my son started at the beginning of April, due to needing a daycare that will transport to the elementary he will be going to for kindergarten. The first week was rough, they notified me about some behavior issues(running away from teachers, saying no, not listening the first time.)the following week things seemed better, i asked almost daily how the day went (to make sure I was doing what I could for them) they told me "today was better, he is having a hard time making friends, he isnt hurting anyone, but we are working on it"....okay great. He was so proud of himself, which shows that teachers were not adressing his supposed terrible behavior with him either, one day I didnt ask how the day went and he wanted me to go back inside and make sure i asked, if he had been misbehaving and in trouble with the teacher, would a child want to make sure i asked his teacher? no. .well this week, no one has said ANYTHING to me, just the typicall hellos, and goodbyes...today while at work, i get an e mail, stating how they can not handle my sons behavior. They cant reason with him, and their program just isnt for him, and he will have to find else where to go. When spoken to on the phone, after recieving this e mail..the ONLY reason they would give me is that he needs more attention than the other kids, and he dumped a box of crayons out and he is 5, he shouldnt be behaving that way....excuse me? Also he was wrestling with another kid, just playing around. So if this was a problem why wasnt it addressed, THAT DAY, and the other kid? Is he being kicked out too?! And its a problem if a child needs a little extra attention? i thought thats what the teachers were there for. Are you telling me in a class of 18 5 year olds to 1 teacher ony 1 5 year old boy needs extra attention?. yes I understand my child is hyper, he is testy, but he is not a bad kid. If this was such an issue, they could have told me the issues everyday, and we could have worked together to see what would help my son in this new place. He was at his previous daycare for 3 years and never an issue this bad, AND I TOLD THEM THAT. so who is the problem here?..when all you can say over and over, is "that its just not working out, he needs too much attention, i didnt tell you because I didnt want to upset you, and it wasnt a huge deal, it hasnt been as bad as it was at first." (this is exactly what they said, over....and over. no other reasn)that shows me you just dont want him there, and no child deserves that. They even admitted to me there were other "hard" kids in his class. They let him run around doing whatever he wanted. Yet he required too much attention? Also on more than 1 occasion the "teachers" were on their phones during pick up...if you have a typical 5 year old boy, who is going through change with a new daycare provider, i do not recommend this provider. they have no structure, clearly dont like to associate or pay any extra attention to children, or discuss issues with the parents more than one time.. Dont take the time to work with the child, and a bunch of "adults" who are not capable of "reasoning" with a 5 year old..this place is not worth it at all. beware read more
