster Mikey was an extremely friendly and knowledgeable server. I can tell he is passionate about the beers and food served there. As a craft beer enthusiast I enjoy talking to likeminded people. And talking to him was like having a conversation with a walking encyclopedia. He definitely made our detour worth the trip. We are already making plans to visit again soon. B&J's Pizza and Brewpub is an excellent place to bring families, friends, dates and birthday parties. The pizza is good. The beers are great. And the service is excellent. We had an amazing experience there. I think I have found a new spot when we are in Corpus Christi. ps.
